Shark Seafood Restaurant

My daughter did some research and we decided to check this place out. Upon arriving, we quickly found out that it’s a mom and pop shop, literally. I believe the owners are husband and wife team and the husband speaks limited English. We asked him if the House Bag #3 is enough for the three of us and he shakes his head so we ordered 20 chicken wings along with our meal.
The seafood broil was really tasty and the corn was so sweet. The only thing missing was some bread so I inquired and the owner brought out dinner rolls for us. I offered to pay for the rolls and he politely refused. He’s such a nice man. I sopped up the garlic butter in the boil with the bread, yummy. The crab legs, mussels, and shrimp were all very good. The Dungeness and King crab were better than the Snow Crab but we were pleasantly surprised by the chicken wings. They were nice, juicy and plump and complemented our seafood broil really well.
We enjoyed our meal and would go back to support this establishment.

Maybe we went on the wrong day. There was nothing special about the restaurant or the food. But there are a lot of people that like it. I would try again during a different time.

Great service — the cashier guy was really nice to us and greeted us with a smile. The food was promptly brought out.
Food — Great price and decent seafood. We got the 2lbs bag of mussels, clams, shrimps, crawfish, lathered in buttery garlic. We also got the family meal which consisted of everything in the posted picture.
All in all, we will definitely return to this hidden treasure. Great prices, services and good food.

I love this place. Whenever i crave a seafood boil this is the spot. I live in the city so its a 10 minute drive. But its totally worth it, far better then crustaceans in the west end. They make it fresh, unlike other places thats pre-​made and frozen. They can cater to your spice level and the staff is really friendly. They have a good selection of domestic & craft beers as well. This place doesn’t disappoint.
I suggest the seafood boil with everything including the crabs. They have secret super spicy sauce if you like it super hot.

Honestly I was a little disappointed that their fish and scallops were not fresh. I mean for a Marylander there is nothing worst then to give me a crab cake full of filler and pre frozen seafood! Enough said…

We were in town for a swim competition and ate here not once, not twice but THREE times for dinner! It was THAT good! We had the family special for the first 2 nights — the wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Our favorite flavors were Garlic Pepper (dry rub) and Garlic Sweet Soy (wet and oh so savory). One night we had ½ wings and ½ fried whiting. The fish was so crispy, fresh and delicious! The sides were also stellar as well. The coleslaw was lightly dressed and delicious. The hush puppies were slightly sweet and full of corn flavor. The fried rice was just aromatic! Our family of 4 ate for around $ 30 and still had leftovers!
On our last night at Richmond, we opted for other items on the menu. The boil bag was AMAZING. It’s New England clam bake on steroids. A mix of seafood (crab, clams, mussels, shrimp, crawfish) and sausage, corn & potatoes are boiled in a plastic bag. A butter garlic sauce flavored the entire bag of seafood and the natural juices mixed with this sauce made for a heavenly experience. It was out of this world good! We also had the lightly seasoned seafood salad and a Philly cheese steak. Everything was just delicious! This dinner was a bit more expensive than the previous 2 night’s family special but the seafood was so worth it!
We look forward to coming back to Richmond and eating at Shark Seafood again! Everything we had were delicious and affordable!

Amazing food! Amazing price! The food was very fresh and tasted great. The fried crab and boiled mussels were delicious. We live in PA, but will definitely be back.

I ordered the #3. It was so good! I love that they serve it like a small seafood boil. The service was excellent. We were checked on a few times, which showed great customer service. We are definitely coming back.

My wife and I went by Shark Seafood Restaurant this afternoon and it was extremely nice. I admit I was expecting something a little different. We ordered #2 «Bucket» (potatoes, corn, sausage, shrimp, muscles, and two types of crab legs). We sat down and they brought out a large piece of paper to go over the table and silverware… no plates. Our food came out and we dug in and it was fantastic. We were visited a few times by the staff and they were nice and friendly. We will definitely be eating there the next time we are craving seafood.

