I’ve been wanting to try LBF for a while now, but I would always get side tracked at the food truck rodeos by the plethora of options! I finally had a chance to check them out today at the Brighton Farmer’s Market and all I can say is YUM! They have a great concept — veggie friendly with many vegetarian and vegan options. I brought along a coworker that is «vegetarian except for buffalo wild wings» and I was hoping he would enjoy. We both got the carrot slider, and it comes with a side of sweet potato hash spiced with rosemary. The sizable slider comes on a fluffy, lightly toasted english muffin that is a perfect fit. The guy who took our order suggested we use their garlic mayo(they had a few condiments out for patrons) and we happily obliged. I normally am not a mayo fan, but this stuff was delicious — the sharp garlic flavor really came through and complimented the spiced carrot patty really well. The hash was tasty as well(although I’m biased as I love me a sweet potato). I did wish I could have tasted more of the rosemary and I thought a little bit more salt and pepper would have brought the flavors out even more. The serving was plentiful; well worth the $ 8 price tag. I can’t wait to go back next week and sample some of their other dishes! The guy that took our order was friendly and funny and our order came out quickly. Check them out!

I visited the food truck this time. Why, oh why sweet humanity, if you’re serving sliders are they open faced off a food truck? They billed the farmers plate as garbage plate-esque. Good sirs garbage plates are considerable in size. This is a garbage plate amuse buoche. Especially if you are serving all veg, please let me leave satiated. I’d estimate that with the open faced English muffin you got 1⁄3 cup of slaw and a 1⁄3 cup sweet potato hash. I just can’t give them another try. My belly begs me not to. So does my bank account, 9 $ for a beet, some cabbage, some sweet tato and half a muffin. I did enjoy the watermelon rind relish, suspicious of the garlic mayo. I stuck my finger next to it and it didn’t seem the least bit refrigerated.

This food truck is definitely one-of-a-kind with their mainly vegetarian menu. Bonus points just for the name itself — creative, original, and clever. Don’t let the roots deter you from trying it, Carnivorians. I had the Irish ham and egg dish with sweet potato hash. I’m biased to sweet potatoes so it was good to me. I would definitely go back to try other dishes.

I kept hearing about LBF and am so happy I was finally able to try them. They came to Three Brothers Winery this past weekend. On my lunch break I ordered the Prime Beef Burger with provolone, bacon, grilled sweet peppers… holy crap was it delicious! Messy but delicious. Easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Their house garlic mayo is also amazing. I can’t wait to have LBF again — dying to try the carrot slider — many people at work got this and said it was equally as tasty!

I was so excited to finally try Lettuce B. Frank at the Food Truck Rodeo(although it’s more of a food cart haha). As the avid Unilocaler I am, the first thing I do before ordering food anywhere is to check out their Unilocal page for check-in offers… and Lettuce B. Frank has one! Turns out I was the first one ever to mention and redeem it. I had no problem receiving $ 1 off my sandwich! Now on to the food… I split the gyro sandwich with a friend. I loved that it came in an english muffin and not a pita. It was something different and it was a refreshing take on a gyro. The gyro meat was seasoned perfectly! Looking forward to trying out everything else on the menu when I am graced with Lettuce B. Frank’s presence again!

I love when they park their food truck outside of U of R so I can treat myself to their deliciousness of beet burgers, and carrot burgers, and homemade cookies, and yummy drinks. I would like to eat this food daily if I could.

