I just stuck my finger down my throat because the labeled the wrong box and because I’ve had their gf stuff before and you couldn’t tell the difference, I didn’t know until half way through. I will never return. They refunded our entire order but a mistake like that is hard to forgive.

This is a family business and they have true gluten free dishes. Because they have separate kitchen for gluten free food. And the desert is unbelievable!!! You ll have to try them all. Tiramisu and chocolate mousse. It’s best gluten free dessert you can find. Truly amazing.

I’ve been to this place 2 or three times and really, REALLY appreciate the consideration and effort to cater to those who can’t eat wheat and are usually excluded from the joys of Italian cuisine. They have a gluten free tiramisu, which the first time I saw it in the menu almost made me cry with joy. I love getting the prosecco, too. Drinks do not appear to be over priced and overall the place seems to be very family oriented. The portions are HUGE, too. They actually put effort into cooking the gluten free pasta correctly, which, when you aren’t careful, can turn into much rather easily. Thank you, Da Luciano. We love you. Thank you for not being a trite chain like Francesca’s.

Their white pizza with garlic sauteed spinach is THEBEST pizza I have ever eaten. It’s not on the menu as such, instead, it’s white pizza and we add sauteed spinach. Pizza 5 star, some food 4 stars. Cannoli is 5 star! The owner/chef Luciano is Sicilian. Cannoli is a Sicilian pastry. Luciano,‘s are simply fabulous.

We came here because of the gluten free menu. I can not say enough about this place. The staff is very attentive, the dining room is very comfortable. Parking seems very adequate. But most of all the gluten free food is over the top. I could point out so many positives but definite do not miss is the house made salad dressings. Especially the creamy garlic. You will want to eat it by the spoonful!!!

Great place, great service, great food and a great price. Italian at its best and its local. The owner is a nice guy and makes sure your meal is up to par. I’ve been here a dozen times and it has never let me down. Tip: not on the menu pollo balsamico. A very unique dish… Desert .the cannoli has held up as best I’ve ever had … Try it you’ll love it.

Very good family owned business. Their seafood plates rock and their bread basket is a very nice touch. Instead of Olive Garden go to a family-owned business such as this. You will get great food plus good service!

Wow! This place has one of the most extensive gluten-free menus I have come across at a restaurant. A classmate of mine who has Celiac told me about this place, raving about how good it was. I’m disappointed in myself for not trying it sooner because it was SOGOOD! I am not a huge fan of Italian food, but Da Luciano is my one exception. I ordered the GF Chicken Parm, GF tiramisu, and GF cannoli. GF Chicken Parm — came with a side of pasta. The breaded chicken and pasta were terrific! GF tiramisu — the BEST tiramisu I have ever had. Way better than any gluten-containing varities I have tried in the past. I don’t normally like the taste of it, but I had to try it since so many Unilocalers approved. They were definitely right. GF cannoli — I only had a bite of it, because if I ate the tiramisu and cannoli in one sitting, I would need to get a script for diabetes medication. It had a hint of orange flavor to it, which I’m not crazy about, but for what it was, it was good. I can’t wait to eat here again in the future. I’m curious about every menu item now that I have had a taste.

This is 1 of the friendliest restaurants that River Grove has to offer. They are typically busy, which is a great problem to have. You may have to wait a few minutes to be seated, but if they offer you the patio — please accept. I’ve dined inside and outside and have had wonderful service every time. Not to mention, they usually bring out waters and bread/butter, which is a must. My little family and I have slowly been exploring and experimenting with the seafood dishes and appetizers and we’re always satisfied. I will try the pasta, soon/someday. Parking is easy and available. Pricing is right. What else can I say? I’ll be back!(in arnold schwarzneger’s voice)

Undeniably delicious food. I’ve never had a bad meal. The restaurant’s expansion a few years ago solved a lot of the space issues. The staff is very friendly and the owners are often floating around the room mingling with diners. Great local place. Also worth the drive if you’re coming from the city and have guests who need to eat gluten-free.

Came here with the family to celebrate my dad’s birthday. This is their FAVORITE Italian place. I also give this joint props for having such an extensive gluten-free selection of yummies. I had the shrimp diavolo linguine and my fiancé had a seafood special(mixture of seafood with linguine in a garlic-oil sauce). Both were tasty. I have to say that this place is a good pasta-heavy option for people who like Italian comfort food. I think the friendliness of the owners and waitstaff kick it up another notch above your regular pasta place. Good food!

My Husband and I came here for an impromptu meal the other night. We have been having lots of issues finding gluten free options for my hubs. He has been unable to eat out because of his dietary restrictions. Da Luciano’s was a drive but 100% worth the short drive. This is a cozy restaurant that is bustling with gluten free and non gluten free people just enjoying the amazing food. We didn’t have a reservation so we had to wait a little bit but we didn’t mind waiting. We observed the cook and owner walking around, kissing customers on the cheek, the chef checking on how everyone liked their food. My kind of place. I always appreciate that gesture. I had the rigatoni boscaiola and the hubs had the gf chicken parm. The food was unbelievable. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was creamy and jam packed with flavor and love. My husband truely enjoyed the gf chicken parmigiano. He said that even if he wasn’t eating gluten free, he still would love to eat that ten times over. I mean i love how they have a dedicated menu just for gluten free items. I love how they cater to people with all different kinds of tastes. The service was good and he had his suggestions that helped me(Mrs. Indecisive) make my final decision. Prices weren’t bad and very easy to get to. They have a parking lot next to the building. I can’t wait for the next time we can eat here. I had a fantastic meal through and through.

A great neighborhood restaurant. Good food, great staff, lovely owners. I really like their outdoor patio. Since they expanded their space it is a lot easier to get seated but there may still be a wait on the weekends.

My husband and I came here for dinner on a Friday night. This is a busy restaurant, but we managed to get a table shortly after arriving without a reservation. The staff was very nice and accommodating. It did take awhile for our waiter to come take our order. maybe it’s the culture that we’re not used to? My husband and I chatted for awhile before they came to take our drink and appetizer order. The complimentary bread took awhile to get to our table, too. We noticed it was a delay for other tables around us as well, so we thought it could just be the culture that we’re not used to. After our appetizer came, we still haven’t placed our entrée order. Our waiter did come and tell us that he’ll be back with us. it took maybe 10 minutes before he came back to take our entrée order. We were already finished with our appetizer. He was a very nice waiter, though. I ordered the rigatoni alls tuscans(rigatoni with mushroom and light cream sauce). I enjoyed it. It was good. My husband ordered their special — forgot the name of it but it was pretty much pounded meat on top of fettucini with sauce. He said the sauce was too salty for his liking, so he ate most of my noodles. The seafood stuffed mushroom appetizer that we ordered were good. My husband didn’t enjoy his food too much because the sauce was too salty for him to enjoy. We ended the night with tiramisu to go home with. That was decent. He gave this restaurant a 3, I would give it a 4. since Unilocal doesn’t do .5 rating since I would give this a 3.5, I would put this close to a 3 due to the slow service. Don’t get me wrong — they are very nice. they treat you like family/friends, but it took quite awhile before we got our food and place our orders for food.
