Sister Sister Nail Salon Spa

I’m an avid user of nail salons and I’m always trying out new ones. This one is a difficult one though. First off, they don’t have that many color choices. The employees that are working constantly stop what they are doing to gossip to one another. It’s literally like 3 min working STOP –gossip gossip-​, repeat repeat repeat. They notice that they screw up what service they’re trying to provide. Because they take a good 5 – 10 mins just fixing their errors.
P. S. They are WAYYYYY overpriced compared to other Maspeth/​Ridgewood nail places.

They look very clean and very friendly prices are not expensive so I was attracted right away, but when getting acrylic tips and fill-​ins apparently they aren’t being sealed properly and air and water goes under the nails causing discoloration. I’ve been getting acrylic tips for over 15 years and this has NEVER happened to me but this nail salon caused a few of my nails to turn green and grey. It’s horrible I am very disappointed.

Got my mani/​pedi just in time for my New Year’s celebration. Done very nicely and professionally. I’m very happy with Irene’s work.

Prices are really good. I feel like they could do better manicures — they always leave the side of my nails empty its like they forgot to do the sides lol .
I also feel like they could be better customer service wise. I had to walk around looking for my shoes and i was the only person there and the girl just watched me walk around for my shoes and pointed to where it was at. I had to put my own oil and wrap my own feet when i was leaving and she just watched me instead of helping.

I’ve been going to this nail salon since they opened last year. Service is very good, neat and professional. Prices are very reasonable, many different specials available.
I always do French shellac with some simple design as well as classic pedicure. It’s done very clean and neat, lines on the French are perfect.
Would definitely recommend this place.

OK, let me preface this review by saying that I stopped routinely going to nail salons about five years ago because I was sick of paying so much money for awful service and damaged nails. So, I’ve been doing them myself since then, with much more suitable results and disposable income.
Enter a incurable bout of laziness and I am in dire need of nail services. I reluctantly decide to stroll around the corner and walk into the first place I find, which is Sister Sister.
I asses the place and notice that it looks very clean, and everyone working has an accompanying photo and license on the wall. Off to a good start.
I was the only person there, but that didn’t last long. Despite the fact that traffic flow was increasing, there was no rushing of my pedicure. The woman (unfortunately I did not catch her name) continued to do an impeccable job and didn’t miss a single detail. This alone has me impressed.
After the very thorough pedicure, I wanted French manicure gel nails. Irene prepped my nails and suggested silk extensions for some of my stubbier nails that broke, which I thought was a great suggestion; one that was never even offered in experiences at other places. She too had impeccable attention to detail, and prepped my nails without using a rotary file. This sealed the deal as a place that I’ll gladly return to, as that is the correct way to do enhancements.
I also appreciated that there was no hard sell for additional services. They offer a wide range of colors for regular and gel polishes. Also, they offer the three best gel brands on the market: OPI, CND, and Essie.
Prices were certainly reasonable for the quality of services offered, and I will definitely be returning when laziness strikes again.
