Fresh Nails

Maria is like the master at acrylic tips. I love her. Haven’t been there in a while. Time for my black tips this week.
Its been too long.

I come to this salon often. It is my go-​to salon in my neighborhood. It isn’t the best but they get the job done and they try hard. The nails look good for a few days but sometimes they get a little loose on the sides and the color turns for one reason or another. They are a new location and seem pretty clean. One of the lady’s that used to work at Satisfaction nail salon is working at this salon now. She is honestly the best worker there and always treats me kindly. She always understands exactly what I want done. The prices are decent for the work you get done. They are just a couple of dollars more expensive than any other nail salon but they do take their time a bit more than other places. Also, free massages are always included no matter what you are getting done.

First of all, the correct address is 66 – 01 gates avenue.
Secondly, I went to this place once when I needed a pedi and tips ASAP. I called beforehand because it was already 5:30 and I knew they closed at 7. The woman said there was plenty of time and I could still go. I get there and she does my pedi first. I sit on the chair for the tips, and it was about 6:00. She was rushing beyond belief. It was as if she was closing in 5 mins. We were the only 2 people in there, when it came time to pay, she didn’t give me a receipt or paper with the price; nothing. She probably pocketed the money herself. Who knows.
One of my tips flew off the next day. Never again will I go here!

Not too bad for an 8 dollar mani. Really nice staff and considering I walked right in and was taken right away! There was a person in every seat being taken care of. My mani is okay I see little bubbles in it but it kinda looks like I had them add an «effect» type nail polish to it which I didn’t. But I totally like it. Only issue was the lack of colors and finishing of the mani. We shall see if I go back

This place is s*it, when I went there today– the first thing I asked was if they took credit card– she Asian lady said yes. After seeing that mani/​pedi was 18 dollars but signs that said credit card minimum was 20– I’m surprised she said yes they accept credit card when i told her I was getting mani/​pedi to begin with. After getting a subpar mani/​pedi– the lady doing the service asked me to pay before finishing. As I have her my credit card she said, «minimum 20 dollars» I told her well the lady told me she would accept my card. When she asked the Asian lady– the Asian lady said «that’s ok» and then said something in Spanish. When she brought me my receipt, I saw the total was 19. When I asked her what the extra dollar was for– she said it was because I used my credit card below the minimum. Wtf! Granted it’s a dollar but you should inform customers about things they are going to charge you for ESP when I asked beforehand. Also, they did my friends eyebrows– and they looked HORRIBLE!!! Don’t get service done here– most of them are Spanish anyways and I only trust Asian people. Sorry but it’s a fact. OH! I just checked my credit card and thy charged me twice. This place is so stupid !!!

This is the nail salon closest to my house. I go here sometimes, although I prefer M & M nails further down Fresh Pond towards Myrtle. Sometimes, though, I get lazy and don’t feel like walking all the way there. They have decent colors and they will do a decent manicure. There are two older Chinese ladies who run the place, and they hire a few other girls to do manicures and pedicures. The two ladies seem to treat their other employees kind of like shit, though… there’s one absolutely sweet, adorable girl there who they just hired and they barely let her do anything — they only let her do the pedicures or the gross stuff they don’t want to do. One time, I saw them let her start doing manicures and then they would kick her out once she did the hard part and they would finish and take the tips. I felt terrible for her. They also are a pretty small place and there’s always a line and it annoys me to have to wait 45 minutes just to get a manicure. They’re fine, but I’d rather go to M & M where the girls are all absolutely sweet and adorable and the colors are great as well.
