Amazing is an understatement. I have never had treats from them i wouldnt recommend. Everything from cookies to cakes is made from scratch from family recipes. Apple and pumpkin pies i ordered for thanksgiving where such a hit that a family fight almost occurred over who was going to get the last piece. Carrot cake is my fave, a perfect blend of sweet and creamy. The peanut butter balls are the hubby’s favorite, rich and filling, he’s not a big sweets person, but if i come home with a JonJohn’s container i better have something for him. Love this local bakery that really does bake their love into every single item.

Saw JonJohn’s bakery stand at Brighton Farmers Market. They had many types of muffins, cookies and chocolate cake — all of which looked so great and tempting but I went with the peach cobbler. $ 5 for a very large container — 2 – 3 servings which was a great deal. The peaches were so fresh but I overall found the cobbler a little bland. I am used to a Southern style cobbler — extra sweet with lots of butter. Their cobbler is a little less rich but I did like the freshness of the peaches. Really looking forward to returning and trying some of their other bakery items especially their chocolate cake and blueberry muffins.

I ordered a cake from JonJohns this weekend for a party and my experience working with these guys was fantastic. They are super friendly and accommodating — always makes for a nice experience! I ordered an 8″ Red Velvet cake for 8 people. It was huge(2 gigantic layers), and absolutely delicious. Would certainly recommend them for any special occasions.

I went to the Farmer’s market and got a slice of the lemon dream cake, chocolate cake, and carrot cake. Little did I know I just bought the most delicious cake I have ever tasted in my LIFE! First of all, both Jon and John are such kind people and answered my onslaught of «what’s this» questions. I thought I was getting a slice but the portion was HUGE! It was very generous and filled the square clam shell box from edge to edge. I shared all the cakes with friends and family and they were all impressed. The lemon cake was all kinds of amazing with the smoothness from the lemon pudding and the creaminess from the whipped cream. The chocolate cake was so moist but not too sweet or heavy. The carrot cake was perfectly pair with the best cream cheese frosting I have ever tasted and each bite had a burst of sweet raisin. I am a huge dessert fan and JonJohn’s cakes are at the top of my list. I sent a friend to bring back a lemon dream cake and dream pie, which I can not wait to try. I went on vacation and forgot to place my cake order ahead of time, but they were kind enough to rush my order. Thank you guys so much! You’re the best!

This set of bakers — John and Jon — are as sweet and lovely as their baked goods. Grandma’s Breakfast Cake is a favorite but with so many other scrumptious cakes, cookies and sweets to choose from its hard to leave with just one item. The peanut butter balls are addicting and you really can’t eat just one. Peach cobbler and blueberry cake are seasonal favorites that are a welcomed sight on a warm summer day. Truly wonderful baked goods all made with fresh, quality ingredients with great care and a heaping spoonful of love.

I’m hit or miss with going to the various farmer’s markets we have. Between working late and not being an early riser, I have a tendency to miss out on some local market weekends. If you’re like me and you wonder if going to a market is worth it after all the produce has been picked through? Do yourself a favor and go if JonJohn’s is there. Typically they come with several staples including muffins(the berry ones are my favorite), the famous beyond chocolate cake(probably the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had), cookies(oatmeal craisin may be my favorite cookie… but I’ve never had a bad one), and my favorite: the peanut butter balls(dark chocolate, rice crisps, peanut butter, and chocolate chips). Depending on the market and the weekend, they offer other things too. From seasonal goodies like strawberry lemonade(perfect and not overly sweet!), to hot dogs and chili, it’s worth looking at their Facebook page to see what they are going to offer. And the other big selling point? Jon and John are really, really nice. I’ve been dropping by on and off for the past 3 years, and they still know who I am… even if I go awhile without making it. All of their employees are friendly, so if you drop by for the first time — don’t be shy. Ask them what they recommend! In the summer, catch JohnJon’s at the West Side, Brighton, and Wedge Markets. If you’re overwhelmed with the choices, I suggest starting with the peanut butter balls. Just don’t buy them all out before I get there. :)
