Dollar General

First time going into the store i bought 2 items and when checking out I waited 10 minutes until a gentleman and i went looking for a cashier which was ridiculous. The cashier did not even apologize for the wait she had a shaved head and was doing I don’t even know. Rude

Me and my daughter came here and expected a dollar tree like store (it was our first time here) this is like dollar tree on steroids they have such a huge selection I found the cutest rompers here for my daughter at a great price, air wick scents for cheaper than target prices, and a bunch of holiday decorations with good quality and affordable prices, we went crazy! the staff is very nice and friendly and we will definitely be coming back here regularly.

Reminds me of TN… Love this store.

Always heard of these from the Midwest states. Glad they came here. I love going there to save on items for the home and pet food. They have cheap seasonal items that are very cute. It is like a small WalMart. Good prices without the WalMart crowds. Good five dollar off coupons for every Saturday.

Being from the east coast this is like a little taste of what home used to be. Unfortunately my first time here wasn’t memorable.
It’s a very bad lay out, like they wanted to fit all the merchandise in so bad they didn’t care where they had to put it. They also had the red sale tags up from the previous week. I told the cashier and she told me that if its there they have to honor it. I told the other cashier who ended up checking me out and she said that all she can do is ‘honor 50% off the one item since it’s not scanning as on sale’. Two different stories. Luckily it still ended up as the same deal. They also do not let you stack manufacturer coupons (like $ 1 off two and $.25 off one of the same items. Target usually does this for me). And they didn’t even have certain sale products in stock that they were advertising on the first day of the sale! :/​
Since I live close by it’s not a hassle to make it here. Hopefully 2^nd attempt will be better.

Contrary to the name, this is not a dollar store. Dollar General is an established chain that exists in a good part of the US but hasn’t broke into the California market until recently. In terms of what’s in there, it’s kind of like a Mini-​Walmart that feels like a Dollar Tree. Lots of inexpensive home goods and foodstuffs at set price points. Unlike dollar stores, the majority of the things sold there are national brands, and even some stuff sometimes that is not commonly stocked elsewhere.
Pricing is hit or miss sometimes, and parking is a bit of a pain but it’s not a terrible place, especially if you need to make a quick trip and don’t want to deal with the hordes at Walmart a street over. They even offer paying through Paypal.
