Food over priced telling people that they now charge for soup or salad dinners are alacarte they should have kept it the same and just raised the dinners looks like they could not handle the wage increase help is not happy

I have eaten here many times. Food is always ok but service always lacks. Dined in recently and service was dismissive and slow. We have also ordered take out a few times and the order is always messed up. I work in the restaurant industry and have never been compelled to write a review. We called in a to go order recently and the girl on the phone seemed unsure of the menu and just, honestly, not well trained. The phone and the hostess stand are the first impression of a restaurant. I felt uncomfortable ordering my to go, but still did. Ultimately, the order was wrong, and I should have gone with my gut feeling from the impression made by whom ever was answering the phone. Will not make this expensive, over priced mistake again. Asked for a printed, detailed receipt and the poor girl couldn’t even produce that.

Overpriced, overcooked, under seasoned. Very disappointing experience. First mistake, I chose to sit at the bar since I was alone. They did not warn me that they do not staff for that. I ordered the $ 25 strip steak. I received a ½ cup serving of soup, tasty, but very small. I got the steak and 3 heads of broccoli on my plate. If it had been seasoned, or salt made available it may have passed as average. But, no such luck. Steak quality was not on par with price. This will be my only visit to Davinci.

My husband and I went here because my mother gave us a Groupon. The fact that they have Groupons to garner up business is a not a good sign… I had been to this restaurant before, but had not been in many years. It’s in a suburban plaza. There is nothing special about the décor inside — it’s pretty dated. They brought out DINNERROLLS(obviously previously frozen). What kind of an Italian restaurant serves DINNERROLLS? I was confused as to why they have bottle of olive oil on the tables when they serve dinner rolls. We both had pasta dishes that were decent, but nothing special. They were WAY over priced. I could have made the same dish at home for a couple bucks. We noticed the waitress told the table next to us the specials. She never mentioned the specials to us. I used a debit card to pay the bill. The total with the tip was $ 28.25. When I checked my transactions with my bank I see they rounded it up to $ 29. I know it’s only $ 0.75, but that is not the point. The point is they charged me for more than I signed for. I will never step foot in this restaurant ever again.

We love this restaurant! We have been many times now and it’s always consistently good. Delicious sauce and gnocchi(my favorite!), salad, soup, desserts, everything we’ve had! I love that they are generous with their coupons, too. Excellent Italian food here and a nice atmosphere!

On the advice of our hotel(Holiday Inn Express) we tried Davinci’s Italian Restaurant. I was a little worried because there were some negative review but my friend and I both love Italian Food so we decided to try it for ourselves. OUTSTANDING. Both of us had dishes we had never had before. I had Veal Dijon, Veal, artichoke hearts, mushrooms and a cream sauce. My boss jad Chicken Davinci. The service was great, very personable waitresses. The Chicken Escarole Soup was out of this world. The décor was pleasant. Try it you will not be disappointed. I am sorry for the person who Valentine day was ruin. That was two years ago and to me this restaurant deserves another chance.

The worst pasta I’ve ever had in my life– a doughy disaster. They do not make their pasta fresh at all. It is all frozen. It is simply awful. I complained to the staff and they proceeded to argue with me. Poor service– poor food– disrespectful staff.

My wife and I live around the corner from this place. We often use this place as a date night when we can get out. Growing up, a friend of mine owned an Italian restaurant in South Florida. The food he made was second to none! Davinci’s of Greece is the closest thing to that I have found since moving to Rochester. I usually get chicken parmesan or ask them if they can make me chicken marsala(they always say yes and it is always amazing). The staff is always top notch and we will continue to eat there, as time and money permit. Awesome place to eat!

Haven’t had a bad meal there yet. Quiet atmosphere, cozy. Had haddock casino and it was cooked perfectly. Partner had grilled salmon on cedar and it was excellent. Servers all very nice.

I would give Davinci’s 3.5 stars. The outside of the plaza looks a little shabby, but it is nice on the inside. The interior is warm, with candles on the table, earth toned walls with some pillars, white table cloths, etc. It is nice, but people showed up in jeans too. My experience was with a party of 12+. The dinner was paced for about 2 hours, starting with fresh rolls, and beverages. The wine list was pretty extensive, and they also have a nice little insert of after-dinner drinks as well(espresso, limoncello, etc.) We all had either a soup or a salad, and then waited for about 45 minutes for the entrées to arrive. I am going to be honest, it takes a lot for an Italian restaurant to impress me, just because I was fortunate to grow up with Italian cooking. I had the ravioli($ 15), and it was good, but nothing that really blew my mind. I didn’t take photographs because I didn’t want to be rude to the dinner party, but in terms of appearance, the spaghetti and meatballs looked appealing, as did the chicken/shrimp scampi dishes. The gnocchi did not look appetizing at all. Other members of the party had salmon that arrived on a wooden plank, and it was served with a side of broccoli, hollandaise and penne pasta with tomato sauce. If I were to come back, I would see what their veal parmasean was all about($ 22). The portion sizes were good, I was able to finish my ravioli, but a lot of people took leftovers home with them. The restaurant has lunch hours 11:30am-2:00pm, and then they close and reopen for dinner(4:30−9), or 4 – 8 if it is a Sunday. *Note the menu on the website was different than the menu that I was given at the restaurant. I do not know if this is because I was with a larger party or not.

