I was referred to Nichols by two non-yelping friends who recommended them. After leaving a kind of detailed voice mail I was initially concerned that there might be some delay in their response at there did not appear to be a receptionist, They called back within in an hour and after briefly discussing the problem they were able to set up a two hour window for them to come by later that same, after advising me up the costs upfront.($ 50 for the visit and $ 35 for the first hour of work — reasonable) Steve arrived within the timeframe and quickly diagnosed the solution to our specific problem and discussed how we wanted it fixed. Steve got the job done in less than an half of a hour and everything is working good, with no resulting damage or mess left behind. The efficiency and quality of a professional job being done is something worthy of being appreciated. They use a tablet and email to process the payment and receipt process. While I may have benefited from a fortunate circumstance in their having an available time slot and that my issue was one, that was for them an apparently easy fix, even setting that aside, the call back response time and the efficiency in their work and plain upfront discussion of costs and options was simply good service. I have to add that they followed up a day later with an email confirming that I was satisfied — nice!

I had Steve come out for an estimate and to see what he could do about an electrical problem in our bathroom. He was there about 20 – 30 min. Checked out our basement that we are going to have refinished and changed out a socket in our bathroom. Cost me $ 108. Seems a little steep… but um ok. Then says he will get back to me via email to let me know an estimate on basement. A week goes by *crickets crickets crickets* …2 weeks goes by so I give him a call and he states he did email me, it must of not went through. Understandable I suppose. He sends an estimate for the basement for $ 295 final cost. O_o Ok so only $ 187 more to do an entire basement room but $ 108 for a simple 20 min socket exchange. Odd but hey seemed like a deal. I call him to let him know I would like the job done on the basement. *Crickets crickets crickets* Still no call back and its been a week or so. So um yea. My final conclusion is Im guessing he doesn’t want the job. To not respond to people is highly unprofessional and a customer/client should never have to constantly reach the company who supposedly would do the work.
