Warning: avoid the hemming service. I have no problems with the dry cleaning services. The prices are good and everything has come back as expected. But, please avoid this place for hemming needs. I should have gone to my mom’s tailor who only charged her $ 15 on a similar, simple, straight dress hem. I should have walked away when the woman quoted me $ 28 for the same service. In fact I almost did, but she matched my price. Unfortunately the hem work was very unexpected. 1) the biggest shock is the addition of black lace at the inside bottom of the seam. I did not ask for it. And it will definitely show through the white section of my dress or when I sit and it drapes and folds to reveal the lace. 2) also the black thread on both dresses was a poor choice, but if that was the only issue I’d probably have let go 3) the line is pretty uneven and ragged. Again, I’m not hugely picky person so I could have also let that also go. Overall, the person doing this job probably thought that they were doing something nice, but I consider it a public service duty to warn folks who are accustomed to more customary tailoring work. My husband gave them jeans to have hemmed, so I’ll be picking them up tomorrow. I keep imagining them coming back with black lace added on. Haaaaaa.
