I was visiting beautiful Danville for a weekend bike tour with a large group. Two of us stopped here after a bike ride on Saturday. I was surprised to be charged $ 6.36 for a small root beer float. I should have said something to the girl but was too embarrassed. It was a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a small cup(12 – 16 oz) of root beer. I’m sure I was ripped off as it didn’t match the price list on the board, nor the prices on the website when I checked after returning to the hotel. Either I was rung up for 2 floats or charged for something else but I was overcharged nonetheless. I will not return again and they need more competent help!

Excellent service, big portions, fun atmosphere– small town’s best! The taco salad was huge, everything fresh, fast and friendly service with the cook even thanking you on the way out the door! Definitely a place we would return to, and great eatery for kids.

A 50’s– 60’s themed drive-in type of restaurant. Stopped on our way home for some ice cream. How can you screw up ice cream? Well, they did! Asked for a 50’s Twister(their version of a DQ Blizzard). $ 4.50 for a regular(small), but according to the little tags next to the cups, to indicate what size for which ice cream, we didn’t get that cup, actually a smaller one. Got the Twister… won’t ever get one of those again! My impression, it was made with freezer burnt, heavily crystallized ice cream that they tried to soften with milk, which DIDN’T work. It ended up thinner than a shake! I didn’t need the spoon it came with, drank the thing instead. The people before us — they got hard ice cream cones. Looking at them, I have NO idea how she was able to scoop it the way she did. Not in a «ball» form, more like flaps piled on top of each other, and not in a nice appearance. To the point it was immediately falling apart with the girl offering a cup to dump it in so they wouldn’t lose it to the ground. On a positive note, I did see a couple with some soft serve that looked good. Better stick to that if you’re gonna visit.

Step inside a time portal because you are about to go back to the 50’s. Heeters awesome design makes me feel like this is what eating at a restaurant in the 50’s was like. With the tables, floor, chairs and music. The experience is very nice and I know the older generation has to love it. The food is pretty good, nothing that is going to make you say wow but a nice little place great for breakfast and lunch. My go to there is the chicken quesadillas with the works. You get a large amount and they are stuffed pretty well with chicken, peppers, onions and cheese. Also a big hit in the summer is their ice cream which I think is a little pricey for ice cream but if it’s good people don’t really care. Just about everyday there is a line for the ice cream in the summer. I am more of a milkshake guy myself getting either coffee ice cream or tea berry which are both very good. Overall good little place with decent food and good ice cream with a nice old fashion vibe.

Everything was extremely cheap in price and quality. Very dated in appeared grungy. Needs serious updating. I understand the style of a drive in but this isn’t it. The best part of our visit was the server we had who was very sweet and attentive. Large portions and cheap prices are not always a good thing.

If you love the food and feel of a small diner, it gets no better than Heeter’s. If Scott is cooking and Justina is your waitress, prepare to be impressed. Justina is incredibly fast and very good at her job. You’ll know Justine is working if she’s the only server there(when she’s not, she needs to be replaced by two people which I find rather comical). Before I’m even done with my drink she already has a new one on the table! They have your typical diner food ranging from fried foods to grilled foods, sandwiches, entrees, etc. When I’m there I usually go for whatever the special is and I’m never disappointed. Their half a sub is equivalent to Subway’s whole sub. For the price, the portions are huge and if you leave there feeling hungry that’s your own fault! For the most part I’ve only had their sandwiches but if I were to recommend anything, my favorites include their cheesesteaks, fish sandwich, and pulled pork BBQ. If you actually happen to have any room left over, they have some really great hard and soft ice cream with plenty of other treats as well. If you’re a local or just passing through, stop in to Heeter’s and let them fill you up!

Heeter’s décor was cute. Love the drive in theme but the service was not very welcoming and seemed rushed though it wasn’t busy the food was average descent portions for the money

The décor was adorable and the waitress was a pro. Portions were grand and food was very good. BBQ burger and pulled pork although messy was a very good sandwich. Large portion of fries and the Scottish fries are to die for. Overall this is a very good place to grab a hearty meal. Even the salads was crispy. Three or four steps above a diner. Highly recommend this place for dinner. Elvis even played a few song live which fit into the whole experience.

Decent, not outstanding but pretty good. Some interesting menu items — pierogies, for instance — for local flavor. Could have used a flyswatter.

I love Heeter’s, and that’s why writing this pains me. The portions are HUGE, and the food is delicious IF,(and this is a big if) Scotty is on the grill, and Justine is your waitress. Fortunately, that’s usually the case, but if not, it’s a roll of the dice. The Buffalo chicken cheesesteak is a definite safe bet, as is the Buffalo chicken roll-up. The fries have a great coating, and are worth the additional cost.

Saw this place on Unilocal and knew that my choices for a non chain kid family restaurant in Danville would few. This place was great! Our waitress, despite the fact that you could tell hated every second of having to be at work on Sunday did a great job. If she would have cracked a smile even once they would have received five stars. But besides that the reason we were their, the food. I had a spicy ranch and onion ring burger that was awesome. The fries were good but could have been better. My wife split a chicken small cheese steak(12 inch yes that is a small) with a friend and they both loved it. Kids meal came out in A cool cardboard box shaped like a mustang that my youngest son went crazy about. So wanted desert but was to stuffed to even try. Great place to stop and grab a bite to eat. Thanks Unilocalers!

I LOVE Heeter’s! The absolute best thing on the menu is the cheesesteak in the garden! The whole version of the sub is literally 20″ long, and the combo of steak, lettuce, tomato, and mayo are to die for! Great atmosphere, usually friendly service, drive up ice cream window, locally owned, what’s not to love? This is THE restaurant to eat at while your in Danville. It gets bonus points because it’s off the beaten path a little bit, but it’s worth it!
