Land’s End

The customer service and the brand would get five stars, we had a great customer service experience here at the Lands End Inlet.
As for the merchandise, well, I can imagine it’s a hit or miss. You sort of have to just schlep through things and hope for your size/​style to pop up and in a color you’re interested in.
You’re in great luck if you want a tote with someone else’s name on it! I understand those graced with patience can nimbly unstitch said wrong name and have a generic bag. OR you might get REALLY lucky and snag a bag (or shirt or robe) with your name or initials already on it.
There were some good deals on towel sets, IF you could stand the color selections. Ditto sheet sets, and, er, with other people’s initials embroidered on.
The savings for flawed/​imperfect items was not that much in my opinion. At least now you know where all those rejected gifts people get go, thanks to Lands End great return policy. And speaking of, I had a PolarFleece vest from Lands End from last season and the zipper broke. They researched to find one, only to come up with the latest model. They took my broken garment and within a few weeks, shipped me a brand new one at no charge. Wow, that is awesome customer service. No wonder folks are loyal to the brand.
As for this Inlet, I’ll probably pass next time and stick with the catalog.

This place is for me very hit or miss. If you are in the range or «normal» sizes then you will probably be able to get a decent deal on some basics (pants, khakis, polos, tees, fleece).
The store is divided into the area that has the basics and current catalog offerings: women’s, men’s, kid’s, with a few home items sometimes, and these sometimes have sales; and then the area where you may really find good stuff, the returns or defects that are in the back of the store and have bigger markdowns.
The selection varies greatly at different times, so you may not find anything on your next visit but if you are in the area it’s a quick stop to check your sizes for a good deal.

Have normal items, but have lots of mistakes and older items. Great deals. Some strange stuff, like bad monograms. Maybe you will get lucky and find your name. But other returned items are really good deals.

Lands End reminds me of my grandma which is neither here nor there. You can have a hilarious time making up your own meaning to their monogrammed rejects.
