I bought a gingerbread soldier from Woullet’s for my son’s xmas sock since they were one and three years old(now young men). The cookies were decorated like little soldiers and were expensive but extremely detailed. Then the decorating became less detailed. After that they stopped with the soldiers and only offered santa. Now Santa’s decorations are not detailed and they are more expensive then ever! The prices are ridiculous and it’s interesting that the staff can work with their noses up in the air. I finely found some holiday cookies for our traditional sock cookie at Lunds… The bread and sweet are good, not good enough to justify the price, and with the staff better then the rest of us I won’t miss Wuolet’s! Maybe they could go organic that might bring some customers back.

came here for early breakfast before skipping town after a wonderful vacation in Minne. Got the raspberry cheese danish and it was AMAZING. Also got husband some coffee and a treat that he liked; also got a pack of norwegian toast for family. The toast was good but overpriced at $ 10 for basically 10 biscotti. Service was fine and would give this place 4 stars if it was a teensy bit cheaper or if they’d had their outdoor tables set out half an hour after they opened. :D

Purchased a chocolate soufflé cake for pick up for my man’s welcome home party from overseas. The cake was ready on time and the service was great, however the quality of the product left much to be desired. The cake was fairly dry and the chocolate flavor was rather bland. For the price and reputation of this location, I’d hoped for better. Thankfully, I enjoyed a discount via living social or I would have been more sour about the experience.

This is a great little bakery that really takes customer service to the next level. Me, being a guy, had no idea how to design a birthday cake for my fiancé and they really helped guide me through options and ultimately said they would take care of it and really came through with an amazing cake! We had the white 8″ round cake with the butter cream frosting! Let me tell you they don’t skimp on frosting! It was to die for. Highly recommend giving their cake a try for your next occasion!

To be fair I’ve only had their cupcakes, but they are perfect! We plan on using them for our wedding cake and loved all the samples we tried. Highly recommended!

I’ve been hearing all sorts of wonderful things about Wuolet Bakery, so, with a houseguest from out of town in tow, I went there this afternoon to try it out. Let’s just say that I was less than impressed. First of all, $ 2.95 for a butter croissant??? I think not! They don’t cost that much in a café on the Champs Elysee in Paris(Was just there not long ago, so I know!). Obviously, I passed that option up. Instead, I opted for their so-called«apple strudel.» Ive just eaten it, and as someone who lived for a few years in Austria, the home of Apfelstrudel, I know what strudel is. And this piece of pastry I’ve just had bears no resemblance to the real thing. It was, at best, a reasonably good danish using puff pastry as the crust. The filling had no more than five or six tiny pieces of apple inside because the main component of the filling was chopped walnuts of all things! It was tasty enough and the spicing was roughly correct — cinnamon and nutmeg — but real strudel NEVER has nuts in it; rather, the other major ingredient other than apples is raisins. Rasins. NOT walnuts! And finally there was the form. To make a real strudel, you make a very thin, stretchable dough that when finished is a good three feet long and about 15 inches wide. The filling goes on top, and it’s rolled like a jellyroll, A slice usually ends up about 8 inches wide, 1 ½−2 inches wide, and 1 ½ inches high. And sprinkled with confectioner’s sugar, of course.(Here’s a link to an authentic recipe — with pictures! ) Final word: Things seem to be tasty enough, but they’re both overpriced and often not what they say say they are. Even though I live less than a mile away, I doubt I’ll ever go back. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a rip-off.

The last two visits there have been awful, and I’m not going back. First bought a cake with a fondant that was over-laden with almond flavoring to the point of being inedible. The second visit was for a carrot cake that was virtually flavorless. And on both occasions the server was extremely unfriendly, acting as if she was doing me a favor to sell me something. On the second visit, when I commented on the first cake in a nice way, she said, «Well, this isn’t Cub or Rainbow…» I guess my dress(jeans and a button shirt) either were not to her liking or it was because the day ended in a Y. Nevertheless, there are many more choices for good cakes in the area now, and I’ll be patronizing them. I find it incredible that people working in a small bakery would be anything but cheerful and helpful.

We just celebrated our daughter’s 44th birthday with eight other family members and for her birthday cake, she requested German Chocolate Cake, which is her favorite. Our oldest daughter makes the best cake of this kind ever tasted but due to it being so time consuming, she did not have time to bake one, so she ordered a $ 40 German Chocolate Cake from your bakery. It was smaller, than expected, for the price, and fell completely apart when cutting with a serrated cake knife. it was a big mess. We use this same knife, for all our cakes and it works great, so was not the knifes fault. The cake was bland tasting and hardly had any coconut pecan frosting between the layers. It was a big disappointment, especially for the birthday girl. It was so bad no one even wanted to take any home with them. Sorry, for the negative review but there was nothing positive about the cake.

