Obie’s Barber Shop & Shaving Parlor

APPOINTMENT ONLY. Really can’t give it a true review because I did not get a haircut here. Because they only take appointments. Just make sure you CALL and book one. Tried to do do it online but no option and walk ins are ONLY if there is no appointments and no one inside the shop.

Finally! A good barbershop in the Riverside area. I’ve gone as far as Rancho Cucamonga to find a classic, reputable barbershop in the IE. Vanessa is an expert at classic hairstyles like pomps, combovers, sideparts, etc. I’ve yet to get a haircut from Obie himself but I can’t wait until I need my next haircut.
The prices are good and competitive, and you get the full treatment with a Gentleman’s cut (razor lineup, hot towel wash, etc). Appointments are mandatory as there are no walk-​ins, but it doesn’t cost any extra to make one. Definitely found my go-​to barbershop around UC Riverside.

I was recommended to Obie’s by family friends and I’m glad I listened to them! It’s no frills and that’s totally fine because they are clearly dedicated to their craft: barbering. Vincent took care of me and he did so quicker than anyone else ever has. It’s like the guy knew the shape of my head immediately. Great prices and Vincent was dope. I can’t wait to try a hot shave and facial. Give them a whirl.

Like Steven, I wonder why I have not reviewed Obie’s shop sooner given I have been a customer for more than I year. Everyone on his team is friendly and skilled. Vanessa always does a fantastic job and my wife approves the result. I am making an appointment right now!

Not sure why I didn’t review obies barber shop yet. Probably because I usually review restaurants.
Overall, I really like this place. I stumbled upon this place based on the reviews back in junior year and have been coming here ever since. Sure you can go somewhere else for cheaper, but I really like the service and the haircut they give me here. 20 dollars is the cost for a mens haircut and they sure do include a few luxuries thrown in.
The haircut itself is great. They leave me with a fresh cut every time. I just tell then a few of my preferences, how short I want it on the sides and back, and they do a great job. I usually just ask for anyone and overall they usually all do a great job.
They also give me a foam shave on my neckline and they wipe the foam away with a hot towel, and man that hot towel feels amazing on your neck.
Overall, I really like this place, and they have a great deal of buy 5 get 1 free so it comes out to like 16.66 per haircut.

I’ve been going to Obie’s for about 9 months and have worked primarily with Vincent (except for 1 time when he was booked for a few days straight). I used to believe that I could never find the right cut, until I found Obie’s on Unilocal.They do excellent work and I enjoy going there.

I usually really dislike getting my hair cut. I enjoyed getting my hair cut, here. Vanessa was rad.

Best barber shop around. Very professional and they were able to fit me in on a last minute reservation. I had not had my hair cut in almost 7 years and they did a amazing job. Very comfortable and pleasant experience

First time there and we had a great experience! Super cute Gentlemans cut for my 7 yr. old and he was fast! We were in and out, which is what I like!

Vanessa and Vincent do a great job. I’ve only gone to these two people since I moved to the area 2 years ago; I’ve been there 14+ times…
Long story short. I was late to an appointment due to factors beyond my control. When I called in, on the road hauling ass to Obie’s, I was told by either Obie or Raul that I will be charged double PLUS a «fee». I asked, «so wait, it’s going to cost me 40−50+ dollars to get a hair cut» and he replied «yes» and assured/​threatened me that they had my credit card information on file. Sure enough, I turned around and quickly cancelled all of my credit cards that I’ve ever used with them (just got my new cards in the mail today which reminded me to write this). Big fucking pain in the ass and now I’m sitting here with a shaggy mop of hair trying to find a convenient replacement for Obie’s. The guy that runs the place either needs to learn how to run a business or keep a tighter leash on the other guy (I know it wasn’t Vincent or Vanessa I talked to, so it was either Raul or Obie).
If you are okay with a barbershop keeping your credit card information on file just in case they need to extort you into your next appointment, go ahead stop by Obie’s. If you want that same kind of shtick with the old timey crap all over the walls and everyone having tattoos, but you don’t want the failing business desperation of trying to force patrons in, go to Hawleywood’s or Razorback’s — they’ll be around for years.
Vanessa, if you read this, I’m sorry I was late to my appointment, but your boss is a total moron. If you work out of another shop, please PM me and I’d be more than happy to compensate you for any of your time that ended up getting wasted. You do an awesome job. Thanks.

