I lived near this Federico’s for a few years now but never had the urge to try it until one day we did and surprise, it was great! I’m a taco fan, not a any-old-taco-will-do fan, I’m picky. Don’t get me wrong, tacos are usually my go to at a Mexican or New Mexican restaurant so I’m ok with«ok» tacos — I’m not a taco snob, but if the tacos aren’t great the first time I’ll opt for something else next time. Federico’s is a Mexican restaurant(not New Mexican). So far I’ve tried many of the taco combinations but the asada tacos are my favorite! The asada fries are also worth the trip. The portions are pretty big for the price and if you dine inside you get access to great salsa bar that has a variety of salsas and toppings for your meal. For a fast food, drive-through place I really was surprised to find out how good they were.

My brother lives right down the street and every time I’m in town I petition to eat there for EVERY meal. It’s not one of those destination eateries where you go so far out of your way just to eat there, it’s one of those places you deeply wish was right around the corner from your house so you could basically compose your entire diet from their menu. Much love.

After 10 years of enjoying their breakfast burritos I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Unfortunately after today’s experience I may never return. There is a blonde girl with a lip piercing that works here and I advise if she is working come back another day as you will probably end up like me not wanting to ever come back and being separated from such awesome food. She does not care if your order is right or wrong(mine was wrong) then when I came back(all the way from my house) she again didn’t care that my order was wrong and after a second time still couldn’t get it right. Not a single apology she is plain rude maybe she’d be a better cook. So beware if she is working go somewhere else that day she may just make you second guess about ever coming back again. I will being avoiding this place just to avoid interacting with her.

Some of the best CA style Mexican food around! Have yet to order anything bad to eat here. The service is slow, so go in and order, otherwise you’ll be sitting at the drive through window forever. It’s always worth the wait though.

Omg, this place is absolutely disgusting. Based out of Phoenix. They have no business trying to compete in NM. Stay away. Yuck yuck yuck

Three words: Carne Asada Fries. For a really great tasting, bad-for-you meal. Layer of fries comes with a scoop of guacamole and a scoop of sour cream, covered in carne asada and cheese. Have tried the rolled tacos, was not impressed. Also the guacamole by itself seems bland. I will be back for the fries and the fries only, on cheat day of course!

Good greasy, CA styled Mexican food. I don’t think this place does too well in town but it’s modeled after a very successful chain that is all over southern CA. Classic hangover food. Food you wanna eat after a long night of drinking and partying. For those late night munchies this is great! Give the carne asada a try. Oh. Don’t forget the horchata.

The Carne asada is always awesome and I love the rolled tacos also. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Good food — fast service. Delicious salsa, and shrimp cocktail. Fresh food — friendly customer service.

Taquitos are not the same as tacos. I wanted taquitos. I wondered why my order was so pricey. Found a wrong order when I got home.

Been eating at this place off and on for the last 4 years or so. Overall their food is good. The servings are really big and filling. The drive through can be a bit slow at times but this is because their food is made fresh so it is understandable. I haven’t had good authentic Mexican food like this since my family used to live in Texas. The prices are really fair as well. The salsas that they have here are also really good. My favorite plate here is the chimis, the shrimp burrito, and the menudo. I’ve also tried their steak burritos and they are a little salty but still good. The only reason for the non-perfect rating is because the interior can be a bit dirty at times because the tables aren’t cleaned immediately when guests leave.

This is one of the only places on this side of town that does legit Mexican food. I’m from Cali so I’m used to pretty authentic Mexican food and when first coming to new mexico all I could find is new Mexican food which is a whole different ballgame from Mexican food. My favorite from this place is the mini tacos, I like to get them with steak and then smoother it in green sauce. Getting just 3 fills me up but if your really hungry go for the 5. They have deals with them Monday thru Friday. They take awhile 90%of the time so be prepared to wait(don’t do drive thru it will feel like eternity. However this I’d because everything is made fresh. Prices are cheap and sodas have free refills, however chips are extra. And their mini salad bar doesn’t really have salsa but the sauces you can put on top and the carrots, radishes, lemons/limes.

For fast Mexican food, it’s actually not bad. This is one my fiancé’s favorite quick stops. Their bean and cheese burrito is surprisingly yummy. I figured it would be a little bland and it was not. It’s very inexpensive for it’s size. Definitely better than the normal fast food burrito. Their salads are a little boring and can be not-so-fresh. The salad mix is either perfect or on the verge of going wilted. The chorizo breakfast burritos are a win, though. I have no complaints about those. I enjoy their nachos, as well. Those are typically a favorite. I am not a fan of their rice, at all. It’s pretty boring. I know they had a problem with bad chicken a while back, but hopefully, that got cleared up. Fast food is fast food, after all. The quality is not always to be trusted. I have never had a truly bad experience here, so it gets 3 stars. It’s not the best, it’s nto the worst. The food is typically good. The service is typically fast, especially in the drive through.

Wow this place is amazing! I go here all the time. There prices are a little high(every plate around 10 $) but the plates are huge. I love to get the carnitas burrito and then hit the salsa bar. I would suggest for anyone that likes mexican food to try this place out!!!

It is hard to find a real Mexican, not a New Mexican place here in town. This is the first one I’ve found and the breakfast Chorizo burrito is just like I remember my «mom» making, except this one is much larger! This is truly a Mom and Pop(or should I say a Momi y Papi) Two mexican born lovers that have worked in the food industry each individually trying to make it in the US, until one day they save up enough money(or probably take on a bunch of bank debt) to live out their dreams and provide food they learned to cook from grandmothers and other generations in their families. I can’t wait to go back! Open 24hrs!!! They’ve been around for a year now, and I pray they stay because YOU got eat their good food and support them!

Legit Mexican food is kind of a rarity in Albuquerque. Sure, you’ve got all the New Mexican places, but that’s hardly the same. Sometimes, I want a thin tortilla. Sometimes I want jalapenos instead of green chiles. Sometimes, I want cilantro, and pico de gallo, and guacamole. For those times, it’s nice to know there’s a place like Frederico’s. This place may not knock your socks off, but it does offer some very competent Mexican food at modest prices and without any of the ado of a sit-down restaurant. This food is served in paper, on paper, and it’s eaten with plastic, but it is hardly fast food in the same sense that Taco Bell is. Stuff here is fresh, made in house and out of quality ingredients. I’ve had the carne asada burrito(an Arizona staple) and the nachos, and both ended up being damn good. The burrito was fairly packed with deliciously grilled steak, pico de gallo, and cheese, and wasn’t at all greasy in it’s thin, stretchy, slightly chewy AZ-style tortilla. The nachos were almost comically large, absolutely piled up with meat, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and veggies, then doused with their complimentary taco sauce. Fantastic deal, but way more food than I could eat and not nearly as good the second day. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes Mexican food and understands the difference between that and NEW Mexican food. If you get the huevos rancheros here, you’ll be disappointed. They aren’t a New Mexican restaurant.
