I was told they have delicious cream puffs. When already in Queens, I’ll make that drive through confusing local streets and find my way to supposed cream puff perfection. They have two kinds of filling for their cream puffs, custard and cannoli. I bought a dozen of them, half of each. Both were delicious and it depends on preference as to which one is better. The pastry part of it was pretty good, but not as good as other places I’ve tried. The cannoli cream was really good. If you like slightly heavier and sweeter, go with the cannoli. The custard was lighter and less sweet, but the best part was how they got the consistency just right. I wouldn’t make the trip into Queens just for them. If you’re in the area, don’t even think about it, go get some cream puffs. I would like to come back next time and try their other items as well!

Yuck! I Love Italian bakeries but this is not one of them. Purchased mini pastries and rainbow cookies. Nobody liked any of it. Straight to the trash. The shell was disgusting, Tasted like cool whip was inside. Rainbow cookies were lack luster. Very disappointing. Will never go back.

Catania bakery is well known for a couple of things. To start, their cartocci are to die for and they were in the paper for them. So if you go there be sure to try one! Also their bread is amazing. I could eat a whole loaf of semolina bread alone. Everything is very affordable as well. Most of the girls are very helpful and kind. Oh! And in the summer they have really good gelato!

Pastry Haven Just ate the most delicious filled donut type pastry, called an Ennis, that was a close second to a Cronut. The Ennis is the best thing I’ve ever eaten besides Cronuts! Espresso was perfect! Cannoli was scrumptious! I live in Middle Village, so I can’t wait to go back now that it’s been revealed to me by Angelina Colombo-Khanamirian! Her old neighborhood haunt! Lucky me! Just go there! Eat anything! Unforgettable!

Stopped in here while food touring in Ridgewood; I was after the elusive cartoucci. But unfortunately I learned they sell out every morning. They do offer other pastries with cannoli cream though; bf and I split this empanada looking thing(sorry I forget the name). The shell was insignificant but the cannoli cream WAS good and very interested– 3.5 stars for that. It was solid and almost like an ice cream, not like an overly sugary cross typical cannoli cream. We also shared the chocolate cigar, which was basically a long rugalach stick. Good but not earth shattering a la Breads Bakery. The girl who rang us up was a delight and I could this bakery was a formidable contender in Ridgefood and beloved by the locals. You can find plenty of great Italian/Italian American numbers in here from various cookies to cakes. Stop in for sure and if you do get to try the cartoucci, let me know how it is!(It looks like a twist French crueller which cannoli cream)

Best Italian cookies and pastries in Ridgewood and pretty much anywhere else. Yes, better than Veniero’s or anything I’ve had in Little Italy. I’ve never seen cannoli-cream stuffed rainbow cookies before. Marzipan cakes, butter cookies, and assorted tarts have all been fresh and delicious. They recently started offering gelato — try the watermelon. I only wish they had a bigger selection of bread, but I also live close to Grimaldi’s, so I’ve got my carb bases well covered.

Stopped in here on Tuesday after our dinner at Bella Lena’s next store. Our server recommended we come in and try their rainbow cookies filled with canoli cream. She was right they were delicious. I am going to save the last star for the next visit. I am going to have them make my birthday cake, lol!

I have a simple request, bread with lots of seeds… That means their semolina bread. Toast it up and ready to go for great sandwiches. I think my drooling friends have another reason to hate me…

We used to live right around the corner from this place and I would get coffee and croissant for breakfast. Now we live one more subway stop away, and often make the ½ mile trek(despite having closer bakeries) just for those two things. I’m so happy to see that they’re growing… talk about an amazing place and lovely people who deserve success!

I was in the area and had Italian pastries on the brain when I found Catania. The place is small and straightforward bakery, and the staff was friendly. I went for my three staples: pine nut cookies, three layer rainbow cookies, and a cannoli. Everything was delicious! Too bad I don”t live in the area because I would definitely come back to try more!

This was one of my fave’s growing up… My mom used to send me there for Kaiser rolls every evening right when they were done making them … let me tell you by the time arrived home there was not much left! Hot delicious fresh bread … YUM! Their cheesecake and pastries are amazing as well. All the girls that worked were always super helpful!

Ok… listen to Frankie Ravioli:…if I was on death row, I would want a cannoli and a double espresso from Catania… This cannoli is everything you want it to be, and should be… The shell is crispy, never soggy, cause they fill them only when you order. Second… the ricotta filling… forgetaboutit…I can’t say enough… easily the best you will ever find… and I’ve had them in Palermo. Don’t ever go anywhere else for a cannoli I’m telling you… don’t be a mamaluke, do you have a problem with that?

I’ve lived near ridgewood my whole life so I am pretty accustomed to all things that are Catania bakery, but for whoever is not– delicious bread and awesome pastries. Nearby Russo’s or grimaldi’s cannot come close in comparison to the pastries at Catania. The cannoli’s are great, so are the tricolor cookies, butter cookies, gelato, pignoli cookies and if their is anything you HAVE to try it is the«INIS»(sicilian doughnuts with cannoli cream filling dusted in cinnamon sugar– I know, right!!) and«cassatedde»(Sicilian dough turnovers with cannoli filling). My family has a pasticceria in Sicily and when I want a pastry that brings me back, this is where I come :)

I’m never around in Ridgewood, and neither do I really go around for Italian pastries. But here I was rolling around with family in dire need for a cake. We saw the supermarket across the street, and figured I could probably get a premade cake at their bakery or something. But as I walked from the van towards the supermarket I saw this bakery open, so I figured I’d give it a try. And I’m so glad I did. I got in right before the place closed and grabbed a vanilla and chocolate cake. The girls inside got the writing all done very fast and were incredibly friendly. The cake tasted great, which was important for our family since we haven’t eaten traditional cakes for a while, always finding them lacking in flavor or far too heavy. This one was just right.

According to their ingredient list, the bread contains Azodicarbonamide– . It’s banned in Europe and may cause asthma. Also, their butter cookies were decent but stale and very artificial tasting. I won’t be back here. Try Grimaldi’s( ) or even Russo’s( ) for much better and safer food.
