A good coffee house with a drive thru. Service was great and the look cute in this isolated coffee house in a boring looking strip mall. the coffee was excellent and they had the usual drinks one would expect from a coffee house.

«Ba da da da daaaaa! I’m lovin’ it.» My first time here the barista introduced me to an earl grey latte. Yum-to-the-aye. When I came the second time I wasn’t sure how to order said drink because my first time I was like a deer in headlights and didn’t know what to get and she just made up my mind for me. Thank you. So I sheepishly came up to the counter and said, «…Earl grey latte?» She asked if I wanted a shot of espresso. «Uh, sure?» I told her I had only had the drink one other time. She said she would make it with espresso and if I hated it I could bring it back and she would remake it. Sweetage! They offer pastry items and bagels as well. Plenty of seating inside also. And if you’re lucky you can nab one if the comfy chairs in front of the(drum roll please) FIREPLACE! Yes Meg, I shall definitely be a regular here.

This locally owned coffee shop has a few sprinkled locations around town. The family is really nice, and the shops have a cozy feel to them. I ordered a tuxedo latte which I’ve heard Meg’s is famous for; it was good, but not as impressive as I expected. Maybe I set my standards too high, but the coffee blend wasn’t right with the mocha syrup flavor; you could distinctly differentiate the flavors of both(I may be a bit picky with my coffee). I also thought they went a little heavy with the syrup, even though the second time I asked to give me half the normal amount. Apart from those nit-picky details, it was decent! They showcase a nice variety of baked goods if you’re in for a treat(or breakfast), and have some lunch options as well(Sandwiches, soups, etc). The thing I like the most of Meg’s is their community involvement; Meg’s on Perryville hosts a book club once a week, as well as sprinklings of live performances!

The white zombie is the absolute best! Such a different flavor but so delicious. I love their special flavors they offer also. Around Christmas time they have the best flavored lattes. I’ve never had a bad cup of coffee here, always consistently delicious! I also like that they offer muffin tops, it’s the perfect amount of muffin for me and they’re the only place I can find that offers a pistachio flavored muffin which is my favorite.

Best Spiced Chai in town. They also have a yellow loyalty card buy 10 get one. You can get two punches on Mondays. This place is also know for people paying for the car behind them. I just wish they had better sandwiches.

So. I’m kind of a stickler when it comes to iced chai lattes. But this place, man. Best one I’ve had yet. My friend just got an iced blend coffee and it was REMARKABLE. Real friendly and great people. Fast service, great coffee. Will be coming back again

Meg’s is a fantastic local coffee shop with large franchise selection. Great coffee flavors to choose from. The atmosphere is relaxed with comfy chairs to curl up and read in or tables to share with friends. The staff is always friendly. The house blend coffee rocks!

