Went out with a few coworkers to this place. I absolutely loved it! Food, drinks, live music, water view, outdoor seating, location… Everything in one location. This is definitely my new hang place. A must see and try this summer if you live in queens.

Really love this place. The food is great and I love the atmosphere. Sitting out on the deck on the water is really pretty and great for a nice sunny day. They have some great frozen drinks on special. This time I had the rum punch and it was delicious. As an appetizer we had the Thai fried calamari. It was really good and was a decent portion. For my main course I had the cold seafood salad. It was in a lemon vinaigrette and very fresh and tasty. I will definitely be back. I saw the crab cakes on another table that looked really good and want to get them next time!

I cannot even begin to say how much I love this place! We are so lucky to have the Bungalow Bar right in our neighborhood. We had a large group for an 8th grade graduation. The Event Manager was so helpful in helping us plan our party. The Staff was so professional and attentive. Our lunch ran smoothly and everyone enjoyed the food, drinks and especially the incredible views where memorable photos were taken. The Manager, Katie checked up on us a few times to make sure everything was going well. I would recommend Bungalow bar for any parties you may need to plan, or even to sit on the deck for good food and drinks with incredible views and a fun atmosphere.

First time here, been wanting to try it out for some time after I seen it on bar rescue awhile back. The location is great, just a little hard to find look for the McDonalds as you come over the Cross bay bridge it’s right behind it. They have indoor and out door seating on a deck over the water. The food was great I had their signature burger which was done perfectly and my girlfriend had a New England clam chowder which she loved.(fresh clams and some lobster mixed with it) For a appetizer we had the Mac &Cheese balls with some marinara sauce on the side, which were awsome. The place is casual and avg noise levels so you can talk with the people your with. The menu is small but varied with fish pasta and meat selection so you won’t be disappointed. Staff was excellent and quick Looking forward to next visit.

This was a decent spot considering that the Rockaways can be a tough spot to find something to eat. A 20-minute wait for a table inside on a crowded Father’s Day Sunday. 40-minute wait outside. Standard, I suppose. Pros: –Service was friendly –Bar while you wait –Right on the water — nice for sunset –DJ outside gave it a nice energy — though Ice Ice Baby has probably run its course. –Burgers and Mussels were very good Cons: –Kitchen got backed up. Understandable, but probably something that could have been predicted and avoided, no? –Want more bread with that? That’ll be $ 1.50. Nickle and dimeing. –There’s a $ 10 burger option, and after that the entrees go way up in price. I think the cheapest meal after that was was $ 22 and they go up from there. –Fries were lousy So I’d come back for a burger, but not much else. And, I’d do it on an off-peak time.

I’ll give this place a few stars because the atmosphere of it really is lovely. Waitstaff is polite and quick. Got seated right away by the water which is really nice at a restaurant in the summer. And I don’t know, maybe it was just my own experience/orders, but their food seems to be disproportionate in quality and price. Just off the top of my head: — Ordered an $ 18.00 lobster roll sandwich, and it was honestly the most underwhelming sandwiches I’ve ever had, especially at that price. It was probably smaller than a Subway 6-inch, on toasted white bread, with a small/medium amount of lobster, a decent amount of fries, all served on a plastic/paper tray. Basically, something you could get on the boardwalk of Coney Island. I know lobster is usually a little more on the expensive side, but $ 18.00 for *that*?? Common… I had to eat some of my boyfriends chicken panini in order to feel full. — We also split the Pineapple margarita thing, and at $ 20.00 for the drink, you’d think you would have more bang(alcohol) for your buck. We finished it pretty quickly, and really I think the price tag on it is the fact that it’s served in a literal pineapple. That’s cool and all, but I’d rather just have a better drink in itself. — I was thinking about ordering a second drink, but looking around at the margaritas people had, in flimsy small plastic cups(at about $ 14.00 per margarita), I didn’t get one. That seemed like just a flat out rip off. So, when the bill comes to about $ 60.00 pre-tip for two people having: a chicken panini sandwich(with lays potato chips essentially sprinkled on the side), a tiny lobster roll meal, and one shared drink… it feels… not worth it. Unless they switch up their menu/portions, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

You wouldn’t expect it since its on a major road but when you walk to the back of this place there’s a really nice patio for an outdoor lunch or dinner. Nice sea breeze and view. The foods not bad either, I had the Cajun chicken sandwich which was good. It was a nice way to spend an afternoon.

This place could be so much better. Upon arrival there was no hostess. We finally found someone to seat us. Our waitress finally came and she was in training she was extremely nice. I ordered a burger with french fries and a margarita. Margarita was the worst one I’ve ever had in my life the cups are extremely cheap and plastic and flimsy. On a positive note my French fries were good and my burger was mediocre with no seasoning whatsoever. My daughter hated her Fried Chicken and mash potatoes and left everything on her plate. I was really hoping to like this place.

