Came with some friends a few days after it opened — they opened suddenly and without fanfare but it was filled up by the time we left at 6:45. One friend got the weekly special of the Chicken Oregonato which I got to try. Very succulent and flavorful, delicious. Another friend got the Chicken Souvlaki, and I got the lamb kabob. We all got salads with the house Athens dressing which is incredible, and the rice. I ordered ice tea and they brought me a bottle of Pure Leaf. They have an extensive wine and beer list(didn’t check to see if they had Mythos). My friends got water. My lamb could have been more tender(perhaps was a tad overcooked. They are new, so they are forgiven). The atmosphere is wonderful. They worked hard to have it top notch before they opened, and they did it right. Even the cash register said«Yasou» to welcome you inside. We WILL be back. All agreed… it was amazing. Once word gets out, this place will be packed. So nice to have an authentic Greek restaurant in Roanoke. We have Paul’s, which is good for a quick lunch, and Veranda Bistro, but Athens has the mostly Greek menu while the others just have a few dishes.
