Food portions are huge. Good selection. Service was a bit slow but there was a big party right next to us so it’s hard. To tell what it’d be like normally.

well. I called the location to see if they take reservations, for a Friday the Gentlemen who answered the phone told me to come on in. Why is this important? I will tell you. The person who answered the phone when I called was the Owner, how do I know that? I remember his voice, and when my wife and two daughters and I arrived the service started. The service that night was the best I have had in many years. The drinks, appetizers, and main course were brought like a good dance. Every employee helped each other in asking and following up on our every request. I was tired and my wife didn’t want to make dinner, and even though I was not wanting to drive out to Modesto from Patterson, I am glad I did. The Owner is a great Leader, who cares for his Guest. I have looked over many of the reviews given about Mike’s Roadhouse after I eat there last week 9÷7÷12 And they get 4 **** from me why not 5? I will save my last star for them when I and my family go back with friends soon… I had the steak and it was good Med rare, wife had the serf & terf she enjoyed it too. The girls were happy and had room for some sweetness after which we all shared. out the door aprox. 97 $ + tip for four. a good friday for all. Thank you Mike J. Tenorio USN/Chef

Amazing. I didn’t think much of Modesto. But then I stopped in at Mike’s Roadhouse! Mike himself takes care of customers even though he is well staffed. The décor is great. The food is wonderful. Great beer! COLD! Mike even made sure I had time to absorb my beers and made me feel welcome to stay until I was ready to ride. A great place for bikers! Probably wanna bring the Harley so you can park at the front door. Mike is the STAROFMODESTO! This is my only stop in this town from now on. Thanks Mike!

Good food and great service. We were watching the Dodgers and Giants on tvs that are placed all over the restaurants. The six of us sat comfortably at two high tables. My husband and I shared the mixed plate linguini. A little pricey, $ 18.00, but oh so delicious. Steak, chicken and scallops all mixed with a delicious mushroom sauce. They split the order for us as there is no way we could have had an order by ourselves. Delicious fresh brewed iced tea too. Support the locals and give this place a try. Quaint and clean!

I really wanted to like this place. It’s really cool, the servers are so nice and the food was quick. My issue is with the food itself. The beer was so flat, it tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The fried appetizer plate… I really believe it had been previously cooked and re-heated before they served it to us. It had that soft smooshy texture on the breading(it was breaded cheese, and raviolis) I didn’t order anything after that. I actually went across the street to another place for more drinks and food.

Really great atmosphere. Not real loud at all. Owner working right along side his employees. Very impressive. Service is top notch the food just okay, I had chicken strips, wife had a burger and a glass of wine. Restroom spotless and so was the restraunt. Little pricey, so are the cocktails. $ 9.00 for a long island at 6pm is about $ 3 too much. to sum it up… chicken strips, a burger, and two drinks was $ 40+. Sadly won’t be returning.

Walking into this place my expectations were not very high. Our waitress was very nice but I felt like she was yelling at us. The other waitress was a yeller too… hmmm, maybe that’s a requirement to work there? I had the Steak Sandwich with mushrooms and it was awesome! The meat was so tender, flavorful and juicy. The bread was soft and fresh. The fries were yummy too, they were similar to a beer battered fry… delicious, didn’t even need my side of ranch. I was pleasantly surprised by how good my sandwich was. Would definitely go back if I’m in the area.

I’ve only been here twice, this time we came after church on a Saturday night. The service was great but I was really confused on who we should tip, not the server that’s for sure. I think Mike himself did most of the work rather than his own employees. My biggest problem was the waiter talking over me and saying«well I would have ordered this but ya that’s good to». When I didn’t even ask for any advice. Everyone enjoyed their food for the most part. I think I ate more fries than my actual meal tho. If I do return, it won’t be because I choose so.

For some odd reason when I am outta town on bussiness I crave a good steak. Not being familiar with the area I cruised around the mall in hopes of finding a place that could fill my craving. I stumbled upon Mike’s and felt pretty confident this place could deliver. And it did! Service was spot on, steak dinner was spot on, and the hospitality was an A+. I will definitley go back if I am in town. BIG shout out to Mike and his crew!!!

