Just tried to visit Periwinkle and it’s closed. No longer in business.

This place is becoming my go-to place to get lunch with my girlfriends. Wonderful, artsy atmosphere, amazing coffee, and delicious sandwiches make this one of my favorite places.

Based on the food alone, I would give this four stars. I went in just for some desert after touring downtown Rock Hill. The carrot cake is very good. The down side is the register system they have. They use a tablet and only have one. It takes a long time, and when it gets busy(as it was when I was there), it gets backed up. Avoid busy times and you should be fine.

Ok, so it lives up to the hype and expectations. Had the panini-grilled chicken salad, bacon and cheese special with tomato Florentine soup, and both were marvelous. Top it off with excellent fresh-ground coffee and«Death by Chocolate» cupcake, and I’ve found the best reason yet to make the jump from NC to SC! Well, this and the cheap gas…

Great coffee, great service, great location. If you love coffee and love supporting a small local business, then this is the place for you. Americano and a blueberry muffin got my day rollin’ in a good way!

I’ve eaten here 4 times now and will definitely keep coming back. The turkey panini is my favorite sandwich on delicious handmade bread with pesto, cheese and turkey. The periwinkle salad with grilled chicken is extraordinary! Ok, then there’s the desserts…

I’m a fan of Periwinkle, plain and simple. We need more places like it, especially in Rock Hill because it’s a locally owned restaurant that does a good job servicing their customers. They do this with a friendly attentive staff, reasonable prices and great food. I work in Rock Hill and let’s be honest there’s many places to get a decent sandwich or salad. Periwinkle is in the revitalized downtown area and is a nice cozy spot to relax. Today I had the Roast Beef Panini with Orzo pasta salad. The panini was nicely put together with the right amount of lettuce, tomato and onion. They used creamy horseradish sauce instead of mayo and gave the sandwich a nice bite. The bread, you can tell was freshly made and hit the spot. I decided to forego one of the many decadent desserts in the case on on my way out but have had their cheesecake before, and as a self proclaimed connoisseur of cheesecake it’s unbelievable! Once again, I like Periwinkle and hope that the community continues to support this business!

Amazing little fine in this old historic part of Rock Hill. We were in town after visiting Historic Brattonville. My wife was watching the kids at the Main Street Children’s Museum and said afterwards… perfect place. It sure was. Nice, great pastries, coffee and tea. Nice ambiance as well… nice chairs and regular tables.

Periwinkle is one of my favorite places for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. The staff is very friendly and remember you if you come in a few times. They have the best coffee in Rock Hill that I’ve found so far. Prices are comparable to any other coffee you’d find around but the quality is much better! I like to try their drink of the month. For example, February’s drink was chocolate covered cherry mocha. Insane! Last time I was in, I ordered a salad. It was pricier than I’d like($ 8 – 9), but when they brought it out my jaw dropped. Their salads are HUGE, so the price is reasonable. I got the chicken cobb salad with their house dressing(a tasty grape seed vinaigrette). Tons of fresh veggies & warm chicken breast on top. I definitely recommend it. I’ve also had their sandwiches, which are really delicious. They have a huge selection of sweets and I’ve liked everything I’ve tried. Recently tried the apple cider cookie. Very unique and has a genuine apple flavor to it. They like to do Groupons so keep an eye out for those.

Went here for lunch with my roomie. Let me start out with the good stuff. The food. was. excellent. They have a turkey pesto panini, and when I asked if it was possible to change the turkey to chicken and they did it with no problems — didnt even charge me extra for it. It was incredibly delicious, I couldn’t get over it. Definitely one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. It comes with chips and a pickle. While my roomie traded out the chips for vegetable soup and said it was delicious, I was extremely happy with my chips. They taste home made, are super crunchy, and have just the right amount of salt. Then I had the crème brule coffee. It was pretty good. Very smooth. Nice quality. To top it all off I got a lemon square. It was amazing, even better than my sandwich(although to be fair I’m a little bias because lemon things are one of my favorites). The atomsphere here is great. Its very indie/hipster, although anyone could enjoy it, and they have dining outside! The prices were decent… Heres where, for me, they lose a star. The service was friendly, but few and far between. We waited forever just for someone to come over to us(or anywhere near us so we could wave them down) to get sugar for our coffee. Afterwards it took even longer to get the check, and I never got a refill on my water although it had been sucked dry for a while. They also have extremely disappointing hours of operation.

Drove through historic Rock Hill(or at least that’s what I think it was… super cute main street with old timey looking locally owned biz-nass-es) for work and was in desperate need for coffee. Unilocal brought me to Periwinkle, which is tucked neatly away on the lower level of the street– so do keep your eyes peeled for the Periwinkle sign. Their ambiance is friendly and the pastry is made fresh in-house everyday. Locally owned and operated. The selection in the case is impressive– ranging from cupcakes to puff pastry creations and cookies.(I didn’t have any of them, but I did hear several«mmm» sounds from businessmen eating that morning.) The iced latte was good– nothing out of the ordinary, but I should point out a tad better than S’bux since it wasn’t bitter in the least. If I ever find myself up in RH again, I’ll stop by for lunch or to grab a baked good for sure!

Today was my 3rd visit to this cool Bakery and Café. Very cool lay out! Loft-like upper entrance and dinning area, chairs and smaller nooks with tables on the lower level. Huge seating area outside, lower level. Today I had a Hazelnut Swiss Pastry. It was goood! Wait til you see the Photos! I have also had their Cake Balls(balls of cake dipped in Chocolate) also good! Fantastic service!!! Owner and her son and another young lady waited on me. Everyone is very friendly! History and Romance: Periwinkle Café & Bakery is a tribute to the Periwinkle Tea Room which in the 1940’s was located in the spot where their patio is now! Cool!!!