This is one of the roomier, nicely decorated ones. I’ll never complain about 2.25 for a cupcake again. It’s better than any of the 3 buck absurdities I’ve had. They have a huge variety. Even though smores was the flavor of the day, I got a delicious cherry buttercream. One thing they have that is genius, is a sink next to the waste basket and coffee station, so you can dump extra liquid before disposing of a cup. I haven’t had iced coffee in awhile, and it is so refreshing on a hot day. I sat by the window reading, it’s so relaxing and not too noisy. The service is great. One has been there 7 years. They have a cool standing eco AC as you walk in, and it does the job.

This is one of two cake places I go to when I order cakes here for special occasions for work, and always had an excellent experience. The cakes are not ONLY pretty to look at but it is delicious, moist and good frosting. Recently, I have gotten a cake here for a Team member for his 15th work anniversary and not only was it good, it was very pretty, they made a cake for us with our company colors. The other signature cakes here are exceptional, too. Glad to have this bakery near our work.

This place is expensive but high quality. The workers are usually genial but you can tell that some would much rather work somewhere else. I would really only go here if I had a deal(like a Groupon or such) or needed a good cake. I totally recommend the chocolate whipped cream torte/cake.

Besides having a weird and somewhat unpronounceable name, this bakery indeed has some delectable goodies. There is a little seating to have a coffee, beverage or lunch of a sandwich, soup or lasagna. They probably change up their menu from time to time. My sister had a coupon to use — so we chose various pastries, from brownies to Danish — and it was all delicious. The staff is really great, too. Be prepared to spend some«dough»(pun intended) in here — cuz it ain’t cheap. I’d say it’s worth it for sure — except for maybe that $ 80(yes, that was«80») box of cookies I saw wrapped up on the shelf before we left. Needless to say, if you get a box of cookies from this place, someone either really owes you, or really likes you — A LOT!

The Robbinsdale Wuollet is awesome. I seem to end up at a Wuollet pretty often even though I’m not the biggest Wuollet fan in general. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about them, there’s just not a signature item that I crave. But the Robbinsdale location is special. There’s none of the pretentiousness or impatience that I’ve experienced at other locations.(Big props to Wuollet for operating on the North Side) The sample plates are more likely to be full, and with larger pieces. They offer my kids a free cookie without me even having to ask. The coffee is solid. I like that there are often people sitting at the little tables having Very Important civic conversations. And I really like the fountain outside. That fountain entertains my kids while I finish my iced coffee. I’d like to give 4 ½ stars, but I’m going for five.

I heard rave about this bakery from coworkers. Finally I have a chance to go and see what they taste like. O yes I checked with Unilocal first to make sure it was good. Arrive there around 10 o’clock in the morning. Pretty busy there although passed breakfast time. Still a lot of selection. Originally my husband wanted appledapple coffee cake but someone already took the last one because when he asked the staff she said they didn’t have it anymore. I remembered to order lady baltimore cupcake from I read here it was good. Not to forget a long john, I always love long john. We also order apricot and walnut coffee cakes. All of them very good. An honest food. Not to sweet. No after taste. And do they add rum to their chocolate glaze for their long john? I like it. Definitely will come back. The draw back though they are pricey for my pocket. I indulged them heartfeltly accompanied with dark medium roast coffee I brought from McD… what a good thing to start a weekend :)

Since it’s gotten cold out I rarely walk the two blocks to Wuollet’s for coffee anymore, which is sad because that means no more of the FREESAMPLES that are essential to maintaining my figure. Anyway, the pastries here are pretty much perfect. The garlic toast and the soup also rule. One or two of the employees aren’t the nicest people in the world(I’m looking at you, guy who always looks like he’s judging me) but the rest of them are pretty awesome so it all balances out. I’m also not a big fan of the way they handle the line when it’s super busy. On a recent weekday one customer asked MR. JUDGYPANTS if he should take a number and MR. JUDGYPANTS just stared at him and turned his back. Meanwhile, the line grew and confusion started to set in. Maybe they use the number system on the weekends? I don’t know, I’m usually too busy avoiding MR. JUDGYPANTS and stuffing multiple free samples into my mouth to pay attention to what’s going on around me.

This bakery is really the best I’ve ever had. I could sit and eat a bucket of their frosting alone! Seriously! The cakes, the donuts, the cupcakes… everything I’ve ever had from here is far superior to any other bakery around! Service is wonderful as well.
