I want to support local establishments, especially on the peninsula that try to stay open all year not just during the summer. Today was a cloudy windy day so was not to crowded and a good time to try something at Riis park. Wild feast had a bunch of different things to choose, and since I am at the ocean wanted to try the fish tacos. I questioned the counter person about what type of fish it was, she did not know but said it was similar to cod. Oh well still wanted to try it. I ordered it w/o quacamole and asked what it would come with. Again she didn’t know but said it had a lot of colors. After waiting five to ten minutes my order was called. What a disappointment. One soft soggy taco with one piece of fried frozen some type of fish,(let’s call it Scullys catch of the day). Hey at least no quacamole on it. Instead the accoutrements were shredded radish, I think a mango salsa drenched with either thousand island or Russian dressing,(what’s the f ing difference.) I would have not been so pissed if it wasn’t 9 bucks for a measly fish taco. I don’t know what’s the deal with frying fish down here, the other famous place with fish tacos in Rockaway does the same thing. Do your self a favor and go to San Diegos home of fish tacos and the fish is not fried. It is fresh and grilled not fried, plus served on a real taco shell. I should have trusted my instincts about the response from the counter person and walked away and went to the Whits end pop up.

Great first visit to this gem in Riis! The food was delicious, the waiters were amicable and the overall experience was great! If you’re looking for fresh seafood, Wild Feast is your top choice. I will be returning and I will definitely recommend this place!

This place is a fraud along with the write ups on Unilocal.I hope they delete this so I can call the NYS Attorney Generals Office. Nothing is fresh here it’s a bogus claim and the fish sandwich on an old roll I was served sucked and was expensive. Don’t believe the hipster losers here posting for this place they most likely work there.

Amazing location on the beach — get there now before summer crowds hit. Food quality rivals upscale spots in Manhattan and hipster Brooklyn but in a laid back locale with incredibly friendly and genuine service. Find this hidden gem before its overrun but ferrying out of towners.

I want to love this place. Really, I do. But I just don’t. The service has been terrible each of the maybe 4 – 5 times I’ve been down here(last time I came, we sat at the counter for 30min drinking beer and looking at menus we had to grab ourselves, without even a look in our direction from the staff). The crowd leaves something to be desired(diversity?). And there’s something bizarre about pricey, small-portioned food served on paper plates with plastic utensils(especially when combined with televised sports). But Riis Park in the off-season is pretty spectacular, and the food is fresh, and high-quality. In my dreams, Wildfeast would only serve kick-ass po-boys and cheap beer, maybe alongside some live music :)

I usually wait for a few trips to a place that I would consider adding to one of my regular spots. I’ve been here now 4 times. I was blown away by how tasty the food was there on my first trip. I was there with a friend in the industry and wanted to make sure we weren’t getting the«special treatment» because of that. We weren’t. Everything I ate that day, at brunch, was simply amazing. The duck eggs and house made sausage was unreal. The eggs were huge, and so rich and oozy(yes, I just made up a word). Do not expect a fancy restaurant experience, because this aint it. BUT do expect to eat some of the best food you will ever eat. And you MUST have a Bloody Mary, the best I’ve ever drank. On my second trip, I had brunch again. I don’t like scones usually, but these had just come out of the oven and were not dry and crumbly like every other one I have ever had, this was soft and chewy, served with homemade marmalade and whipped cream, holy crap. The housenmde hot dog? Who the hell makes homemade hot dogs? Wild Feast, mutha f*cker! That’s who. On my third, was dinner. If the bacon and shrimp egg rolls are on the menu, you should get your head examined if you DONT order them! The shrimp and red cabbage dumplings were off the hook. The shrimp tacos, the chicken and waffles!!! It just kept getting better. I was there yesterday for brunch, with food snob of a friend. The torched oysters were just amazing. The frittata? Outstanding! The house made bacon and sausage that we ordered alongside the farm fresh eggs? If I had another hand, I would have choked myself. Oh, and a few Bloody Mary’s of course. I will make this my go to brunch spot in Rockaway. I’ve been there 4 times in a month, and will spend my summer«eat out» meals there as well. The best part? The owners and staff are very nice people. I’m not 100% sure, but I think Mirijana and Valentino(Val) and maybe Keith are the owners. I’ve met all three and they are friendly and warm and make you feel like family, they make you want to come back. Val is talking to customers while working his magic, and it is magic, he is one of the most talented chefs I’ve had the pleasure of eating from, and good people. It may sound like I am friends or family with these people, but I am not. I met Mirijana and Keith just once and Val twice. Oh, how could I forget Rolando, our server? Friendly, attentive, and remembered my kids when we came back. And plenty of parking!!! If you haven’t been here yet, you are missing something special. I just saw the 2 negative reviews. As a sausage maker myself, I can guarantee that the breakfast sausage, the spicy larger sausage and the hot dogs are HOMEMADE. Those duck eggs didn’t come from Stop n Shop, I assure you. And they have to use paper plates and plastic cups because they are on a federally protected park and its against the law to use metal utensils and glassware. If you’re «hassled» by getting your own drinks, I get it, but I don’t think they own the bar portion. Can’t defend their website advertising, as I haven’t seen it.

