This was an awful experience start to finish. We had made reservations for 6:00 when we arrived our table was set up already and we were pointed to our table where we sat for 12 minutes before having to get up to ask if someone was going to wait on us we should have known and left at this point but we thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt. The meal continued at this pace for the entire time waiting for drinks, salads, entrees for 20 minutes at a time. The salads were not fresh lettuce and all veggies were wilted and brown. Entrees were absolutely HORRIBLE. Pasta came out mushy and soupy it literally looked, smelled and tasted as it came out of a can maybe worse. We had to send back 3 out of 4 entrees back as they were inedible. The waitress acted shocked we didn’t like them and brought us our bill. We paid the entire bill 89 dollars, not once did a manager stop by to see what was going on. As we were exiting I stopped at the podium and asked to speak to a manager and was told she was the manager she looked like a sloppy mess. I told her it was very poor customer service for her not to bother to come to our table knowing that we had sent back our entire meal. She said she thought it was because we didn’t’ like the taste and she wouldn’t do anything about it unless it was raw or burnt. She was extremely rude and didn’t care what so ever about customer service. The worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant I’m not sure who the other reviewers are that are giving this place more than one star they must not have ever been to a real Italian restaurant before.

Today was my birthday, and I wanted to go somewhere different. I decided on Italian food. I checked Unilocal and was pleased to find good reviews. You won’t be disappointed, Great food, and a great find in Rock Hill. It was a reminder of when I visited Italy many years ago. My wife and I loved it and found a new date night spot.

BUYERBEWARE!!! My family and I used to go to Luigi’s quite often. But after tonight I will NEVER give them a dime of my money again! After eating, we received our bill which had an 18% gratuity added to it. Now for a family of 4, this seemed a bit off. After discussing it with management, we discovered that it is «up to the server» to determine which tables they want to apply this forced gratuity on. That it’s «really for tables with over 3 people». And that if we weren’t happy with our service they would take it off the bill. Apparently there is a small line on their pizza menu which states they reserve the right to charge a tip. Well, guess what… you may get charged the tip while the table next to you may not. If we were a large party asking for separate bills… I would get it… but this randomness and inconsistency is sickening. Maybe it’s because my family is mixed race that they felt we should be the ones to pay the forced amount! I have never been so offended in my life, nor have I ever been confronted with a business practice like this. My family frequents restaurants all over the city… Charlotte, Fort Mill, Rock Hill… and I haven’t encountered this anywhere! I will not be back, that’s for sure! Now maybe I get why they don’t have the same servers… the food isn’t the same quality… I’m done.

There’s so many things to be said about this restaurant, I almost don’t know where to start. While the environment and hospitality is not too shabby, the décor is absolutely despicable. As soon as you walk in you will realize it does not have the classy feeling that you expect from Italian cuisine. I ordered a Caesar salad expecting a normal first course, but there was an assortment of veggies that had no business being in my bowl, I almost thought I ordered the vegan special. I first got a taste of the sauce when my Mozzarella stick appetizer arrived, and when I had my first dip it tasted as if I coated my stick of fried cheese in tomatoes genetically engineered by willy wonka himself. What kind of establishment makes there marina sauce sweeter than their cannolis? Despite all of that, the atmosphere seems to be friendly and full of regulars which is good, but makes me question their culinary standards. I’m not saying it’s a bad place, I’m simply saying they could use an extreme makeover and whosever ancient recipes they use, should be thrown in the furnace. If you are looking for a nice Italian place to take your significant other for a relaxing evening of red wine and pasta, I suggest you find a place a little more authentic.

New to the area from Philadelphia where you get real Italian food. Husband was out of town and decided to order dinner for myself and our daughter. We ordered the mozzarella sticks which were far from homemade and barely edible. Burnt and dry. I got the chicken parm which was HUGE and pretty good, the sauce was a little sweet and there was a TON of it, not my fave to have my food drowning in sauce. My daughter got a personal pizza off the regular menu because I was told there was no children’s size and she seemed to enjoy it. But for myself and a 4 yr old our bill was almost $ 50! We had it delivered and it took twice as long to get here as they said it would(was told 45 mins and it took an hour and a half). If we decide to try it again we will be eating there and hope the food is better.

We frequent here so often. All dishes I have tried are fantastic. Grouper, chicken marsala, longuini and clams, chicken parm, veal, lasagna… the menu is no joke. This place is a hidden gem.

Good stuff. Note that this is not one of those fancy smancy Italian spots like you might find up the road in Charlotte. This is a family Italian restaurant, but with a good beer selection and great food. Think of it that way and you will have a great time here.

This is an awesome place period! Ice cold pitchers of beer, ice cold mugs, and hand tossed pizza of any kind! or go stupid for the stuffed pizza and add jalapeños and anchovies for a salty hot pie! Tomato and mozzarella was to pretty to eat but we did anyway! Have had the mussels and pasta as well as the Italian sandwich with the homemade sauce! The staff is mostly family and after several months they almost treat me like family! Disregard the unintelligent and picky lady’s negative review as she has left six negative reviews out of eight restaurants! She reviewed McDonald’s, really, who does that! Maybe try a little home cooking in your singlewide before you trash a great place like this one! And, she didnt get that big not eating, shes gorging somewhere!

