Excellent place for Mediterranean food. Very homely ambience and exceptional service from husband and wife duo! I got the meat gyro, which was a good size portion and very flavorful! The bread and hummus appetizer was great too! Hidden gem and I regret not knowing about this place all these years!

We often select Trak’s for a birthday celebration dinner. We went this evening and once again had an excellent experience. The Trak family is ALWAYS so accommodating and gracious to ensure that you will have an excellent meal and experience. The food is ALWAYS served hot and delicious. The service team is very personable and attentive. Anyone reading this review should stop looking for another restaurant and they should just go to Trak’s for an enjoyable evening.

Awful. Will never go back. Ever. Period. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one. Go straight to Zorba’s.

Shocked by the reviews. Me and my wife went here a year ago and we were extremely disappointed. The restaurant is cramped and does not seem clean, we found ourselves over dressed for our date night. The server was nice but the food was horrible. We got one of there more expensive dishes that had portions of many of there«best food» and it came out mushy, bland and mixed together. The portions were large but does that really matter when the quality is poor?

Four of us went for dinner last week and the service and food were wonderful. The portions sizes are too large for mom and I so I don’t know that I will go back unless I take a football team with me. :) The Greek salad was amazing! I have leftovers in mom’s freezer for my next visit. She loved the Eggplant Parmesan and has multiple servings in her freezer too.

I have dietary restrictions that limited me trying most things on the menu, but the house salad with Greek vinaigrette was superb, and I enjoyed the spaghetti and the hummus entrée. The service was really outstanding. I was dismayed that they didn’t have baba ghanoush(we were told it’s on the menu as a special sometimes) but overall thought they had a great selection. The prices were a tad steep, but the portions were huge, so it ended up being very cost effective. My s/o and I shared the spaghetti and even after two people devoured it, there was still enough left over for the takeout box that I used for a later meal.

My dad has worked in food service for over 25 years and he is VERY picky. I inherited that trait haha. He kept raving about this place not so far from his home in the west end. I’ve driven by it and always thought I would love to try it out. The décor on the inside and out is so vibrant and beautifully executed. Last night he said he was there getting dinner by himself and I had to go give him some company. I walked in and was instantly greeted by the owner who also serves. He was SO kind and polite the entire time. I instantly received a beautiful, fresh salad with homemade bread. I wasn’t too hungry so my dad ordered calamari and breaded shrimp appetizers for us both while he ordered a meal. Other than going to a beach for seafood… I’ve never tasted such FRESH food. I can’t say fresh or delicious enough. The calamari was fried but wasn’t soggy, it was crisp and had a slight zest of lemon on it. They also served it with a whole lemon sliced up and elegantly placed around the calamari. The shrimp was also fried I believe and the spices didn’t take away from the overall flavor. They are not shy with the extra items on your place like vegetables, lemon, sauces, or bread/butter. Not only is the food delicious, the service is impeccable. I didn’t feel awkward for asking for anything and he was very attentive to our needs. I honestly would go just to catch up with him because he’s a wonderful person and very funny. He has two children and his story was absolutely adorable. I’m the type of person who goes out for the overall experience and every bit of the experience was fantastic. He even sent us on our way with slices of cheesecake because it was my first time there! It can be a little pricey depending on what you get but their website has tons of deals and coupons. Needless to say I am very glad I went to dinner with my dad on a whim… I have a new favorite place!

Our family is visiting Richmond this week and we happened to find this wonderful gem through a Unilocal search. What a terrific experience! The proprietors, Sam and Mary maintain a great intimate, family feel and took fantastic care of us. The food was awesome — great home-cooked with generous helpings. We tried everything from the calamari and hummus appetizers to the phenomenal lasagna(a must-try!) to the Greek salad, to the Kabob Lover. All delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in our family — across age and food preferences. Strongly recommend this fantastic small homey restaurant. Wonderful experience that we look forward to repeating very soon at an upcoming trip back to Richmond!

The food at tracks is also very bad the only people that eat there are 100 year old West Enders will have food tastes formed back in the fifties and they don’t know any better than to eat something with can tomato sauce on good food is don’t go there whatever you do

Decent enough place for vegetarians, though I usually get pizza(not the best pizza I’ve had though). They have a nice wine selection. Friendly servers.