Our weekend spot during the summer. I love it here for many reasons. The first one is that we can arrive by boat, but this along is not good enough reason since there are several places on Jamaica Bay that can be reach by the waterway, but the fact that Bungalow is tuck in behind the bridge makes it quiet convenient to dock the fancies of boats, but finding dock space on busy weekend is a different matter. The second reason why I love it is the view and atmosphere. The staff is very polite and the view is opened and relaxing. The dock setting is a big hit for the kids and adults alike. But the third and most surprising reason of all for a beach/waterfront restaurant is that the food is actually good. I mean I won’t call it a foodies delight, hence the 4 star review, but for a bar/American Style cuisine is not bad. My favorite are the calamaris cooked in the thai sauce– a great twist to a bar staple. The fish tacos with a side of guacamole hits the spot for a warm day enjoy on a back deck. The crowd is diverse. On any weekend at the Bungalow, you could find yourself surrounded by children and mom-to-bes by the outer side of the deck, or by the loud and festive twenties something bar crowd. The life music is also a bit hit. I highly recommend this Rockaway Beach hidden gem.

Private Tent Party Review: Bungalow Bar and their event staff are definitely there to help ensure your event runs smoothly and effortlessly. I appreciated the attentiveness from all staff members involved. THEYWEREPHENOM! My husband and I have thrown many events and this by far was the best experience we have ever had. From the set up, the beautiful artwork on the chalkboard, to making sure our guests were comfortable… the Bungalow Bar staff were all there readily to assist. Regarding the food, the brunch package was great and served buffet style expeditiously. The waffle and omelet stations were a hit and my personal favorite was the penne pesto chicken dish. I highly recommend you choose this venue for an event.

The view was beautiful! The calamari was amazing however I was not impressed as much with the drinks, they were a little watery. The service could have been better too, but I would go back for the view!

This is truly a «hidden gem.» You park on the street, walk down a dead end half-block, through an opening towards a dock and there it is on the right. My wife and I went on a Sunday(Jets & Patriots were playing) and everyone by the bar and throughout the restaurant were cheering. Atmosphere: happy and a bit noisy on game day. But not unbearable. It was actually fun to see. Service: our server, Liz, was great. She took her time to explain the menu options, made recommendations and sat at the table next to us to clarify anything we needed. Food: the artichoke dip was amazing. The French onion soup was just right. The lobster grilled cheese had nice chunks of lobster meat and the fried chicken was exquisite. Crispy outside and juicy inside. The brown gravy was a nice touch and the Brussels sprouts and mash are a great pairing. Overall, We definitely enjoyed this place. We will be returning soon, with friends, and trying the other dishes. Great service and food made for a good late lunch date for my wife and I. It must be great in the summer. With the warm fireplace, we felt like we were in someone’s home enjoying some good hearty meals.

This place is always packed even in the winter when Rockaway hunkers down for the season. The food is just okay for me but they do have some interesting drink mixes which are a must-try. Beware of the bar area tho– the bartenders always have an attitude and they charge too much for a well drink. Their outdoor deck is wonderful in the summer and it’s a good place to sit and take in the view of Cross Bay.

Three of my friends and I came to Bungalow Bar around 130pm on a Sunday afternoon, we were waiting on a 5th person who was stuck at work, which we told the hostess and she said that was fine. The four of us sat in the deck, ordered drinks and than ordered food. After eating we still sat there and kept ordering round after round of drinks. About 5pm one of the managers comes over to our table and asked when our fifth person would be there because they had a wait. She than asked if we would close out our tab, put our name on the list to be re seated, and wait at the bar until our new table was ready. None of us wanted to do that being that we were sitting there ordering drinks and spending so much money but we didn’t want to cause any problems. The waitress brings the check and as we were paying it, the pager goes off that our new table is ready. I went into the woman who said she was the general manager and asked if we could stay at the same table, since the new table she wanted us to move to for the same amount of people is ready. She than got so nasty with me. I dont know how she can be the GM if she has 0 people skills, or can’t work under pressure. she told us to stay there and than walked away from me. I’m assuming she than realized how rude she was because she bought the table a round of drinks and was than coming over to check if everything was okay. Other than the incident with the GM, the food was great and our waitress was really attentive and very nice. Bungalow Bar would of got 5 stars if it wasn’t for that whole incident, and because of that I don’t think any of us would be returning here.

I came here from Long Island City after I heard about the Bungalow pop up in NYC at the Refinery Hotel & I was going to Rockaway beach. The restaurant is a bit difficult to find at first as it’s based behind a McDonalds and there isn’t much else in the immediate area. Once located, we headed straight out the back to eat outside in the sunshine. There were already people eating outside and by the time we left it was really busy. The food was nice, I had steak & eggs and my husband had the breakfast burrito with sausage. Although nice, it wasn’t anything special. The surroundings were nice, being on the water. There were a lot of staff around, I think some were training as it was opening weekend. All the staff were really nice & friendly. I would return here if venturing to Rockaway again.
