El Habanero

My brother introduced me to this place and I was pleasantly surprised. They have restaurant quality food with a homemade style. I’m very picky about the Mexican food I eat as many are Americanized. This is not one of those places. The young man behind the counter was very friendly and gave great service. I chose el pastor nachos this time. The portions were amazing for the price and the meat was delicious. If you aren’t that hungry I would recommend the carnesada burrito or tacos, anything with el pastor and the bean and cheese burrito. You won’t be disappointed!

Food is good but today went there waited 20 minutes in line for the girls just to talk on her phone to whoever I guess Customer are not important
And remember my star rating is on service non-​food would give a higher rating for on the stars for food

Their mexican food is pretty but what sets them apart from other places is their green sauce. So bomb.

Had the wet burrito n tried the hard shell chicken tacos. Both were good and great portion. And don’t forget the horchata! Definitely will be coming back

My family and I have been to this spot since before it was
«el habanero». The only reason we go is because its the closest to our house. There is always something wrong with our order. Especially when we phone in our order and since we caught on that they always mess up on our order we make sure to specify and be as clear as we can when making our orders. Somehow we always end up a taco short or when we unpack the food at home someone ends up with out their order. And the most annoying is the thin spread of Guac you get for a whole burrito for a dollar. The person taking our order needs to get it together. The food is good the service is terrible

This place is not even worth it I use to eat here before like every Mexican spot they rarely hook it up on the portions and they are stingy on the food for rip off prices don’t even go here not worth it especially if you want to get rip off.

Came in with Family based on Unilocal review. They brought all of items at different times so we ate all separately. I got a wet burrito with red sauce, no great flavor what so ever sauce almost seemed canned. My son got Taquitos, which where pre frozen and SUPER DRY with I’m thinking meat which was sprinkled on cause I didn’t taste it … Not the best in town But customer service was great.

I’ve been here several times and never disappointed. Come try this place out. Friendly service and they have a punch card so after five visits free soda then after ten Freeeeee breakfast burrito.

Love the tacos but spent almost an entire hour waiting for my tacos to come out and there was only 1 customer who was ahead of me. When i looked over saw my food sitting behind the counter while the staff joked around in Spanish i decided to ask if it was ready the young guy behind the counter apologized but said he doesn’t know why they’re taking their time.

Ordered a wet Carne asada burrito with green sauce, guacamole and a side order of rice/​beans.
I had found this place from looking up mexican food on Unilocal and based on the reviews I thought this would of been a good place to go. It was not that great. The overall flavor of the burrito wasn’t there, there was not a wow factor I guess you can say to the burrito. The rice and beans weren’t that great either. The burrito tasted similar to an albertos burrito, maybe a little bit less good (if I had to chose between the 2 I would chose albertos, which isn’t saying much). I got one of every hot sauce they had and the only one that was good was the green sauce they used for the wet burrito. The avocado looking one had a bad after tatse. The asada was blan, rice/​beans blan and I tried drenching the wet burrito in even more hot sauce to add better flavor.
Customer service was great though!
I’m really into clean eating and every once in a while I have a cheat meal, so I try to find the best places to go to enjoy that cheat meal. All I can say is that if I’m having a cheat meal and am craving a burrito it won’t be from this place.

I always go here for taco Tuesday. They have good prices during the week and the food is good. Great service. You don’t have to wait a long time for the food to come out either.

Great find right down the street from the climbing gym! Had a bomb green wet burrito with adobada and drenched it in their habanero sauce (we were warned about the habanero sauce but while tasty it was only white girl spicy and not Mexican spicy). The food was really good and authentic but while leaning against the window my shirt got stuck because it was dirty so that’s why this place lost a star. I would come back and recommend this place for sure.

Only been here once. We had their nachos which I do not recommend. The nachos need to be loaded up with ingredients. Did they forget to add ingredients? Perhaps. Street tacos were good. Need to go back to try them again to see if I can make this my taco place.

This place is the best go to taco shop!!! I always order chicken tacos or a chicken quesadilla! Their food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. I have also ordered takeout many times and their service is quick and reliable. Must try for taco lovers!

Ordered breakfast, waited a while for my order. My friend was halfway done with her food by the time I received my order. I was not impressed with food or price value.

OMG! All this time that my girlfriend and I been in riverside, the first Mexican restaurant that we tried together was so damn delicious!
We might of waited long, but the wait was worth it!
The carne asada burrito and taco is the reason why we love Mexican food! We will be coming there more often that now we have found a superb place than a mediocre place.

Let me start by saying I was already in a bad mood even having to come here. I was Dead set on getting some birria for my sunday breakfast but my regular spot had such a long line that I was unable to wait. So logically I hoped on Unilocal to find another Mexican spot. I found this place actually pretty close to my other spot.
They have a limited menu, and the floor plan is cramped with not much seating. After ordering 3 tacos and a medium drink I was standing around playing tetris, and boom before I realize it, it’s been over 15 minutes waiting for 3 measly tacos!!! Horrible. Finally I get my tacos, and the cup for my drink. FML… they are out of ice. I’m seething by this point.
I get to my car, bite into that first taco and man, I have to admit, it was one of the best carne asada tacos ever. I’m not some jerk that doesn’t know his tacos. Trust me, these are legit. They are the 1 redeeming quality of this place. I will be back!!!

When I walked in, I was surprised to see two young chefs behind the counter. They were neatly groomed and looked like they could be from an episode of Chopped.
I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito. It was large and not greasy, and I ended up eating only ½ and saving the rest for later.
I’ll be back to try other items on the menu.

I came here on Taco Tuesday. It wasn’t as packed as I expected for Taco Tuesday, but the wait was still pretty long. I would say I waited about 15 minutes for four tacos. I was starting to get anxious as to when I would finally get my tacos, «here they come!» «Nope those tacos are for that table.» «Oh wait here they come.» «Nope those are also for that table.» The cook made about 3 or 4 trips to the same table with a plate full of tacos. Needless to say that is probably the reason I waited so long for my two carne asada and chorizo tacos.
The carne asada tacos were delicioso! Comes with a little bit of purple onions and cilantro. The chorizo tacos were not that great. I don’t like it when the chorizo has the pasty texture to it. I don’t know if that has to do with the way they cook it or the type of chorizo they use. The red salsa gets a rating of 1. It was not spicy what so ever. At least not for my taste. I’m wondering if the green salsa was the hot one.
The menu here has a variety of delicious Mexican dishes. I look forward to coming back and trying something else, but I will probably skip the chorizo.

Great food! Their dollar tacos on Tuesday are DEFINITELY worth it! I got the asada tacos and used the green sauce. The beans and rice are amazing.
Love their horchata! Very flavorful!
