Went to the Bull on New Year’s Eve for a nice steak dinner. The reviews on Unilocal weren’t too hot but I decided to give it a try regardless. To be honest I had a great meal, a nice large steak, a nice baked potato, small salad and some bread on the side. I was definitely satisfied by the meal and felt great afterwards. The steak was nice and juicy cooked medium well just the way I like it. The waitress was friendly and attentive and the food was served pretty quickly. All in all it was a good experience and a great place for a good steak

When I visited this place back in September, the management was planning a major revamp and scale-​down. They were going to go from a steakhouse to a more chain-​like restaurant. Hope their plans didn’t work out, because this place knows how to do steak. It’s basic food done right (thanks to an ambitious and creative chef).

The restaurant is clean and decent ambiance. We were here for a business dinner with a potential client. The server obviously had something wrong, because she had to come back and ask what our potential client had ordered and it went down hill from there. She brought out the wrong drink, salads and three times someone else’s order. When we received our order one of the meals was totally incorrect. They did apologize and credit the wrong meal, but it made for a very awkward business meal with a potential client. I give 3 stars, because the correct food was good.

The ambiance is very odd for Riverton. Seems to be trying to be higher class than it really is. My steak, medium rare, came out more like medium well and was very… chewy, to say the least. I would not recommend to my coworkers.

My family ate here while traveling in WY. My wife got the Chicken Brie Pasta which was penne in a Brie cream sauce with prosciutto (just cut-​up bacon-wasn’t the real prosciutto) with garlic and shallots. We both agreed that the chicken was very tasty and cooked just right, but the Brie sauce lacked.
I got the Baseball Sirloin Pasta and we both couldn’t get enough of it. This too was a penne pasta drenched in a balsamic vinegar cream sauce which served as the bed to a nice, round (hence the Baseball) sirloin steak cooked to precise order of medium. It was sprinkled with garlic and shallots and a few pieces of garlic toast. I’m normally a guy that likes to drown a steak in sauce, but this sirloin stood on its own.
Our waiter, Antonio, was very friendly and was very eager to tell us all about the history of Riverton. We ordered some kids’ sprites for our daughters and he dressed them up with some cherries which they loved.
Our plates were on the cheaper end of their menu at $ 15 and $ 23 respectively.

This place use to be the go to place for a nice meal. We recently visited the restaurant on a trip to Riverton. I was 100% disappointed. The food was mediocre, way over priced and the restaurant seriously needs a good cleaning and updating. And the hostess needs training on how to greet people.

The food is well prepared here. The resturant is very clean and the food is good. The salad was very fresh tasing, with a good blue cheese dressing that tasted homemade. I had a very well prepared petite filet last week (I’ve eaten here with my parents since I was a kid). I really think they cook their steaks better than anyplace in the Riverton/​Lander area. The steaks are ALWAYS cooked as to how they were ordered. I also like their beef soup (soup, salad, rolls come with dinner). There is a lot of food on these plates and I always have enough of everything (but salad) to take home and have for lunch the next day. Their deserts are good. This is simple food, but well prepared simple food. AND you can add shrimp to your dinner! Oops, almost forgot: their shrimp cocktail has HUGE shrimp. I would take out of town friends here (and have).

Riverton, WY
The Bull has been the anchor steakhouse for Riverton for some time now. I have had many excellent meals here. The atmosphere, service and food are all above average. There are better meal deals for good steaks in the area at this time though so I cannot rate higher than three stars. I recommend as a good place for a couple but not so much for a family.

Hands down this restaurant has the best lamb chops anywhere and the steaks are good too. The décor isn“t that great but the food and the service makes up for it.
