This business defies the theory employees mirror the attributes of the owner. Employees at Riverside’s Pre Hop Cleaners are helpful and friendly. But, the owner/manager lacks any«customer service» motivation. When something goes wrong(e.g. losing an article of clothing) his attitude is «stuff happens». The worst part is once something goes wrong, only he is allowed to help. His«I could care less» or «I’m busy» attitude leads to long delays in trying to resolve the problem, his failure to return phone calls and his avoiding customer contact. The icing on the cake is his refusal to apologize for the problem and then demanding full payment as if nothing had gone wrong.

This place does not know how to press a dress shirt. My husband’s work shirts continually came back with weird pronounced creases in the shoulders and back. I thought once I pointed it out it would no longer be an issue but it kept happening. There were a bunch of other things going on as well(missing or cracked buttons when I got my stuff back — one example) that basically added up to sub-par service with the dry cleaning. So now I drive my stuff all the way into the city to a place that does a great job. I met the owner of Pre-Hop once and he was not friendly.

I gave this place a total of 4 chances and each time I found myself disappointed. They simply do not preform quality work. They left creases in all of my dress shirts each and every time. Also, my girlfriend dropped off a cocktail dress with them just to find a crease right through the middle of her dress. At first I did not make a big deal because everyone makes mistakes, but to continually repeat the same mistakes is unacceptable. The employees were nice, but this by itself does not translate to good customer service.