I love the location and concept of what these guys are trying to do. The menu is an excellent mix of burgers and brunch favorites so I was super excited to check it out recently. Unfortunately the reality of what they’re doing and serving was quite disappointing. The food served on paper plates bares absolutely no relation to the pics they have posted on their website and Facebook to the point of being false advertising. There is nothing farm to table about this place. I had the«homemade» pork sausage which I think was just a decent store bought hot-dog on a potato bun(OK fine but call it what it is please). The slaw and the fries were served without any seasoning. The service and the kitchen were a bit painful to watch. Then having to get our own beverages(which I understand, and I’ve dealt with in other places) was also an added hassle. Waiting in line with many people ahead of me ordering drinks just to get more water for our table seemed unnecessary. I almost feel bad to write this review for such a cute place that’s obviously trying to be something nice, but I really felt completely deceived by the website. That’s my main complaint. Don’t portray yourself as some kind of high end gourmet place with those pics. I’d be much happier if you just pitched yourself as a low key eatery by the beach.

I took my family here for Valentine’s Day based on reviews and what I read on their website. It sounded amazing, how could one go wrong with«Local Seafood, Pastured Meats and Fresh Produce from our very own farm»? The website also has alluring pictures of beautifully plated farm to table fare. Our experience was, poor service from a lifeless waiter, dead flowers on every table, and food served on paper plates with plastic utensils! There was no farm fresh food and nothing was cooked properly. I have had better food from a movie theater. This place could be amazing with it’s fabulous view and unique location, also the bar serves a good bloody-mary. If they want to be a super low-key, snack-shack, great, serve the frozen hot dogs, but change your misleading website and Facebook, so it reads true.

My husband just catered a surprise birthday party for me from Wildfeast. The food was delicious and so different(and better) than most places that cater. Not your standard chicken francese, etc. We had a delicious beef tenderloin with a bbq sauce, chicken skewers with a shallot cream sauce(absolutely delicious), glazed carrots, risotto cakes, green salad with apples and grilled shrimp tacos. We ended with a chocolate cake with ganache. Needless to say, everything went and my family was fighting for the few leftovers that were left. I would definitely cater from them again.

Everything was amazing. Definitely my favorite of the beach places. Had a great New Year’s Day brunch with black roe blinis and panko chicken and waffles as a standout. Wild salmon frittata with crème fraîche also amazing.

What a fantastic hidden gem in Rockaway. Great food, prepared in a wonderfully simple, but unique way. The wait staff is second to none, and the owners will do everything possible to make your meal you own. Very casual with spectacular uninterrupted ocean views. Most food is locally sourced when possible and changes seasonally. The bar, although separate, keeps in the atmosphere and has televisions for game watching. Love this place and hope to frequent often. Thank you

My wife, two friends and I had an amazing dinner last Sunday at Wild Feast at Riis Beach in Rockaway. We had eaten several lunches and dinners at Wild Feast during the summer, so we were excited about the new winter venue. We were not disappointed. Every dish was delicious. We are delighted that the seafood and produce are local and sustainable. And excellent! The bar offerings are decent. The view of the ocean at sunset added to the charm. We will return through out the winter to enjoy this fantastic Rockaway dining experience.

Don’t sleep on these guys! Their tagline is that they’re the«freshest seafood you never heard of», and they live up to the moniker. At the Riis Park Beach Bazaar, they have two food stands. The first is inside the food court, where they serve delicious and inventive tacos adorned with edible flowers. Outside in the courtyard, they have a standalone oyster and raw food bar. They serve all sorts of chilled seafood, including: –Blue Point oysters: 6 for $ 12 or 12 for $ 20 –Littleneck clams: 6 for $ 6 or 12 for $ 10 –Shrimp cocktail: $ 10 –Truffled oysters: 3 for $ 10 –Pulpo salad: $ 8 I had the BP oysters. I’m not typically a can of Blue Points, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers and when you want oysters, you want em. About as good as Blue Points get. Also tried the truffled oysters per their recommendation. They add bacon bits, truffle oil and cheese, and then use a mini torch to melt it all and create a nice crunchy top. And yes, they were delicious. Hope to see these guys around a lot more, as their locally sourced fresh produce mentality is great.