Ok I wanted to really like this because I love the concept and would love to see more of this like in Vermont. But If your going to have a menu and 80-% of the vegetarian option on that menu are not available and a good portion of the other menu options are not available than you have a problem. How can you have no Salads at all on the menu? Really its prime time for some of the best greens around. The food we did have was pretty good, but not really groundbreaking, flat bread with turkey and a few greens and a decent sauce it was ok. I think they may need to decide if they want a food truck or store front because it seems like they are not ready for the store front. Hope you guy’s figure it out Hopeful supporter

This is tough to admit, but I didn’t enjoy my food or my experience. We waited a really long time. It was 1pm and the place was empty, and given that the store is based off a rapid-service style of food(food carts) we were really thinking fast would be part of the experience(we only get 30 minutes for lunch). Our food(for four) took 40 minutes from ordering to delivery to table, and the payment part is a whole separate issue. There was only one person staffing, and a rush of people came all at once about halfway through our time, but still… seemed unreasonable for the food that came out. We were each a little disappointed with our flatbreads. The housemade bread was very flat, like a tortilla with some thickness, grilled like a pizza, not rolled like a flatbread sandwich(that didn’t bug me, but it wasn’t the expected food based on the menu description). The«greens» atop the flatbread were 4 pieces of tatsoi. Points for it being a local green, but I think the menu description of «served with greens» was misleading, though technically accurate. The beet slider patties were filling, and the citrus white bean spread was yummy, but they didn’t mesh well and it was a lot of thick purée consistency. Ok, the bean spread actually overpowered me on the citrus, while I was still craving a more bold flavor on the whole. Would hope for more of a solid texture from one sandwich, er grilled flatbread, component. The meat flatbreads seemed awfully light on toppings, but the meatball panini was enormous and on thick fluffy not-baked-in-house roll. That was more like a sub/hoagie. There is a lot of creativity behind the menu, and Rochester certainly appreciates farm-to-foil, but it’s just not adding up to good food, and combined with poor service, I don’t think I’m ready to go back for a while. I want this place to stay in business, but I also believe in reviewing places so they’ll note what their customers want. Please patronize and review, too! That way we’ll know if this was an off experience or the norm. Don’t try to pay with credit, it is also a labor-intensive process.

Finally stopped here over my lunch break recently for the much-talked-about carrot sliders. I was really hoping for a five-star experience but that’s not what I got. The store is nice enough, although it looks like they are still unpacking some things, and there was enough seating for me to grab a table. I asked if the slider would be enough for my meal(it’s priced at only $ 6) and the employee at the counter assured me it was filling. He asked if I wanted pickled beets(not featured on the menu) and I said yes. No extra charge. Within 10 minutes I had three carrot sliders and an English muffin with pickled beets and sweet pepper catsup on a tray in front of me. I put all three sliders into the bun and took my first bite. I was hoping for crispy fritters but instead they were rather mushy. Nothing had very much flavor, even the pickled beets. It was filling enough, but I just wasn’t satisfied at the end. Also, no cups for water? He said they were trying to save on soap but are they really encouraging me to buy bottled water to save the environment? Thankfully I remembered I had my own water with me. I’m totally willing to try this restaurant(or the cart) again. I’ve heard such great things. When I do, I’ll be sure to update my review(and hopefully the star rating).

I was a big fan of the Lettuce B Frank food truck and their delicious veggie sliders for a long time, so I am super excited that the owner has a bistro now with an expanded menu. I’ve eaten here a few times, and I feel like the meals just keep getting better. My first visit I had the roasted squash and greens flatbread with a really flavorful white bean spread. It’s a vegan option that I think people of any diet could appreciate. My second visit I couldn’t help but get my favorite carrot slider which was served with some tasty garlic dill pickles & pickled beets that are pickled in-store(and available for purchase in mason jars, along with some other various sandwich toppings). I am not a fan of beets generally, but these weren’t overpowering and complemented the slider nicely. Lettuce B Frank also made me rethink english muffins, as I wasn’t expecting much(I think I was expecting the bland grocery store variety for the slider bun), but the brand they use is a good quality bread and works well. Desserts are very tasty, too — definitely try the oreo tiramisu or one of the revolving flavors of cake shots! I had a cosmopolitan cake shot a few weeks ago which is a cute little piece of cake in a cup with a triple sec chiffon, citrus vodka curd and a swirl of pomegranate frosting. I love cocktail themed cakes and this was a good one! Love the Farm to Foil concept and the bistro’s evolving menu options. Lettuce B Frank is just one of those restaurants that you just want to support. Definitely one of my new favorites in Rochester!

