Poor service and food from a can. The best is the grill but still very poor quality of meat.

As far as Chinese buffets in Roanoke, this is the best one we have tried. We have just recently started using the Mongolian grill which is nice to choose what you want, and has a lot of meat options. Out of the 5 or 6 other Chinese buffets I’ve tried in Roanoke/Salem, Hibachi by FAR has the most options. The price is good for what you get, especially if you can go earlier in the day or not on the weekend when the prices are higher. Like with other reviewers mentioned, on one of our visits, my dad and I were there on one of the days with the odd child version of «happy birthday» played on repeat for most of the meal. It was pretty distracting but it gave us something to talk about and gave us a good laugh. After visiting hibachi a few times, we revisited my old favorite Chinese buffet and it just didn’t seem as good or have nearly as many choices as hibachi. So now hibachi is our go to for Chinese buffet

Average Chinese Buffet/Mongolian. Mongolian was actually the more disappointing in that the veggie selection to incorporate into your custom dish was very limited. In addition to the proteins(shrimp, chicken, pork & beef), the only veggies to add were onion, mushroom and zucchini. Odd there was no broccoli, sprouts, cauliflower, carrots etc. That was disappointing. The rest of the buffet was just OK. The evening meal did not include crab legs or crawfish like so many other similar establishments do. The bill including the Mongolian, all you can eat and a bottomless soft drink came to just under $ 14.00. Fair value I suppose,

Absolutely horrific. This place has gone downhill in a major way since they opened a couple years ago. There is a lot of variety, but unfortunately nothing is even remotely close to being edible. The sushi was crusty and had black spots on the fish. The hibachi was terrible. Despite my best effort to find something I could eat, several full plates of food were wasted. The sweet and sour chicken was so terrible I had to spit it into a napkin. The service mirrored the food. We finally got tired of waiting for the check so we went up front to pay and they wouldn’t ring us until they went to the table and verified that only one person had a soda while the rest of us drank water. I’m not a picky person and am generally very understanding, but this was a terrible experience for my family. Even the kids thought the food was gross. Don’t waste your time or money on this place.

It’s what you’d expect at your standard«Asian» buffet, but I was definitely impressed that there were ample items available where I was able to go back three separate times and still come to something new I wanted to try! Unfortunately, that left me quite stuffed and I only took some fruit(but they had 6 – 7 different kinds of ice cream /sorbet)

For the most part, the food is rather mediocre. The salad bar doesn’t feature many vegetables and the lettuce seemed to be soaking wet. However, they did offer crawfish, which I hadn’t seen at a buffet before. The crawfish were steamed but still quite salty/sandy — interesting to try but I don’t know if I’d recommend them. Also, I didn’t even try the sushi but I’ll go out on a limb and not recommend that either. Fortunately, it wasn’t all bad at the Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet. The miso soup was good and the hibachi grill offers the opportunity to have things cooked to order. I put together a plate of rice, egg, peppers, onions, snow peas, and shrimp that were then cooked in soy sauce. The chef didn’t quite cook my food all the way through but we won’t fret about the details. The highlight of the meal was the Chinese doughnut that we tried for dessert. I happened to be standing at the bar when the lady brought out a fresh batch of doughnuts and I grabbed the first one out of the pan. It was like a fresh, hot funnel cake and tasted delicious. In a shocking display of self-control, I managed to resist going back for another one. For an Asian buffet, I’d say Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet is pretty standard. A few things that are pretty good and a few things that are pretty awful. Roanoke is full of other good restaurants that I would suggest before going here, but it’s one of the better buffets in town.

It is ok. The cheese wontons are awesome. The rest of the food is ok but I would not go back there for it. I would go back for the cheese wontons alone but nothing else. Food all seemed to taste the same and was lukewarm. Edible but nothing to write home about.

This buffet has a nice variety of asian food including(but not limited to) seafood, hibachi grill and sushi. Although this may not be the best asian buffet i have ever been to, it is the best in Roanoke so far. Especially when the dinner price is a little less than $ 10 a person.

One of those«why did I do this?» Restaurants. If you love tons and tons of salt then you are at the right place. Even the tea was terrible. It tastes like it was from concentrate. Sushi? It is a buffet so you aren’t getting actual seafood. Plenty of imitation crab meat. Several of the rolls had what tasted like salmon flavored cat food in their center. I would stay away if you value your health.

