What you’d expect from a great deli, and more! Chips and Deli doesn’t advertise it on the outside, but they make their chips from scratch! They’re very very tasty, and you can get them made from regular potatoes or sweet potatoes, and add salt, old bay, or other spices to your fancy. The sandwiches are suitably delicious, and the toppings fairly numerous(ex. spinache, mixed greens in addition to regular ‘ol shredded lettuce). Though apparently the space was formerly occupied by a Subway, there is none of that lingering Subway smell/favor. Every time I bite into my food there I’m so thankful it’s obviously NOT Subway. Probably the biggest thing that stands out about the place is the prices. Everything is pretty much a real steal, which is so difficult to find when you try to support other independent businesses, with sandwiches as cheap as under $ 5 and desserts for about 50 cents(cookies, cupcakes, etc.). The chips will run you up the most(small is 2.50, large is 4.50), but even the small is a nice, sizable proportion. And for the unique experience of home-made REAL chips, I’ll hand over an extra buck. Though I think it’s undeniably the best deli in the area(it’s one of the only delis, but even if there were more to choose from I’d still frequent it), I gave it 4 stars for a couple downsides. 1, I think they could make your sandwiches a little faster. Though baking the chips understandably takes a minute or two for some reason I always get a sense of the process not being as quick as it could. 2, the lady was once a bit unfriendly(not mean, just not overly talkative), and the man is sometimes /too/talkative. This, of course, is a matter of opinion. I think both are very nice people probably! 3, the décor could use some work. It’s definitely hole-in-the-wall looking, which I don’t think befits its tasty sandwiches and unique home-made chip product. But hey. I gave it 4 stars for a reason. Go forth and buy.
