What a fun place. The patrons are very cool. Always a chance to strike up a conversation. Cold beer, darts, and free pool all day Thursday.

A favorite watering hole ever! If on beer pocketbook and champagne taste then this is your place to be. The handle tilts on the draught lager nicely and a Guinness’s cost is $ 5 to split and make a Black & Tan twice.

«The real Rockaways» I come here every now and then after hitting jacob Riis and the boardwalk, since it is on the way to the train. This is a very laid back neighborhood bar with an older crowd where everyone knows each other. Upon entering you may get some stares(I do not mind awkwardness too much) but if you stay for a couple of drink the«locals» will warm up to you. A couple even bought me a birthday shot. The wife of the couple also introduced me to other regulars at the bar. Mike, the bartender, is a very extreme character, who(for some reason) thought I was there the previous week and I told him that I was a photographer. Who knows where he go that from but it was funny, nonetheless. The bar is pretty standard and divey. There is a pool table, a jukebox and a patio in the back where one can smoke. The drinks are really cheap and the bar has an option of pints or 10 oz of draft beer. So, I highly recommend to check this place out if you actually want to see and meet the real folks of the Rockaways.

Nice bar… but it has a really older crowd… so this is more of a laid back bar where you watch the game, down a beer and swap conversations with the locals. If you are looking to dance, be loud, play jukebox or score… well then this is the last place for any of that. Nice bar so go drink and be merry.
