Great!!! The service was excellent and the food tasty. A large cheesesteak easily fed two adults. Will be back!

It was my first time eating here and I was pleasantly surprised how delicious and true the cheesesteak was. It seemed like a family run joint which is really nice because you know they care about their customers and the service. When I walked in the kid behind the counter walked me through the menu and how everything works. Overall, awesome sandwich, hip atmosphere. Definitely going back… Once I digest this massive cheesesteak.

We were completely WOW’d at Jesery. Jo’s. This was our first visit to Rochester and to Jersey Jos. The gentleman asked us if was our first time and had the patience to walk us thru the menu. When the food arrive it was all freshly made to order. The portion size was very good. The bread was toasted just right. Everything was so delish. The gentleman that took our order came around and asked how it was. He took a few minutes to chat with us and told us how much he appreciated our comments. Since my brother in law was going to be there another week while his wife is at the hospital, I decided to grab him a gift certificate so he didn’t have to eat at the cafeteria all the time. They were out of the denomination I was looking for so he gave me the next on at no additional charge and said Merry Christmas. Keep up the great work.

Being a Philadelphia native for 46 years moved 4 years to fargo north dakota it was nice to find a place that served steaks I remember. Most places here use a sub roll but they use a roll from Philadelphia. They use the correct steak and don’t put peppers like most places call a philly cheese steak. They use provolone or wiz which is proper for a sandwich in the city. If you want a true taste of a philly cheese steak this place does it right.

Was not impressed with the food or the timeliness of getting the food. It took well over 25 minutes to get two subs. The shaved steak seemed over seasoned and salted, possibly masking the quality of meat used. The drink size that comes with the combo was something off a kids menu. The fries were soggy in texture. Overall, not a very satisfying meal. For the cost of two combos I can get more bang for my buck and better quality of food at Tinn’s. We won’t be going back to Jersey Jo’s.

So the owner follows up via comment with a passive aggressive«SORRY»(how he stated it, quotes and everything.) He reminded me that his restaurant is very busy during lunch hours, which is understandable. My complaint was never really with the length of wait for delivery, my complaint was regarding A. items missing from my order, B. the poor customer service we experienced. Jo reminded me that we could have addressed the problem directly to him when it happened, I should remind him that I did, we called him right after the delivery was made to let him know about the missing items at which point he informed us that we were out of luck as they were unable or unwilling to come out and deliver them, but if we bring our receipts we can pick them up next time(yeah…thanks). You know, all he had to say is sorry, we’ll do better next time, I might have even removed the original bad review if he had done that, but instead he chose to be rude again. Caveat emptor does not apply to the saturated restaurant market. After again asking me to bring in my receipt, Jo states«THEVALIDITYOFYOURSTATEMENTSCOMETOQUESTION». Calling your customers liars when they call you out on bad service doesn’t make for good business. Running a restaurant is hard work, it’s a tough business, I hate writing bad reviews for small places, but when someone REALLY deserves it, I don’t mind letting them know. At the end of the day we never got the items we paid for, and the sandwich we did get was… eh. The meat was ok but there was almost no cheese on it at all. My one star review stands.

My guess is the negative reviews are from the owners of Tinn’s restaurant which serves a joke of a sandwich… Awesome place with great service, will be going back!

This place will be a Rochester staple within a year. One of the friendliest owners in town and knows his way around the sandwich biz. Popped in tonight to try it out and ordered a 12″ cheesesteak with jalapeños. Jersey Joe said that he would make it extra spicy for me and he delivered — my mouth is still tingling an hour after eating. The bread was perfectly toasted and had a generous helping of mayonnaise(never order a cheesesteak without mayo). He also recommended getting cheese whiz on the sandwich instead of provolone — absolute magic. I’ll be a repeat customer for sure with service like this. Great work, really enjoyed this cheesesteak!

I walked over from St. Mary’s because my wife who had surgery last week was sick of hospital food. Ordered an Italian sub and said no mayo. The guy taking my order asked 2 times«No mayo on either one?» I said that is right. I got back to the hospital, they both had mayo. I walked back. As soon as I walked in, I got an apology from the guy making the subs saying they didn’t tell him no mayo until after I left. An apology but not even an offer of a coupon or discount. Got back to the hospital. Not only did the leave off the mayo, but there were no pickles or peppers on it this time. I was not about to walk back again. Boring sandwich. I hope they get their act together. I won’t recommend or go back.

Checked this out as a new spot here in Rochester. Its a DAMNGOOD Sandwich… I had the pastrami and mushroom, my wife had the steak sub with mushroom. Its a hot well made sandwich, The owner suggested that we try it with the Mayo, as I am not a fan of it. But I must say, the sandwich tasted great. I will be going back here again. They are also open late on weekends, so you have more options for late night cravings than just Taco Bell… 4 Stars

Open less than a week, stopped in for a philly, a drink, and fries… The iced tea machine was either out or broken and several of the soda choices had paper on them saying out of order. Fryers were«broke,» so no fries. So I walked out with my way-overpriced sandwich and brought it back to work. It was hot, which was good, and bad. The sandwich was sealed in tinfoil and had basically steamed the bun into mush. My fault there I guess for not eating in. However, the overall taste of the sandwich was amazing. I’ll give them another chance and see how the fries are, eat the sandwich there, etc. It would also be nice if the employees’ friends weren’t hanging around yelling back and forth while customers are trying to order food.

I’m not sure where to start. First off if you didn’t know, almost everything on the menu comes with mayo on it. This is not listed as a topping but comes slathered unannounced on both sides of the burgers at jersey jo’s. If the only way to redeem your dry bland patty is to coat it in mayo than maybe you shouldn’t even make burgers. We ordered delivery. Which is no excuse for soggy buns and fries. In general of you are thinking about ordering food from here, just get Tinns instead.

It’s good food for what is available in Rochester after 11pm. Also they didn’t spit in my food.

This was by far the worst sandwich experience I’ve ever had. Upon walking into this blank looking restaurant it looked like there was some sandwich pieces on the table which were very old. The menu had much the same as every other sandwich shop in Rochester specifically Tinns but with far less variety. We stayed and ordered philly sandwiches to go anyway and we both got very ill after eating. I think I had half of this sandwich before throwing it away, the meat was chewy and looked as though it had been over cured. I’m not sure this was even beef. This place may cater to those 2am after bar crowds because they’re too drunk to realize they’re eating garbage. We will never go back to this place and severely miss the previous establishment at this location.

Second time ordering from here in less than a week and needless to say I beyond satisfied. Ordered the both the chicken philly and regular philly. Each sandwich was well seasoned and good to the last bite. Never understood all the hype about Tinn’s but it’s great to know that Rochester finally has philly sandwich worth craving!
