Fairfield Inn by Marriott

Hotel was okay for the price we paid for our room. Two problems, first the shower. The handle wasn’t lined up correctly and you got really hot water or really cold water. The other was the free breakfast. The warm food was lukewarm or cold. Waffle maker was broken. Also out of oatmeal and bacon. I’m sure the health department would have an issue with the cold scrambled eggs and bacon

We were in my husband’s hometown and we had decided to stay at the hotels instead of our in-​laws for the fact we were in town for our friends’ wedding events. That meant a lot of space, ironing, and bathroom time was required and the accommodation of having our own personal space at the hotel was more than ideal. We had stayed at here for two nights before switching over to the Rochester Airport Marriott across the street as the wedding reception and parties were to be held there.
This is one of the newer hotels but very simple for its price. If you’re looking to impress– the Airport may be for you but if you’re looking for simple accommodations like a room and free breakfast… the Fairfield is the better one.
The reason why I’m stating this is I had learned that the Rochester Airport Marriott does NOT offer complimentary breakfast like the Fairfield. I questioned why and learned that due to the fact the Airport has a full bar & Starbucks (not complimentary either) allows their guests to enjoy their buzz without going out. The Airport also has an indoor pool, hot tub, gym, etc– it has it’s luxury perks, but I didn’t think to bring my swimsuit in the middle of November.
Our Fairfield experience was very pleasant and cozy that I was surprised as I’ve had worst experiences at other hotels at the same price range as this one. The complimentary breakfast was really good– they offered both hot and cold breakfast options– nothing too fancy but waffles and cinnamon raisin bagels were definitely offered. The scrambled eggs were really good, too.
When we come back to Rochester for a visit or wedding… I’d definitely come back to the cheaper hotel— THIS FAIRFIELD INN.
Just because a hotel costs more doesn’t mean it’s any better than the basic hotel that offers a free breakfast and free coffee. Yes, I do love my breakfast and coffee the minute I wake up.

This used to be a Courtyard by Marriott. But they’ve updated it. Free breakfast, comfy beds, clean rooms. They have a small pool and workout room, hence the 4 stars.
There is a hot tub though.
Our room had a mini fridge and microwave. The shower had a rainfall shower head with excellent water pressure. The breakfast area was still hopping at 9 am with plenty of options.
We’d stay here again!
