I traveled to Rochester for a few days for the Mrs. NY pageant. I had some down time before the events of the pageant so I looked around for some possible places to get some exercise. There are a lot of options in Rochester. I chose Bally’s because it was close and they only charged $ 5 for a day pass. Caroline was very helpful and courteous. She even provided free passes for anyone else involved with the pageant that may be interested in exercising as well. In terms of the facility, it has everything you need: squat racks, low traffic, benches, free weights, stretching areas, classes, cycling, general fitness room, day care, cardio machines, locker room, and weight machines. It is nothing fancy in terms of presentation; it smells and looks like a converted warehouse that is poorly lit. However, if you are looking to workout while Rochester, I recommend it.

Nice gym, especially for the money. Gyms are aplenty in Rochester, so don’t be afraid to haggle. It’s clean, it’s big, it’s air-conditioned and it has a sauna. For those with kids, there’s a play room with supervision, so no excuses. Good mix of free weights, machines and treadmills/cardio. They also have free classes almost every night. There are specials all the time, so keep your eye out for a $ 10/month deal. It did lose a star, however, due to the naked guy who is always shaving in the locker room.