I have tried their food at their food truck a few times so when I heard they had a brick and mortar place I had to try them out. I always enjoyed the food, I love eating fresh, the price did always chap a bit. $ 8 for a relatively small burger seems like not so good a deal. You have to remember that everything on that burger is very high quality and very fresh, farm to foil as they say. I ordered a Izze grapw fruit $ 2, pepperoni slider $, 7black bean jalapeño fritters $ 5 and for dessert an Oreo tiramasu $ 4. One cool concept was that when I used my credit card, they took my email address and emailed the receipt. My Wallet is full of old receipts that are mostly faded and illegible, emailing it to me is genius! And, saves trees! So the owner/head chef Dave was training a new guy when I was there for lunch. I overheard him explaining about all the fFresh herbs and greens and what went on what dishes. There were also plenty of fresh flowers. There are only 4 tables, 2 people each, and your greeted by a display case full of drinks and desserts. Very enticing dessert I must say, and I don’t have a huge sweet tooth. Everything is recycled or washed so that was another check for me. Now the food! Fritters– Spicy but flavorful! They had a solid black bean taste coming through but it worked with the jalapeño. Neither over powered the other. I thought it was a great veggie option and a healthy option as well. Good variety of size and texture of the beans and the jalapenos, that work with the the breading to make a good texture. They are baked, which means healthy they are but fritters they were not. I needed a spoon to eat them as they fell apart easily and although I love that they were baked for health reasons, fritter says decadence, to me, it says rich, fried, crispy and they did not come through in that regard. Slider– Awesome! 2 mini english muffins. Very fresh ingredients like everything else. These especially had very crisp, very clean flavors. A single basil leaf hidden between the ricotta blended in house made red sauce and the melted mozzarella. The pepperoni did a good job with a bang of flavor. Tiramusu– Oreos instead of lady finger on the bottom. A strong rich coffee flavor, very rich. Light sweet cream sitting on top o the oreos soaked in patron… WOW. A strong earthy flavor with the coffee and liquor. This was all fantastic, my grapefruit soda was super refreshing and complimented everything well. It was all delicious with clean, strong flavors. My only concern is this. I had a drink, 2 savory dishes and a dessert. Now I skipped breakfast on purpose knowing I was going to be stopping by and I wanted to try multiple things. I walked in hungry, I also walked away hungry with a lunch check of $ 18. If you are looking for some great, fresh flavors give Lettuce B Frank a try, just be aware fresh food comes at a price.

A great addition to the neighborhood. I was not familiar with the food truck, but I heard about the bistro through friends and Unilocal.Everyone knows I am a meat lover, but I’ve been a little more health conscious lately, so I am actively trying discover some good vegetarian/vegan options in town. The bistro is easy to find, connected to the Cinema Theater and across from Highland Park Diner. Pretty basic set up inside, resembling more of a café than a sit-down restaurant. Their menu consists of Bites, Sliders, Melts & Flatbreads and Desserts. I went with the Carrot & Chickpea Fritters for a starter and the Turkey, Fuji Apple & Cheddar Cheese Flatbread. Both were good. The fritters were advertised to come with«Sweet Pepper Catsup», but tasted like regular ketchup to me. Mine were a little bit underdone though, so a little more crispness in texture would have gone a long way. Not a big deal, since the fritters were still delicious. The flatbread was simple, but amazing. It’s something that I should be able to replicate at home, but the combination of fresh ingredients and oven-toasted flatbread make me doubtful of this. Overall good lunch portions, but probably not enough for dinner.( ). Then, again the whole purpose of seeking out this restaurant was to discover delicious AND nutritious food. So portion control is a good thing. It also feels good to support a restaurant with the intent of providing healthy, local and sustainable food. I’ll be back soon enough to try more of their offerings.

