I have to agree with the nay sayers. Customer service was less than avg, food avg, but what scared us was the utensils we got and the tea pot. One spoon had rust on it, like it was sitting in a shed for years. The tea pot had brown tea gunk at the pouring end, like it was never cleaned. Yuck.

Lemon chicken is amazing, garlic is also. chow mein is too die for! My favorite Chinese food in the central valley

Been coming here for years, one of my favorite Chinese places always full of flavor and the service is great. My favorite is the garlic chicken highly recommend, along with the mangolian beef.

With all great reviews I thought I’d like this place. The worst customer service ever, there was only 3 tables and 3 waitresses. No one ever checked on us to see how the food was if we needed more to drink. We will not be returning, the only thing good about this place is the rice.

By far the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. everything I’ve had from there is amazing. we love the salt and pepper shrimp, wonton soup, pork fried rice, and deluxe veggies. we have it regularly and it’s always so good

Been going here for years and WAS happy, but not anymore. Always tipped at least 20%+. But for some reason the waitress was not happy this particular day. Ordered an app and she brought something different to the table. I politely said that’s not what we wanted. And then came an immense amount of attitude and she told me I would have to keep it. I said, no I didn’t order that and I do not want it. I will go somewhere else. So we got up to leave after being yelled at by the waitress. A person in our party wanted to pay for 2 sodas we ordered even though we did not drink them, we did order them. The waitress then charged the one in our party for the sodas and the app we didn’t want. She ran his card for the full transaction amount with him not realizing that he was not just paying for the soda’s. I noticed the amount on the credit card transaction slip was not just for the sodas. I told him and now we’re both getting upset at this point. Finally the owner came over and scolded this waitress in a foreign language and refunded the credit card. Very bad experience. Will not be returning.

By far my fave Chinese Restaurant. I like the sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice, garlic green beans, and chicken chow mein. Def recommend!

Have been going here 6 years still taste like the 1^st time I had it. Best Chinese food in all of Riverbank and Modesto combined. Foods always fresh and hot. The staff is very friendly, nice and clean interior A+

I ate lunch here yesterday. I started with cream cheese wontons, they were some of the best I’ve had. I ordered the salt and pepper shrimp with fried rice and chow mein. The salt and pepper shrimp was good. The chow mein had a lot of noodles and had good flavor. No need for additional soy sauce. I would have liked to have had more cabbage and sprouts in it, but it was good. The fried rice was closer to white rice with carrots, pees and some pork. To me it needed more soy sauce during the cooking process. But again it was decent with some added soy sauce. The service was great. There were two very nice waitresses that did an excellent job with drink refills and we’re very friendly… Overall, it was pretty good and I would definitely go back.

Delicious food and great service. Some of the best Chinese food I have had in the area.

Went her tonight with hubby and toddler twins, not bad. Under $ 40 for us all and we got the following.
Potstickers — they were home made, okay but a little watery
Garlic chicken — we loved this, my new fave sweet and garlicky with a pinch of heat
Beef with snow peas — too salty for my taste, just okay
Vegetable chow mein — noodles were good and the kids loved them but there were not enough the veggies were in huge pieces and made it look like more was there
Steamed rice — it’s steamed rice
Service was pretty good, but it seemed like there were a few too many people behind the counter, idk. Will go back again and try some different stuff next time.

My kids & I love the food. Great prices for lunch! Never had any problems. To go or done in.

Grand China in Riverbank on Oakdale Road! I am a picky Chinese food eater and I have finally found a restaurant that I like!!! The lady, (I’ll get her name next time), is awesome, very nice and made us feel like we were welcome. You know how some places barely even notice you are there ~ not here, I arrived w/​some friends and she took time with each of us. Ok, great service ~
And great food, I had the Garlic Chicken, chow mein and rice lunch plate and it had the right amount of seasoning and perfect temperature. I haven’t had good chow mein in a long time, yet I ate all of this! It’s a place to go out of your way for!

Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Riverbank. The food tastes great and when you dine in you’re served promptly. Take out is great too but you will get larger portions when dining in.

Wow why didn’t I ever check this place out and I’ve lived in Riverbank all my life. This place is seriously my new favorite Chinese restaurant! The food tastes so authentic and fresh!

Solid Chinese restaurant with good lunch specials. Salt and pepper shrimp with extra jalapeños and chowmein with little starter soup. Good portions and prices. Full menu also available.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the central valley. Just about everything here is so fresh and quick. There is no greasy, tasteless, dry fried rice or chow mein here.
Their lunch menu is a steal, with huge plate combos ranging from $ 5 – 7. Some of the things I’ve tried that are absolutely to die for: salt and pepper shrimp, szechuan scallops, mushu pork, curry chicken, lemon chicken, shrimp with lobster sauce, and spicy noodle soup.
The owner is so sweet and always remembers me. The service is very quick.
I must say that I do disagree with a few people about the garlic chicken. It’s the only thing I’ve had that I didn’t care for. It didn’t even seem like it was the same quality as the other food. But everything else is delicious and fresh. It’s very hard to find fresh Chinese food. This place is worth trying.

An honest 5 stars. Order the garlic chicken. I was also told to try the peking shrimp.
Try the Peking shrimp and Lemon Chicken. Great food!

Buffet Man Sez: This place has been one of our favorites for years since moving here. Noodle aficionados take notice… their Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodles is freakin’ awesome. Wife is super picky and loved cake noodle with minute chicken back in Hawaii. Pretty much hates the rest. She likes their Pan Fried Noodles… nuff said.
Now when we go, we don’t order. Waitress asks us, «the usual?» We say «yep.» She lists the items, pork fried rice, garlic chicken, and pan fried noodle. «Yep» Eat. Smile.
Highly recommend.
P. S. If you can, eat the food in the restaurant. Take out in sweaty styrofoam will usually mess up most hot food items.