First off, air conditioning was non existent, secondly, service was slow and pretty bad. When she did talk to us it was quick, curt, and not very friendly. Thirdly, food was awful. Mostly frozen, or packaged, nothing fresh. Was not expecting a fine dining experience, but at 18 dollars a plate, it should of been much better. Won’t go again, don’t recommend at all.

I don’t post reviews often but this place deserves high praises. The portions were huge, you definitely could split an entrée with a friend and both be full! The calamari was unreal and the marinara that comes with it is leaps and bounds over what comes with the breadsticks. Great little spot and very affordable. Perfect for a date night!

Great family Italian. I really enjoyed this place and ate here while on business in the area. Food was good quality, portions were large and staff was efficient and friendly. Wine selection is a bit limited, but they do have six or so wines available by the glass or carafe. Will certainly go back I’d I’m in the area again.

Olive Garden quality food… Lots of good reviews here and from people in the area — but maybe they don’t really understand quality Italian food.

Someone suggested another well-known local Italian restaurant for the best pizza in town, and we were, well, not impressed. Then we happened on Luigi’s. Not only is the pizza the best we’ve had outside of Italy, but the extensive selection of other Italian foods has impressed all of the out-of-town guests we’ve taken there. The pizza is much like the best we have had in northern Italy, but with a more generous hand with the toppings — probably a concession to American tastes. My only complaint: I was once served an alleged Chianti there that simply did not taste like Chianti. Next time, I may ask to see the label. But — the food is really, really good!

First time at Luigi and Sons. We were looking for a good Italian restaurant in Rock Hill. Looks like we found it. Atmosphere was very nice and the waiter(Roberto) was very polite and helpful. Lasagna was very good. My wife has been looking for a lasagna to compare to what she loved near Pittsburgh three years ago. It’s taken 3 years but she has finally found it.

I just recently moved to the Fort Mill/Rock Hill area and I’ve been looking for a good Italian spot… Well this is my experience. I walk in and let the hostess know that I want to place a to go order and she just tells me ok and simply walks off and that’s fine because she could have just assumed that I was a first time customer so I got her attention and asked if I just go to the«bar» and order. She told me «yeah» so I went to the«bar» and stood while 4 different servers walked by me to punch in things on the computer and no one ever acknowledged my presence or asked if I needed assistance, so giving them the benefit of the doubt I just waited for whomever was supposed to be in charge of taking the to-go orders… After about 5 awkward minutes of standing there trying to make eye contact with any staff willing to take my order I just told one of the young ladies working that«I just want to make a to go order»… This wasn’t a very pleasant exchange but I placed the order anyway. I haven’t even received my order yet so I decided to write this review while still sitting here in the restaurant. And yes if you work here I am the black guy that came in wearing a «hoody» and Spurs hat… Please do something to improve your customer service with ALL of your customers. I will never spend another dime in this establishment. Dr. Spencer

One of my favorite places. It smells like heaven when you walk in. Good staff and great food. It is family owned and I love to help support family owned businesses. I have been eating here for years and I have never had a bad experience. They are always friendly and the food is always delicious.

A wonderful find if you are roaming around Rock Hill’s Cherry road area. This is an authentic family owned and operated Italian restaurant worthy of your patronage. The menu has everything Italian and it is all good. Lunch is a crowd because local businesses come in and also refer customers who ask for a lunch suggestion. Roberta was our waitress and she was just great. She has been with Luigi’s family for over four years and is used to the ooooooos and ahhhhhhhs of customers. They have carbonnara, a nice house marinara and other white and cheese sauces. Pastas covering the whole range, chicken and veal dishes, and lots of sides and deserts. You will have trouble choosing just what to eat, which to me is a great menu. It is in an older shopping center, so is not readily visible from the street. Their arty red — green– white sign on the face of the building is not readable until you study it, so go for the street address to find it. You will be happy that you did. We will continue to patronize Luigi’s.

We prefer Chicago style pizza, but have to say this is good Italian. The sausage they use is very nicely spiced and makes a great pizza. I love the Antipasto salad. Salad for two is a meal for both of you. It comes with a variety of ingredients, good meats and a yummy dressing. We recently made a to go order, and everything was just as good. The salad was again full of quality ingredients and very attractively packaged and the pizza was very good. I did not like the thin crust veggie pizza as the veggies were too crisp but the pizza was soggy. Everything else has been great though. We usually have great service but on occasion it can be a little slow. We will be going back again and again.

I’m a big fan of searching for and trying local, good restaurants that deserve my business. Unfortunately, there are not many in Rock Hill and Fort Mill. Recently, I did try this Italian restaurant. It’s not new and I’ve driven by it many times. I’m not sure why I never ate here sooner. I ordered a 16″ pizza with pepperoni for takeout. It was $ 14 plus tax. The pie was very tasty and definitely on the large size. The crust was thick(just the way I like it) with just the right amount of cheese, but a little skimpy on the sauce. I guess I never ordered here before because I never see this place busy. And when I picked up the pizza, there were maybe three tables occupied. I will definitely eat in next time and try something other than pizza. I’m looking forward to it. I hope I’m not disappointed. I do recommend Luigi’s. It’ is definitely a step above the franchises and fast food restaurants to choose from in this area.
