Been going to this place since I was a kid. It’s still the best ice cream on east coast

4.5 Used to drive by this place all the time thinking it was an old Carvel changed names. Then saw it written up in Road Food. Might be the best soft serve I have found in the CT area. Perfect creamy texture — the chocolate flavor they use was so much better and less overly sweet than others. If the vanilla had more real vanilla flavor, this could be 5 stars.

Talk about poor customer service, this place has no idea what it is doing. I went here for some ice cream after work and waited in line for over ten minutes(yes just for ice cream). When I got to the counter, placed my order, went to pay I provided my credit card. They stated $ 5 minimum. I was only getting an ice cream cone and only had $ 2 cash on me. The total was $ 2 and change… first of all that price is ridiculous when you can get a full gallon of ice cream for $ 2.50 on sale(and it’s a good brand). She rejected my credit card and my $ 2 I had on me. I ended up leaving with no ice cream. Any place that is trying to become a popular staple in the neighborhood relies on repeat customers. Why would I want to give this type of a place my hard earned money when they are nickel and diming me on top of the counter help having an attitude. I hope you guys go out of business and learn a lesson the hard way. Customer service is priority, without customers your staff just eats the ice cream(and profits) and gets fat. Peace out, I’ll find a new place to get ice cream from.

I found this shop through the great Jane and Michael Stern Road Food books. If you don’t know about these two foodies, find them at their web site . I was visiting a friend’s automotive restoration shop in the wilds of Connecticut when the urge for ice cream hit me. I pulled out Road Food and GPSed my way to the shop. it looks like an ancient Carvel stand(which it is) but that’s actually great news. They make ice cream the way I remember it back when Woolworth’s in NYC offered soft serve vanilla in thick glasses with chocolate syrup and a long spoon. Brain Freeze anyone? Yup, this is that same old fashioned ice cream that I remember and can never find back home. Thick, not fluffed up with air to make it less expensive. This is rich and flavorful soft serve and a must-try if you are in the area. I have only visited in summer but I hear they are open year-round. Go. Enjoy. You’ll thank me later!

Banana Milkshake! Hands down. Lovely Ice Cream shop. Many of the local kids work here so it’s great to support a longtime Ridgefield business. I think they are cash only so just make sure to hit up an ATM before going. Ice Cream cakes here are incredible

Great ice cream shop. Always stop on the way to Danbury. Surprisingly open 365 days a year. Which I like because I can get ice cream in winter. But keep in mind outdoors for customers…

This is a great little stand. My dogs love to come here for cones. There is parking and a bench to sit on.

Great ice cream shop with old fashioned soft serve. They also make delicious ice cream cakes.