When I see a place that has caffeinated beverage called a ‘White Zombie’, I pretty much know that’s what I’m going to order, regardless of ingredients. I’d actually seen another review and tip mention this beverage also, so I figured it was probably a pretty good one, but my partner convinced me to ask what was in the beverage first, anyway. The one girl behind the counter gave a faint attempt at describing it, but really didn’t get much further than ‘erms’ and ‘uhms’ before she passed it off to her coworker and said she’s much better at describing it. It was kind of odd and I definitely felt like just telling me what was in it would probably have been the perfect way to describe it, but for whatever reason, she passed us off to nice, but incredibly soft-spoken girl behind the counter. I had to lean in and watch her lips closely to decipher what exactly she was saying, but it basically came to, ‘It’s extra caffeinated, with a nutty taste and vanilla aroma,’ which I thought sounded great — not as epic as the name ‘White Zombie’ would have led me to believe, but I still wanted it. I got a iced, large version of the drink and it ran around $ 5, so it was no bargain beverage and my partner got a small Americano, which was kind of weak, but much more affordable than the zombie. I don’t want to say the White Zombie was bad, I’m sure it’s plenty of other people’s tastes, ut definitely not mine. I tried to learn to like it, but after 6 or so sips I just couldn’t anymore. I gave it to my partner, who also wasn’t in love with it, but tolerated it for the sake of not wasting a $ 5 beverage that was half ice. The beverage tasted absolutely NOTHING like it was described. Didn’t taste like there was coffee in it at all, and had odd pockets of sweetness that weren’t consistent. After my fifth sip I finally nailed what it tasted like, which was liquid custard… which was unfortunate since custard is my #1 most hated food/flavor/thing to look at. My partner was trying to make mild conversation while we were being rung up, but neither employee seemed at all interested in being even the slightest bit friendly, or responding in any way other than what they were obligated to, like with the total price and what their hours were. I think Meg’s strong points are that it has a really comfortable space that’s cozy and spacious at the same time. Great for a meet up, reading session, or study time, and they also have a little outdoor seating area and a drive through, but the drinks and prices that accompanied those drinks didn’t seem to be priced well enough to compete with other options. I love my independent coffee shops, and I don’t mind paying more to support them, but I need more than just knowing their independent. I like to see the personality, charm, and familial atmosphere that you’d expect in a local place, but we found our experience to be rather cold and both the drinks and staff lacking some serious perk.

For me, Meg’s is on the way to classes in the morning or a place to study before and after. I really enjoy coming here and have on and off for several months now. I usually get the Meg’s Blend coffee and find a table to sit. I occasional will have a chocolate chip muffin, which are delicious!!! The muffins are so moist and yummy, and I finally got around to asking to see if they make them, which they do! Kudos! They also have other goodies to be had throughout the day. The staff is very nice and the atmosphere in the morning is relaxed, they even have a fireplace you can sit around. I would say that the majority of the people that frequent this location are those who work or live nearby. Its mostly a older crowd, but children come with their parents to meet up with family or whoever. While I have never gone, they have a book club which meets there and Scrabble game days, which sound fun. They are also willing to reserve tables for you if need be. Since I only ever buy regular coffee I can’t say how well priced the other drinks are, but the coffee isn’t bad, a couple of bucks. Plus if you stay there they will give you one free refill. Overall, I really enjoy Meg’s and will continue to visit.

I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere in the restaurant(Perryville location), very clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful in making decisions. The fruit smoothies unfortunately didn’t meet my expectations. I had one strawberry and one banana and they both tasted very watered down like I was drinking ice water. I don’t know if this is from not using enough flavor syrup(or whatever it is that goes in it) but I wouldn’t probably buy those again. I also purchased two sandwiches and those were good. The stainless steel sink the employees use needs to be replaced. I actually saw it moving around(not mounted properly) and they also couldn’t get the water to turn off. I thought to myself if they are not fixing the sink, what else might I not know about. Overall a decent experience.

Meg’s is a high-quality, friendly coffee shop. They are appropriately staffed during busy times, and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful with drink recommendations. I am a fan of their Vanilla Chai Tea Latte which is merely a powdered mix with milk and water added, but it is delicious. They always have an excellent dark roast, too. The one flaw is that their prices are a little high for their lattes and specialty drinks. A regular coffee is a decent price for a quality blend.

For eastern Rockford, it seems the only choice is between Meg’s or a corporate chain like Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts, so its a pretty easy choice. I like Meg’s large table space. The environment is pleasant and they offer free WI-FI but the muzak in the background is annoying(in its efforts to be un-annoying). Don’t forget your headphones! Their drinks are good, but overpriced! The flavored latte I got cost about $ 4.25 for a *small*. Seriously? They have a coffee punch card, but its like, buy ten drinks, get the 11th for $ 1 off… weak! Overall, I always end up going to Meg’s whenever I’m in town because it is the best café nearby, but I feel like they have cornered the market on local coffeeshops in this part of town, so they think they can charge whatever they want and play all the muzak that they want.
