Contemporary OB-Gyn Associates

I had a life-​changing surgery for the first time at Contemporary OB-​Gyn Associates for a procedure that had permanent results with no turning back. Surgery can be scary with so much uncertainty. The only minor surgery I ever had before that point was dental or having my tonsils removed as a kid. Twenty something years later, I was scared to death!
The staff at Contemporary OB-​Gyn Associates were so patient and understanding. They dealt with my hundreds of questions, OCD-​like cautious nervousness and scrutiny prior to surgery. My surgeon was Dr. Andrew Block and he was excellent! Dr. Ronald Jacobs referred me to him as an expert for the type of procedure I wanted. They are both so friendly and approachable.
Dr. Block is recommended as the top laparoscopic surgeon for a salpingectomy, tubal ligations and similar. He is transparent, kind and very empathetic. He will have conversations with you prior to surgery to make sure this is something you want to do and also make suggestions or alternatives.
Contemporary OB-​Gyn has different locations. I’ve been to the Silver Spring, Laurel and Rockville locations. I think it’s great that they have different office locations to accommodate your schedule. I give this such a high rating because Contemporary OB-​Gyn walked me through a surgery process that always has risks. They took care of me.

I have been coming to this practice for over 17 years, seeing Dr. Brooks specifically who delivered both my children, the first one via emergency C section. His bedside manner has never waivered. Yes, sometimes the waiting time runs a bit long but I’ll trade that for the good care I receive. Today I had a very uncomfortable procedure and Dr Brooks along with his nurse (Sarita?) took great care of me. The receptionist also seemed concerned as I was checking out. Dr Brooks also called to check on me later in the day. Over the years I have seen some of the other doctors in the practice as well and have found them along with the rest of the office staff to be kind, compassionate, helpful and able.