This place is AWESOME great food and very friendly staff. My Son constantly wants to eat here. And that’s definitely saying something because he can be picky. Anyway we have had great experiences every time we have eaten there.

Because Unilocal MAKES me give a star. Wanted some crabs, went in placed order and card was swiped, owner comes out and says we out of females, didn’t offer anything else. hubby asked for males ($ 28) at the female price ($ 17) since we already paid, owner says you want ½ dz? Well HECK NO! Instead of taking the sale owner tells cashier to give him refund
Really guy you going to lose a sale instead of selling the product that’s going to die either tonight or tomorrow, hmh. And yes I have eaten there before, food not great, no season and fried hard. #nomoreofmybusiness #ormymoney

I went to check it out only to find out they do not take American Express Cards… all I had with me at the time. The owner let me sample the gumbo and it was very good.
I will go back and give it another try on my next trip in that direction.

Great place. Advertises seafood but serves chicken and some Asian food also. Fried whiting was great, not too greasy, very light and fluffy. Definitely a great deal for the money. Seaweed salad was very good also. Highly recommend this place.

Nice affordable seafood for a night out with the family without costing an arm and a leg. Good food and nice selection.

I live in the west end so i dont normally travel to the southside but my dad lives over on that side of town so i wanted to try something new and i was craving seafood. I heard about this place just opening from a friend and had to come try it. I ordered the seafood combo as an appetizer while we decided on the rest of our entrees. I also saw that they had chicken wings and i LOVE chicken wings so i ordered 10 pieces half sweet soy garlic and half supa hot fire. My friend ordered the fish burger which had a pretty good whiting flavor. My personal favorites from the meal was the fried whiting, fried scallops, french fries, hushpuppies, and of course the wings! The wings were sweet salty saucy sticky and the spicy were spicy! Next time im on that side of town i will probably give the chicken rice dishes a try. They also have a $ 6 lunch special for wings, jumbo shrimp, or fish sandwich and fries. Thats within my price range! id probably have to get 2 though haha.

My boyfriend and I had dinner around 6pm. The place was empty. The cashier was the waiter and he was no very knowledgeable about the food. The drinks came in Styrofoam cups. There was no sweetner for the unsweetened tea other than sugar packets. Kinda defeats the purpose of drinking unsweetened tea to save on calories. We each had a fish item. He had the tilapia and I had the salmon. Both pieces of fish were cooked and seasoned perfectly. We skipped the rice so I can’t tell you how that was. We each had mixed vegetables. There was no seasoning on them and they were cold. It appears to be a very clean restaurant and the staff was very polite. We asked for cocktail sauce but never received any. My review sounds kind of harsh but it was still a nice place. We might give it another try. After all its a very new restaurant and they’re probably still working the kinks out.

This place is brand new and I was hesitant to try, but this place is phenomenal. I had their fish and chicken along with some cornbread and their mac n cheese. Their chicken and fish was perfectly cook and you could tell everything is home made.
Overall Very good costumer service, reasonable prices, very nice atmosphere, and of course good food.
Will defiantly come back and try the rest of their menu as they have asian dishes, Mexican dishes, like 20 wing sauces, and so many other entrees.
They also serve a nice selection of beer and have lots of nice big TVs to watch football and other sports.

Tried their wings and fries and it was very good and at a decent price. They had an extensive menu including chicken, seafood, and Mexican dishes. The owner and staff were friendly and courteous. Definitely eating here again.

Ordered fish and chickens and it was amazing! Not too greasy, not too fried, but perfect. There was plenty of chicken to eat.
Excellent customer service and atmosphere, the owner is very friendly too & great place to eat with family and friends!
It also has this very cool hammer head shark statue!!!

Love this place! We were treated so well and enjoyed every moment. The fried oyster and shrimp were simply incredible. I chose the Salmon in Bakedfish Cuisin and my partner chose the butterfly jumbo shrimp and both were paired with rice. No regrets! It was outstanding! What a wonderful place to eat!