Avoid this disaster calling itself a restaurant. The people writing good things must either be employees, or do not get out much. Davinci’s ruined our Valentines Day a few years ago. They made us wait, even though the place was dead. Then, they sat us next to the kitchen. We should have known when we saw the couple next to us leave while waiting for their order. Not only was the food WAY overpriced, but it was awful. That was not sauce — it was ketchup with a few spices. There definitely was no Italian grandma or her recipe back there. The chicken in the chicken parm was clearly not fresh, and the bread on the side was rock hard. They served the food, but neglected to bring silverware to eat it with. It took them 12 minutes to come back with silverware. Then they never returned to refill drinks or check on us. Again, it was not busy. We left $ 100 broker, and still hungry. Davinci’s was awful. Never again. There are plenty of great Italian restaurants in the area.

I was so pleasantly surprised when I walked in. Davinci’s is located in a plaza and looks very ordinary from the outside. Step through the front door though and the interior is designed to look rather«Italian villa» and one of the focal points of the room is a beautiful large fireplace(especially wonderful on a cold Rochester night). The service was friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. I loved the seafood bisque and my friends all enjoyed their pasta dishes, which were big enough that they all had leftovers. The homemade desserts were also very tasty. All in all a great dinner in a cozy atmosphere.

Very mediocre. Does not justify high price. Salad was clearly out of refrigerated or even thawed bag, was full of waater. Pasta and sauce tasteless. Special fish was fresh but bathed in oil. Lazania and veal saltimboca received praise and somewhat tempered disapointment. Wait staff were friendly. We won’t come again.

A bit of an odd location but because my grandparent’s anniversary was being held here, I had no choice but to try it out. Like I stated in the first sentence, it was a bit odd that this exquisite restaurant was located in Stone Ridge Plaza… a strip of stores of all places, but the interior begged to differ. Walking in, the décor was very traditional with prominent beige and white coloring throughout, neutral but pleasant. What caught my eye was the large fireplace just as you enter the building. It wasn’t being used at the time but I hope that it is because it would be a waste if such well thought-out design was just left to rot but that is just what I think. We arrived around 4:15pm just about the time they opened so we got to be the first diners of the evening. The table was well decorated with a white cloth and expensive glass wear, all filled with ice water. The complementary bread was fabulous but I did think the crusts were a bit hard. I really didn’t have that much bread because I had ordered an Italian Wedding Soup with my Chicken Parmesan which arrived before the meal. I thought I would hate it but I enjoyed the nice rich flavors of the vegetables and meat that I finished it in just a few minutes. While most of my family had the Veal Parmesan, I went with the Chicken since I have had such great luck with it at other Italian establishments. I can happily say it didn’t disappoint. This was quite a large piece of chicken but it was beautifully presented and the cheese was just perfect for me. The penne pasta under the dish was drenched in the tomato sauce but still was tasty enough for me to finish it. The food overall was wonderful as the rest of the family can agree on but it is pricey. I would NOT go here alone or with one person without bringing a hefty amount of cash with me. The atmosphere is pleasant if you go early on a weekend but even though it can be somewhat noisy, it didn’t distract me at all. Service? It wasn’t terrible at all and the waitresses and waiter’s did an excellent job serving all nine of us without any problems… not to mention they all dressed very formally. I would be more then happy to come back here with all the positivity I experienced, just with my credit card on standby.

My wife and I have been here a couple of times and we think the food is really good. Our servers were very good and the prices are reasonable. The room is kind of open so it’s not real private but it’s nice. We’ll definitely be back.

It’s been years since I’ve dined at DaVinci’s so the wife and I thought it would be a nice place to go for our anniversary dinner this past weekend. We made reservations for 7:30, arrived a little early and were promptly seated. There were several larger parties around us and it was a bit noisy but still a nice atmosphere. We skipped the appetizers and went straight to the entrée’s. I had Veal Parm with a side of Fettuccine Alfredo. The veal was pretty thin and in two perfectly equal squares with a piece of cheese melted on top of each. Presentation was not very appealing but it was quite tasty with a really good marinara sauce. The Fettuccine Alfredo was quite generous for a side dish and was delicious. I know my wife had a Veal dish as well and as sad as this sounds I don’t recall exactly what it was but she seemed to enjoy it. Sorry, don’t recall the exact dish and didn’t take pics… new to this Unilocal thing. Overall it seemed the portions were a little small for the prices but the meals were tasty.

I second the Mrs! Food was outstanding and the staff were happy to help out with any complaints or a speedy departure once the little one had tapped out and it was full blown crab time.

Not sure what all the negative comments are from all the others. The food was fresh and outstanding. When we didn’t care for one of our drinks she was happy to change it. The staff was awesome! So faced with the choice of nasty chain after chain… DUH go here.

I probably have a few labels. Conformist is not one of them. I unconsciously take the path less traveled. Davinci’s is off the primary path and seemingly light years from the popular spots found east of downtown. This was my first trip to Davinci’s. It’s apparent that the restaurant is well established. The crowd appeared to be regulars. No one was there for happy hour chatter on this rainy Thursday night. The restaurant is well maintained and traditional in style and décor. The Davinci’s staff is capable. Our Server was a bit short in responses, something that generally pisses me off. The menu is extensive. The calamari is fantastic, as are the baked artichokes. The dinner rolls reminded me of years gone by. They were tasty. The Cedar Planked Salmon looked great. The Seafood Diablo looked fantastic. I had the evening special, Baked Haddock. It was filling, but a little on the bland side.(I knew better). When veering off the primary path, the stakes are higher. Sometimes you win big. Sometimes you go home broke. For last night, I’ll call it just under even. Expect Great Things.
