Schooner Bay Motor Inn

This is an older motel that has a well deserved reputation for being immaculately clean, well maintained and friendly. At check-​in we were greeted by the owner and a pair of golden retrievers. I had requested a 2^nd floor room back in January when I made my reservation but ended up on the first floor. The room was nicely furnished, quiet and the bed was firm without being uncomfortable. A continental breakfast is offered that includes various baked goods, mini quiches, fresh fruit, cereal etc. We will likely be repeat customers in the not too distant future.

Stayed here in the middle of November 2013. Lowest cost room found on line in the area. Saturday night and there were plenty of vacancies. Breakfast is no longer being served, (past season) but the room was large, clean, warm, with small refrigerator, flat screen tv, and free wireless. For $ 65 we had a great nights sleep on comfortable beds in a clean room. No complaints.

for a three-​day stay and was not disappointed.
The price was very reasonable, given that this was Columbus Day weekend, and many of the other hotels/​motels in the vicinity proclaimed «NO VACANCY».
The amenities are basic, the breakfast is basic (don’t expect eggs or sausages here), but the price is right, the location is very convenient.
The room was VERY clean.
I had asked, by email, if it was possible to have a mini-​fridge in the room, and they obliged. At no extra charge. Heck! They even responded to my email! Which is more than I can say for some of the fancier hotels I’ve been staying at on his trip!
I enjoyed my three-​day stay here.

Family run with a great scenic view and clean, large rooms. I have to say that Schooner Bay was a godsend after coming in on a red eye and having to drive 2 hours to get to our destination. Their check-​in staff was pleasant and had quick on getting us into our room. We had an fantastic view of the surrounding forest with a babbling brook under our window which added great white noise when we were trying to get to sleep.
I don’t know the room rates because a friend booked our boarding but I can speak about the amenities. Continental breakfast is served in the morning from 7:30 — 9 am. Our internal clocks stayed on CA time so we weren’t able to check this out. Wi-​Fi is present in room and the cable package for the tv was decent. Bathroom and sink/​counter area was big which is a necessary when you have multiple people getting ready. The Motor Inn is right on Route 1 so heading out to explore the surrounding city is easy and fast. I will definitely remember this place next time we are in town.