Trak’s is a very unique little restaurant. The service, portions, and ambience all rate 5 stars. This is a tiny restaurant with just 14 seats. They also have an obviously dedicated local clientele. The manager circles constantly talking to diners ensuring they are comfortable. Based on the conversations I heard, he knows most of the clients personally and people come here often. We started with the calamari which was the some of the best I’ve enjoyed. I had the veal parmigiana. The veal was good but just slightly over cooked so it was a little tough but not so bad I wanted to complain. The pasta was cooked well but the tomato sauce was a little sweet for my taste. The red pepper flakes took care of that. I have to admit I enjoyed the décor. Think the parents house in «My Big Fat Greek Wedding». The whole place was welcoming and I enjoyed my overall experience. If I’m in Richmond again I could see coming back.

Looking for a soul food Italian cuisine; this is what your looking for!!! I don’t over emphasize this thing however this place is highly recommended. I assure you’ll be satisfied. I’m visiting Richmond and my friend is craving for Italian food. Accidentally, we find this place through website and the reviews are pretty much encouraging. And guess what, we both totally enjoyed it. The service is excellent. Note: The servings is huge.

When you’re at Trak’s, you’re with family. When someone asks me for my favorite Greek food in Richmond, I usually send them here. There’s nothing that pushes the culinary boundaries here. It’s just good old fashioned Greek and Italian food that you know and love. Everything tastes great! Personal favorites are the tiropita, calamari, Trak’s special pizza, Taste of Greek pizza, Aphrodite, Moussaka, gyro, and beef souvlaki. The décor is always dazzling, with enough Christmas lights strung up everywhere to make you think they might just be a stop on the Tacky Light Tour! Staff is friendly and remembers your face – and sometimes your order, if you come in frequently! The only thing that might be a bit shocking is the cost. People get a little sticker shock, and as someone on a budget, Trak’s is a ‘when I’ve got a little extra’ sort of place. But it’d worth the money. Delicious food, friendly service, and sparkly environment – it’s a piece of my childhood that I love! Enjoy!

Trak’s, as other people have mentioned, can be a sensory overload. The problem I have with Trak’s is not the food. The food is amazing. The problem is that they cook for family style, but there isn’t much seating based for family’s, nor is there a huge selection of smaller entrees. I love the Alexander the Great, filled with marinara and shrimp. However, by the time you get to it after your salad, rolls and an appetizer if you order one, you can only eat a little bit. Even if you didn’t have any of that, the average person might be able to finish half. There really is no room for people to really have what they want without having to take half or more of it home. Trak’s needs to focus on making smaller entrees of it larger family style items and they might hit the spot. Also, the décor is tacky, but kind of in place for the family that runs it, but it can be a sensory overload for newer people not expecting it. However the family and staff that run it are extremely nice and more than willing to accommodate you in any way possible. As for the desserts, try the cannoli and the tiramisu. Individual sized portions here, but they are amazing!

I’ve been wondering about this place, got a craving for some spanakopita, and decided to order some to go. Six triangles for $ 8. Kind of expensive. I also ended up ordering tiropita. Also six triangles for $ 8. The tiropita ended up being the star of the show. I’ve never seen it made quite like Trak’s does it, where it’s more like a grilled cheese or pressed sandwich(on phyllo). The spanakopita was done the same way. I’d give the tiropita 5 stars, the spanakopita 3 stars. As for atmosphere and ambiance, I wouldn’t describe it as having either, unless you count a cramped neighborhood joint with tacky 80s décor with a Greek influence as atmosphere. It kind of can be. It seems like this place caters to regulars. And it comes complete with a «mom» who directs everything and everyone. Every table was taken, though. I’d probably order something else to go. Not my scene for dining in.

For our ritual Friday Night Date Night, DH and I are still exploring restaurants in our new neighborhood in the West End. After hearing good things about Trak’s, we decided to try it. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted and seated promptly. The restaurant was nearly full, telling me we would be in for a treat. However, I could hardly make up my mind on what to order due to the sensory overload of just looking at this place’s décor! It looks like it may have been decorated by Adrianna LaCerva. While the murals are rather charming, this place makes use of every other surface and corner in the place with lights, faux plants, faux marble columns, urns, statues, etc. Once we were able to our attention to the menu, we had many choices. I was a bit surprised by some of the prices, with some of the prices up to $ 24 for an entrée. But most are in $ 15 range. I had the olives and feta(plated with flatbread and tzatziki sauce) appetizer, which is big enough to share. I also had the moussaka, which came with a side Greek salad. All of which I thought was pretty tasty. It also turned out to be a lot of food, but that means I had leftovers for the next day. Overall, it is a kooky little place with great service and good food. I am sure we will be back.
