A great place:) definitely should try the Chonqging noodles, very authentic, not every place can do it right but I am so amazed to see they nailed it! I also love the soup and tofu dishes. Always try the fish dishes here. The service is good too!!!

Gooda Place is a strange name for what turns out to be the first authentic Chinese restaurant in the Mission Grove/​Orange Crest area of Riverside. Please ignore all of the reviews by people looking for fast food Chinese. This is legit, Sichuan (Szechuan) style Chinese cuisine run by real Chinese people. The food is good, the prices reasonable, and the portions fair. Is service slower than fast food Chinese? Yes. Is it 100x better if you know what to order and what to expect? Definitely.
Please give it a chance. It’s not Panda Express or variations thereof. Keep an open mind and ask the waiter to recommend food you might like. You might just love it =)
P. S. I’m not at all associated with the restaurant but do desperately want it to survive as it’s the closest real Chinese restaurant to me by 10 minutes!

I was on my way back home from the bank and I saw this place so I thought I’d make a u-​turn and go back and give it a try thinking it was ready to go take out Chinese food. As I walked in discovered it was made to order or dine in. I ordered and sat patiently for my to go order. Results:
If you’re just looking for a place to fill your stomach then this is idea otherwise it is not gourmet Chinese food. I ordered the ginger scallion lunch special with shrimp and more than half of the dish was filled with onions and green onions no ginger and barely any shrimp.
Sorry to give such a tough review but I gave it a shot and I will never return. I could not finish the dish and gave the rest of side of fried rice to my dogs. The food is not good you should change your name.

Prior to Gooda Place there was another Chinese restaurant, which wasn’t very good… but this is an entirely different restaurant and for the better!
Gooda Place serves fresh, delicious Chinese food! We are ordering takeout from here at least once a week. Seriously, give them a try… remember though it’s not fast food… it is made fresh to order. Friendly service too