Hands down the BEST barbershop in the Inland Empire. I would drive 100 miles just to get a top notch haircut at Obie’s. Great ambience, amazing people, and the top quality service!

This place only takes appointments and to do so will require you to log your credit card in unless you’re using the guest feature on the website. Any hoot, this place is a great place for a stellar haircut, Obie gives one hell of a haircut and I’d recommend him as your barber if it’s your first time here. Be punctual though, it seems Obie’s is run like a medical office and you will be charged $ 20 for as a no show fee, therefore I recommend using the guest features online.

Super cool place. Great hands at work in this joint. Today was my first time and I am a very satisfied customer. Raul took care of me. This guys is really good. Thanks for the new look.

My husband comes here on a regular basis, he likes the online appointment system they have set up (you can find the link through their instagram) it makes it super convenient to book yourself an appointment at any time of the day. We took my 3 year old son here a couple of times. The first time went well) he was about 1 ½) and I’ve taken him other places in between and it’s been nothing but a nightmare. He cries bloody murder and the whole experience has been unbelievably stressful for everyone involved. My husband suggested we bring him back to see Vanessa and I’m very glad we did! She took her time, was reassuring and most importantly gentle and patient with him. He did cry at first but he did very well once she got stared and finished off without the normal breakdown that we’ve had in the past. He actually got a real haircut instead of the «hurry up and get it over with shave down».
My husband says he’s never had to wait when he’s made an appointment.

Women live longer than us for a reason.- massages, facials, spa days, gno, etc. They pamper themselves.
Guys do– shots, strip clubs, poker nights, beer clubs… all of which i love except for the stripper part… cuz luv my $$ in my pocket. and i have 2 daughters… BUT N-​E Way. Fellas. U gotta treat usrelf to a proper hot towel single blade
least once. We gots to keep up with these wimmens.
Obie comes from a long line of tonsorial artists. Dad, granddad. He knows his stuff! Great single blade, hot towel, oil shave. Definitely will be back. Especially for a special occasion. Skin as smooth as a baby’s butt. Not a whisker outta place for me.
And he is the nicest funny guy. Great customer service. There are a few items to buy and take home– shaving soap, creams and oils. Stock up between visits. Make your reservation cuz u will be there for abt 30 mins. Obie takes his time cuz he wants it right.

First time in a barbershop and it will definitely not be my last. Vanessa did an awesome job on my hair and the shave was fantastic. Everyone in the shop was cool and it was definitely a good atmosphere.
Bottom line: Go Here

Went in for an undercut, left with a new barber.
Obie has been doing this for a decade and a half, and comes from a lineage of barbers. If you’re looking for a good shop in Riverside, Obie’s is your place. Its nice to have someone who really knows what they’re doing.
To top it off, he finishes with a straight edge razor line up & hot towel. I felt kind of guilty getting this type of treatment.

Obies makes me want to be a man and cut my hair short.
My little brother comes here and seriously rants and raves about this little gem of an establishment.
I quote «I will never go anywhere else, ever.»
Once my kin commit to something, well, that is it.
He has a great cut and faithfully goes and cuts his hair biweekly with Obie.
So, my man had long and sexy locks… like Keanu Reeves. Yum.
He was wanting a change and I knew just the place.
They gracefully gave him an on the spot appt., we waited a bit but no biggie. It’s kinda cool waiting because they offer you adult libations :) big plus for any man.
When he got in Raul’s chair he is greeted and asked what he needs done.
Mind you he hadn’t gotten a cut in 9 months and his hair is thick!
They are very open and have great vibes and treat everyone like family and close friends.
My fiancé is not a writer but I am positive this is his new spot. His hair turned out sexy. GENTLEMAN SEXY of course.
Thanks Obies Barbershop and thanks Raul, I won’t be going back because I have no need, now that I know his hair is in good hands.
