This is a very low key, warm and friendly environment. Classes are small and intimate. I love coming here. Buy a pass and take advantage of the variety. Their focus is on Iyengar which is PERFECT for those like me who have had injury. This is a place that cares deeply about their students and will go out of their way to assure a good experience. They also offer a 1 week all you can handle pass for only 18.00 $. Give this place a try!

It has been my good fortune to attend classes at F U N Y O G A for over a year. The outstanding instructors pay attention to detail when implementing new poses. For example, there is consistent guidance on proper alignment during practices. as well as an acute dedication to avoiding injury. These dedicated yoga teachers engage students in extensive pre pose exercises, preparing our bodies for the ultimate pose. Adjustments are made for those of us seeking relief from previous injuries and pain. Several yoga style classes are offered by different teachers. There are as many opportunities for advanced and experienced students, as there are for true beginners. Specialty training classes by experts are also offered on a regular bases throughout the year, as are trips and a plethora of social events. This is indeed a 5 star gem in our community. Roz P

I have taken classes from Christie Hall of Fun Yoga Studio for over 10 years. Christie, a certified Iyengar instructor, is a talented, caring instructor. She will never ask a student to do more than she knows that student is capable of doing. She is especially effective with students who have special needs. I have observed her working with students in wheelchairs as well as a student who is legally blind. I am a post polio survivor and when I started with Christie I could not get off the floor. She slowly and patiently worked with me to the point that I now consider myself a very capable student. I also enjoy the studio and the people I have met there. Everyone is helpful, caring and compassionate. I highly recommend you try Christie at Fun Yoga Studio.

This is not a yoga studio. It is a platform for Christie to share her personal musings and experience as someone who has done a fair bit of yoga herself. As someone who has practiced Iyengar Yoga for a while now, I attended her class with assumption she was Iyengar certified. Within minutes it was clear she was not. There was zero flow or rhythm to the class — I do not mean flow as in Vinyasa, but just structure and organization. She was teaching Virabhadrasana — Warrior Pose 1 — and gave mixed if not wholly incorrect instruction about how to best align one’s hips. A major goal is clear alignment across the hips so they are in the same plane. She was mixed and confused what to teach her students leaving them all confused. Worse off — she was placing brand new beginners into Sirsana — head stands — a position that is not for beginners — ie only their 3rd or 4th class. This pose takes a while to work up to for new yogis doing Iyengar. Christie had no regard for that. It is very dangerous and was a clear sign she had no idea what she was doing. I later checked the Iyengar database — foolishly I did not prior to the class — and her name is noticeably absent from being a certified teacher. I would steer clear of this studio. She is likely teaching people incorrect positions and may well cause someone serious injury one day. Updated to add: Since writing this initial post, the studio contacted me to edit/delete my review. I will add that they did provide a link to the IYNAUS website indicating Christie Hall’s certification. I will state that I searched this certification post my studio visit and it was not listed at all. This appears only a subsequent effort based on my negative review. I will also add that I stand by the remainder of my post. Particularly, I have been practicing for a long while and have never once observed Sirasana 1 for the new yogi given need to work up to it and safety required. Such a practice is dangerous. I also noticed since my Unilocal review at least 3 new«glowing» reviews that seem to be the studio’s effort to «juice» their ratings in response.

I have taken many classes and my teacher training here with Christie as my instructor. First of all, the facility is very clean and has a lot of props available. Secondly, Christie is extremely knowledgable, and the other teachers I met were friendly. And finally, the pricing was really reasonable. I had looked at other pricing nearby and they were very reasonable here. I really enjoy Christie as an instructor, but I also appreciate her knowledge and her ability to work with people of different types. I have brought in friends, and even my dad, and everyone felt she helped them.

My mom has been coming here for a month or so, and she bought me a 1-week pass to try it out with her. My first impression of this studio was that it’s very small. With that said, it’s a very friendly and welcoming environment, and everyone seems to know each other! I came in during the week of Thanksgiving, and Kathy(our yoga instructor) read quotes about gratitude as we did our poses. It was soooo comforting! She also explains the steps very well, so don’t worry if you’re a beginner! One thing that I really love about this studio is that, unlike many other studios, it doesn’t smell sweaty! It’s very obvious that they put a lot of effort into keeping it clean :) If you’re new to yoga and want to check this place out, I suggest buying the $ 181-week pass for unlimited yoga! They offer about 5 classes per day(Mon-Fri and Sun) and 1 class on Saturdays, ranging from beginner’s yoga to intermediate yoga to stretching exercises. They also have an ample supply of blankets, yoga mats, foam/wooden blocks in the back for anyone who doesn’t have their own. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. This studio really lives up to its name!
