We live in Spencerport and usually pick up from Chef King. This time we were feeling lazy and called around for delivery. Hunan Garden was closest but required a $ 20 minimum. Nah. First time trying NGC– their minimum was only $ 10. No sweat. They quoted us an hour wait but we could take it. Just shy of the estimate later, we had our grub. The first thing you notice is the smell. So much fresher and more aromatic than CK. The waft of fresh-cooked onion had our mouths watering. Then you check the egg rolls. Perfectly fried to golden perfection. Chef King tends to overcook, dare I say burn them. Not cool. The shrimp variety had at least one plump bad boy in there, and a nice flavor throughout. The chicken lo mein had plenty of meat, carrots, and those onions that had so singed the nostrils. A great light, only slightly greasy flavor.(And come on… that’s what you want.) The pork-fried rice had juicy chunks and its own crunch of veg. And let’s talk about the won-ton soup. LOADED with noodles, that were in turn loaded with a zesty meat filling. Plus the broth was delicious and dark. CK’s broth is clear and I usually have to add soy and hot sauce for flavor. Not so with these folks. Long story long, I made sure we tipped well. We will definitely be calling them again the next time we get a craving for American Chinese. And for sitting on the couch while we wait for it. Chef King’s inexplicable loss for not delivering.

It was pretty bad. Giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because when we called them and told them we were unhappy, they were pretty cool about it. They sent a driver out to pick up the food and give us our money back. Our rice had a staple in it. Our hot & sour soup was so gelatinous and thick that it resembled jello more than soup. By then, we were just kind of turned off and grossed out so we didn’t try our main dish — which might have been fine — but we just couldn’t do it. Everyone is allowed an off day. But we won’t be back. But again — I give them props for the customer service and coming back out.(Yes, we tipped the driver well both times.)

I’ve ordered from this place several times throughout this week and i must say i’m really liking it so far, They’ve been consistent with there food and they offer an great variety of dinner combo’s to choose from. When ordering Chinese i’m usually torn between General Tsos and Boneless Spare-Ribs but for the first time ever NOMORE being worried about choosing one over the other: D they had a dinner combo that offered boneless spare ribs + Sesame Chicken + Fried Rice or in my case Noodles. I must say that there noodles were like nothing i expected, Usually when i order noodles from take-out places they’re very greasy and salty however these noodles were very tender and dry which i love(very little grease), Overall i was very pleased they also have pretty fast delivery. I will be ordering more from this place!

general tso chicken was only tso-tso :-\ Seriously, though, it’s just another run-of-the-mill pseudo-Chinese takeoout place, about them same as any one of probably 2 dozen in the area. Call them if they are close to you, but don’t expect any surprises. I’ve decided to up it to 3 stars, even though I really think it’s only worth 2.5.
