Second time ever being here. Still overpriced. This time, not only was the food terrible like last time, it wasn’t seen for an hour and a half! I get it, Father’s Day was packed. But when the people who came in 15 minutes before us got served after our 1 hour mark, then that shows we were never paid any mind. The moment we got to the bar my grandfather and aunt(who drove 2 hours from San Jose) had to get the barmen’s attention three times before we got any service. When we finally got our food they gave us everything for free as an apology, but with shitty food, it’s not that much of an apology. Service was bad, timing was bad, and I’ll never go there again unless the people I love want to, for some reason, go there again. Prices must be high because profits and customers are low. Recommendation: get better staff who know what the fuck they’re doing. Waste of 2 hours on Father’s Day and infamously the most memorable.

Great place for a good steak. Our only complaint is that it seems there is always a wait to be seated, sometimes 10 to 20 minutes even though there are a lot of empty tables. Once seated though, we rarely have an issue. Great service, great food.

They should change the name of this eatery to «Cool Hand Pukes» It was that bad. The waitress said that they were running behind because they were training some new kitchen help. My steak was way under cooked but I was not about to send it back and wait another 45 minutes. I did not complain but came away unhappy. enter at your own risk

All I can say is I am thoroughly impressed. Today I received a call from James(the manager) who was incredibly awesome. I knew right away this manager was about business and making things right. He completely took responsibility for the businesses mistake and was 100% sympathetic to my evening and the issue. I can’t say enough good things about a business who fixes errors. I am completely thankful for the apology and desire to keep me as a customer. I have complete faith restored in Cool Hand Luke’s and will once again be a loyal customer. Thank you James!

Since the new management took over we have been here four times, tonight being our last. the service has always been good but the kitchen has had a laundry list of issues. Clam chowder that’s watery, my other half’s prime rib that came out cold(physically to the touch it had a chill to it) food overcooked to the point of being burnt and even after complaining to the waiter on two occasions with two different waiters basically said«please don’t say anything is wrong with it because the cooks are upset that I brought it back. Wait times to get a basic meal for the last three trips was about 70 minutes from the time we sat down at the table. We swore we would never come back after the third time but went back because we were given a gift card and in hopes that 6 months would be enough for some changes in the kitchen but tonight was just as bad as our last three experiences. Sorry we just cant bring ourselves to go back again. So as to not let this be all negative, the sourdough rolls are very good, but not what I would call a mean in themselves. For the price ill drive a little bit further to Modesto where I can get a piece of beef cooked correctly and with flavor. To the cooks in the kitchen, seasoning would be a nice touch, well any would be for that matter.

Mike gave us great service. The strawberry lemonade was excellent. Calamari was brought out wrong twice. Every steak is lacking in flavor. Seasoning is nonexistent. I’ve never had worse Tri-Tip in California. The Tri-Tip was tough and had the taste you get after you eat a cold beef hot dog… gross.

I am new to town and work down the street from this place and decided to try it out with my mom. LETMETELLYOU, the food was so good and the service is even better. Their ribs practically melt in your mouth. Best ribs I’ve ever had. I will be back(:

Don’t waste your time. The bar area has a great happy hour on drinks, but other than that, I’m not impressed. My steak was cold, my lobster mac was so fishy I had the waitress remove it from the table, and it took forever to get a refill on a drink and to get our food! Over priced and nasty!!!

The place is ok, it is owned by the Perko’s chain so dont expect anything too fancy or over the top. I was pretty disappointed when I ordered the steak and shrimp and only got 1 shrimp sitting on top of my steak…

You can get a decent Steak here, usually mine come just as ordered. Campfire beans and sourdough dinner rolls come with the meals along with your choice of a side. Service has always been decent, although once we were seated in the far South East corner of the place and were promptly forgotten. The place has a bar that is decently stocked and has friendly bartenders. As someone else mentioned the parking lot is really dark at night, it could use a few lights to brighten it up a bit.

Cool Hand Luke’s is like any other restaurant you go to. Sometime they’ll have good service sometimes they’ll have horrible service. The food is okay, it is not to die for. I got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. The chicken fried steak was okay. The mashed potatoes were bland and dry. The veggies were more like steamed and thrown on the grill for a couple minutes. I have also had their steak. You need to ask for it medium well or else its going to be a dry chunk of charcoal. Their mushrooms on top of the steak are amazing!!! It depends what you order here, somethings are good somethings aren’t. It is not super expensive, for a family of 4 we pay around $ 70.00−80.00.

Try their happy hour menu it was OK. Jalapeño poppers for the best followed by the fried zucchini potato skins and lastly the buffalo wings. It was OK tasting and look. The buffalo wings were a little rubbery and slightly cold, the fried zucchini’s were very delicious and the potato skins too. The best with the jalapeño poppers where you get a burst of jalapeño and bacon all wrapped into one. The steak dinner looked OK not the best I have seen so if you’re in the mood for OK steak and happy hour this is the place for you.

Walked in no hostess… waited over 5 minutes… once we put our name in and went to the bar… it was packed with no bartender in sight. She was waiting tables… got our beers and waited another 30 minutes to be sat… was quoted 20 minutes. Went to our table… seats were ripped and had to ask 3 times for silverware… the couple next to us had a cracked glass… server didn’t take it… he left it and said okay I’ll toss it after you leave. The food was bland and the curtains by our table hadn’t been dusted or cleaned in years. Not the best foo or experience.

At first it was headed to A 5 star place. We were seated within 5 minutes of getting there. Had our drinks fast. The server was great at first. I guess some of her friends came in and sat across from us and rather than do her job. She chopped it up with her friends. I never complain in front of other people. I think it’s cheep. So this is where I complain. The food was great. I had a new York stake and my wife had a hamburger. Both came with lots of extras. All were very good. The place is clean, good music, clean air bathrooms are clean, but the parking needs more light’s. Other then the young lady yapping with her friends & lighting. I did enjoy this place. I left very happy and full. The prices are a little high. But you do get great food. So it’s well worth it. I’ll be back. GPKEN

Been here many times with family and every time we go here, they serve us great steaks. the staff is very courteous and the service is great, just be ready on some weekends to wait to be seated, that just goes to show how good this place is. My wife and I have celebrated our anniversary there for the last 2 years, and the next one is our 30th so gonna have to go there again.

Been here many times in the past and I thought they had some of the best steaks in the area but looked at Unilocal before this last trip and was concerned that maybe they had dropped off a bit. Happy to say they haven’t! With the beans and rolls they give you up front, my wife and I always split a steak which is always enough. Today, once again, they did not disappoint. Ask for medium-rare and got medium-rare. Very happy I can rely on this place for a good meal.

So grateful for our waiter Alex. It’s my husbands birthday and he wanted steak I happen to be vegan(I know annoying) so anything for my husband I just wasn’t going to eat. My husband told Alex I was a vegan and he said he would work something out with the kitchen manager. Came out with a delicious veggie plate. Very thoughtful and our drinks were always full.
