I have been trying to buy a gift from the Babies R Us registry online so I can have it shipped to an out of town friend. I have tried four times to order the item and every time the website freezes. But, that is for another day. I went to this store, which also has a small Babies R Us inside, thinking that they should be able to help me since I was striking out on the website. I went to the help desk where the young man behind the counter offered to help me. I explained my problem and asked if they had a way for me to purchase it through the registry and have it shipped. He said yes. These were my problems:
1. Basically, he was just doing it on their computer the same way I would have on mine from home.
2. Because he wasn’t using a different Babies/​Toys R Us program to help me, the item wasn’t being taken off the registry.
3. When it came time to enter my information, he scanned the bar code from the registry, thinking that my friend’s address would import. It didn’t.
4. All the while, he was standing there on the «Enter Billing Address» page, waiting for her information to populate on the screen. I don’t want it to bill to her!
5. I told him, three times before he understood, that he needed to enter my information on the billing page, not hers.
Finally, I got so frustrated waiting for someone who obviously didn’t know what they were doing and wouldn’t ask for help that I just left. I will figure out another way to place the order.