Time for me to bring this great place up to a 5 star. After having the carrot sliders($ 6) twice and the black bean fritters($ 5), I just love it here. It’s a block from my house and the food is fantastic. The owner is incredibly friendly and passionate about what he does… the menu is constantly evolving. Delicious.

My current experimental vegetarian month has served as a reminder to try out new cooking at home and an opportunity to try some new restaurants in town. Lettuce B Frank was one of a couple places that opened my eyes and made me really appreciate not only vegetarian cooking but how my focus on meat could obscure some great options out there. Very impressed and will definitely be coming back again. Parking is a bit of a hassle on S Clinton but we grabbed a spot across the street at the abandoned gas station and had no issues with that. After getting into the cozy dining area and chatting with the chef for a few minutes, we ordered up their slider that was available at the time(black bean), sweet potato foccacia and the special of the day flatbread with egg and hummus. The foccacia was a great start to the meal accompanied by some strongly flavored rosemary olive oil and the combination was a hit. I could have asked for a touch more salt, but the flavor of the bread was just slightly sweet and tender with a slight chew and quite enjoyable. Although veggie burgers are often a disaster, the black bean sliders were anything but. Tons of flavor, well seasoned with spices and salt and baked in the oven they were easily the best non meat burger I’ve had. Clean tasting and it packed a punch without sacrificing the healthy aspects of the patties. Despite the fact that I hate the standard English muffin, the version he used had great density, clean flavor and worked really well with the strong black bean patties. Awesome stuff overall. The only minor misstep during the meal was with the flatbread with hummus and egg. Just a cooked a touch too much for my tastes which left the egg well done and the hummus a bit dry. Flavors were solid though and it wasn’t a disaster by any means. Nice place, pleasant conversations and tasty foods makes this somewhere I’ll be back again and again for some quick, delicious and conscious eats. Yum!

The sandwich gods must be smiling upon me. This is the second place so far this month that has made me rethink my dismissal of sandwiches as serious food. I have been trying to find the Lettuce B. Frank food cart for a while, but it never panned out, so I’m pleased that they now have a home base. The Lettuce B. Frank menu is something I feel was much needed in the area; inventive, convenient, and feel-good. I don’t think that there was a single item on the menu that I didn’t want to try. I was really happy with the squash panini and can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. They serve the panini on Georgie’s bread and it is really perfect– crispy with out tearing up the roof of your mouth, not overly bready, but substantial enough to make your sandwich a meal. As if I wasn’t happy enough, the fact that the location is connected to the cinema is so great. You can carry out your meal to make it in time to see a movie next door. This food/movie combo is something I have been wanting in Rochester for a long time!

Local, sustainable, affordable, super veg-friendly — Lettuce B. Frank has it all. And you can bring the amazing sandwiches and desserts into the Cinema; total win-win. The owner is such a nice guy and I’m really happy he chose this location. He said the food truck will be out front Friday and Saturday evenings starting in April; I can’t wait to go back to get things from the grill. But for now — I’m totally happy with the turkey/apple/cheddar sandwich, and the sweet potato focaccia bread is a must-try for $ 3! There’s only a few small tables inside, but most people get take-out.

I just discovered Lettuce B. Frank which is next to the Cinema Theater! Loved the roasted squash sandwich! The carrot sliders are great, too. I am vegan, so I am psyched to find a Vegan-friendly spot! Love that their recipes are all made with sustainable ingredients.

I made a pitstop at Lettuce B. Frank during the Food Truck Roundup in Henrietta a few months back. I admit I was apprehensive at first. My boyfriend was urging us to go here first, saying their Carrot Slider is sooo good after trying it for the first time at Boulderfest. I didn’t believe him and was pining over some poutine. But, in the interest of trying something new I walked over with him to order a carrot burger. HOLYCOW. err CARROT! Amazing. I could give up meat for this sandwich concoction of flavor packed goodness. They have their own mayos and dill pickles. I added both to my sandwich and it was perfect. I need to start keeping an eye out for their stand because it’s been awhile since my last visit and it’s time for another!