Food was great but the service is horrible, the place is not even busy and yet they can’t come to refill the drinks or clear our dirty plate. The service sucks…

I love the food in this place. The food is always hot and fresh. I do however agree that it seems to depend on who is cooking the food. It is better at times and not so great at times. I am not into sushi so i go for the prime rib and the stuffed shrimp.

This was on a cusp of 3 stars, but decided it’s a 4. Food — they have a variety of Asian food. Seafood, hot pot items, dim sum food, sushi, cold and hot dishes. I mean, it’s pretty much the best you can get in Roanoke. Service — was good. Attentive and was able to accommodate the large group of people. Price — wasn’t bad for dinner. I believe the cost for 3 was $ 45(was what I saw on the bill). Been to places a lot more expensive. So it’s pretty good for what you get. The reason why I have them a 4 is because every time I am in town to visit my family, we ALWAYS come here. It’s never a disappointment. Yea sure, wish there was somewhere else to go.

Love this buffet. The Sushi is great for the price you are paying. Plenty of chicken and seafood to be had. My 5 year old always picks this when it is her turn.

«For only $ 10, it’s a great value for the good selection of sushi alone, not to mention the OTHER8 islands of food! Keep in mind, it is a buffet, so it’s not a made-to-order type of good like Massaki, but for half the price you can stuff yourself with a good, fres…»

Everything tastes like it’s seasoned with MSG and that’s because most of it is. The girl at the cashier said her favorite thing is the Hibachi grill. Maybe she doesn’t want MSG either. The bad: nothing organic or local, MSG is everywhere, crowded with overweight people stuffing themselves. The good: plenty of choices for soup, salad, entrees, and dessert. Our server was very friendly, but we didn’t put him to the test by asking him to help us with anything. There was someone having a birthday near us and they piped«Happy Birthday» through the house speakers for about five minutes. I will not be back, but I wish them the best.

Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet is a decent AYCE option, though not amazing. The initial«wow look they’ve got 8 islands of food» sinks when you realize one of the island houses nothing else but jello and pudding. With that said, the food was pretty fresh when we came here for dinner and the folks were pretty conscientious in putting fresh food on, and clearing your plates. The sushi was surprisingly ok by buffet standards although I didn’t return for more. I liked the grilled fish and a couple other dishes but all in all few things were truly memorable but more than sufficed for dinner. If you like variety, then Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet is a good bet especially for dinner under $ 10. Think of it as an asian remix of Golden Corral down the street. You’ll leave stuffed but with a fortune cookie to boot.

I feel like before I start raving about this place, two things should be understood. One, I live in Covington. Which means if my friends and I want to go out and get a decent meal, chances are we’re making the hour long hike south to Roanoke. Which leads to two; by the time we’ve gotten some routine errands done before everything closes the crew has usually reached that point of hunger that even the sight of the pet food isle makes your mouth water. With that said, my standards are generally pretty low when I walk into Chinese buffets. I almost except the chicken to be cold, the wontons to be chewy, and if there’s sushi to stay away because chances are it’s all been sitting out waay too long. But when we walked into this place and saw island after island of fresh feast, a hibachi buffet/grill and a sushi bar in the back, my eyes went wide. It was huge, especially for around here. And the atmosphere was cool, despite creepy children’s recording of Happy Birthday playing over and over again(true story). We were shown our seat by the predictably sweet little asian girl and asked our drinks, pretty routine. I grabbed my plate and started picking out food I didn’t even know where to begin. I was comforted to see pan after pan of fresh cooked dishes coming out from the kitchen, so I knew right off that it was kept up well. The food was some of the best buffet food I’ve ever had, and the choices were endless. There was even mac&cheese and pizza(.unnecessary, I know). What I got was all delicious. The wontons, the pineapple chicken, the hibachi rice! Godddddd, it all hit the spot. We ate so much I though soy sauce would start coming out of my ears. I was even brave enough to make a sample dish of all the sushi. I’ll admit the tuna over rice was NOT good, but all of the rolls(probably because most of them weren’t fish) were really good, especially for a buffet. BESTPART, two of us went and ate so much we nearly had to roll ourselves out, and our bill was a mere $ 20 dollars! And we easily ate $ 50 worth of food between the bar, the hibachi, and the sushi. Soooo perfect for poor, starving, college students looking to stuff their faces for cheap. Definitely a new Roanoke favorite, I can’t wait to go back.