I give them one star because of the customer service. If it wasn’t for the friendly waitress, they wouldn’t get any star. I ordered the King’s Roadhouse platter(½ rack of ribs, sirloin steak, chicken, vegetables, bread, and mashed potato), unfortunately the only thing that tasted like it should was the bread. The theme for that night was over cooked everything. The waitress asked how I want my steak cooked, medium rare. She brought me something that had been on the fire since the Clinton Administration. The ribs was boiled before they threw it on the grill to get two grill marks and some BBQ sauce. Overall, I think Mike’s Road(kill) would be more appropriately named for the place. The price is not bad for the portion, however if you break it down to edible food, way over priced. Bread should not cost $ 80 for three people. Next time I want ribs, I’d take McDonald’s over Mike’s any day.

We don’t eat here since I was served hair in my food, not once but twice. Once in the salad dressing, once in a bowl of soup. I will say the staff is friendly and the bar drinks are good… but I don’t need the stress of wondering if I’ll get a little extra something in the salad or soup…

Saturday afternoon, rain clouds on the horizon we decided to take a ride down to Mike’s just to get out, and have a little lunch. i looked at the reviews for Mikes and they were mostly 3’s and 4’s. Good enough to give it a try. First on entry, greeted and seated quickly, drinks within like 2 minutes, and a very helpful young waitress. We all had lunch Items one a Philly Cheese steak, FF a «Hwy 101» salad, and I had a Hot Pastrami on french roll with fries. All pretty much lunch items. All of us were pleased with out orders, nice sandwiches, and the salad was huge, enough to bring home for FF’s dinner. I don’t know what people are looking for when they go 2 or 3 on this place, then in the next breath groan about the other chain places nearby. The owner personally checked on us, the manager on duty checked drinks several times, the waitress was on the spot, and the food was good. Add to that, a clean facility, clean restrooms and a nice local touch, and you’ve got Mike’s. We won’t hesitate to take another ride down for an afternoon lunch ride. One other thing if you’re going back up to Stockton or out that way, Rather than piling on 99, take a ride out through Escalon and Riverbank and enjoy some of the Spring Almond blossoms, and the farming and ranching industries that are still the back bone of our Big Valley.

I have always spoke highly of Mikes Roadhouse since it opened. The last time I ate their I was single and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Since than I’m married and have 3 children. I went this past Saturday and it seems l pretty much the same except for the prices. The service is almost too good. I saw 4 servers trying to remove the plate from a little lady at the next table which in turn she had to tell each one she still had a bite left. I could tell she was a little annoyed. They have this one guy that comes around and wants to make balloon animals for the kids. This is great if I was at Chucky Cheese but for the price of our dinner I would have preferred taking a real animal home. I could have gone without the balloon boy. I had an ice tea, some clam chowder and the S.F. Patty melt. The tea and soup where good. the Patty melt had two patties in it an didnt have too much flavor. I like Jack in the boxes Sour dough melt better. My wife had a burger, soup and water. She said she would have preferred a Red Robin Burger. My 3 year old daughter didnt eat anything because she ate at the mall, my 1 year old shared our french fries which was in abundance and my 6 year old ordered the spicy chicken strips from the appetizer menu that ran at $ 9.99. He enjoyed them but I think he would have been just as happy with a happy meal. Thats my bad. Not including tip our bill was over $ 50. Now that might not seem too bad for most people but in this economy $ 50 for 2 hamburgers and chicken strips is more than I wanted too pay and by my wife’s expression I could tell she was displeased herself. She looks at our online bank statement everyday and tells me she cant believe we spent that much. Its time for Mikes Roadhouse to get a overhaul! Its not enough for me to go their because they serve clam chowder everyday anymore.

Excellent service, good food. I went there with a group of 8 and the service was great. Food and beer arrived quickly. I had the philly cheesesteak. I like how they butter the bread. It was good, but I could feel my arteries clogging up. But if I did have a heart attack, I’m sure Mike and his staff would save my life. That’s how good the service was. Definitely a cool place to eat and pre-party before going to the bars. I love the fact they have jello shots there. Reminds of my college days… or actually was it this past halloween… who knows… who cares. I love jello shots.
