I use to really like this place. When I was younger, my friends and I would always go there. After the ownership change, I’ve seen it go downhill. A few weekends ago, my friend and I waited in line for a half hour to then be kicked out of line because we asked how long it would be till we went in. They let about 20 people out and still wouldn’t let us in. The«security» guy was just a jerk, plain and simple. I would go back to Filgers if that security guy was not there.

Football Sunday and there was hardly anyone there. No freaking caramel habanera sauce… SADNESS. We were also told they don’t really have wait staff anymore? Their menu online does not match the menu onsite? We ordered wings half medium/half sweet and forgot to ask for them well done/crispy but they were, and they were delicious. We ordered another dozen BBQ and did order them well done/crispy and they weren’t? The pickle chips were thin circles, crunchy and good, sometimes the breading fell off. The jalapeño poppers on the menu with cream cheese were with cheddar, but good sized, well cooked and yum. The veggie sandwich(pick your own veggies) on a hard roll, came on a baguette version of a sub roll. The vegetables were not what was ordered but we managed. Some of the potato chips were oddly limp and moist. Altogether an odd experience, the staff were friendly though.

The place has a good selection of beer and very pleasant bartenders, but there’s a «security» guy there who is borderline insane. Three of us went there one evening, had 3 beers each and were KIcked Out for«being too drunk». Basically, we watched the little security man go around and harass just about every African-American male who came in there and kick them out if they talked to white girls. This was very disturbing to us since no one else seemed to be targeted. After a while, we were goofing around tossing a napkin around, bouncing it back and forth and when I went up to get a beer, little security man gives me some line followed by «Yer Done». At first I didn’t believe it, but if you see they guy, you will. I then asked to speak to his manager and he replied«It won’t work». I asked the manager what the policy was for being kicked out and he said«acting rude, causing fights» etc. None of which we had done. I asked him why We were being thrown out and he simply said because his Guy said so. He had no reason other than that. We had done nothing even remotely wrong, other than goofing around, having fun, which I guess is enough to cause Mr. Security to get all up in people’s faces. My friends and I will never even step foot in this place again thanks to this fool who clearly derives pleasure from running this bar like it’s a Study Hall. Stay away, unless your idea of a good time is sitting quietly in a bar obeying a man with no life.

Had a business meeting here. Great prices. The buffalo chicken tender salad was the way to go. Nice city bar atmosphere inside.

Michelle is a phenomenal bar tender! She always knows when you need another drink and I never go thirsty here! Wings are great and there is an awesome selection of drinks here. Highly recommended for anyone on East End.

Some of the best bar food around! Seriously. The jalapeño poppers are unreal and the mozz sticks are some of the best I’ve had, perfectly cooked. Huge selection of beers from all over so they’ve definitely got something to please your tastebuds. The burgers are out of this world and the fish fry is something to go out of your way for!

Filgers is about the 9th reincarnation of this bar and is very much the same as the previous setup that was MacGreggors. I had some poutine and wings while watching the champions league final and both were very good. Drinks are average — I am not a beer person, but they have about 50 different beers on tap. It is still the best setup in Rochester as far as TVs go for watching a game, or multiple games. Service was solid, much busier than they had expected so it was a bit slow. They also let us wear our horse masks during the Belmont.
