I haven’t had to go to the dry cleaners in quite some time, and I needed to get one dress in particular cleaned for an occasion. This location on Parham Rd. was convenient for me, so that’s why I chose it. The lady at the front desk, I believe the manager, was polite and helpful. The prices have gone up since I’ve been… or Puritan is just more pricey. The turnaround for the 2 dresses I dropped off was impressive, same day service. However, I wasn’t available to come back in the evening, so I picked them up the following day. As far as I can tell, the dresses looked«clean.» Next time, I’ll probably make time to check other dry cleaners for pricing comparison.

I’ve frequented Puritan Cleaners at the Woodman Rd location a few years ago and was pleased with their services; I expected to receive similar results at this location. I was highly disappointed. The coats just didn’t look as if they have been cleaned… at least not in a thorough manner. Considering the amount I paid for each coat, I felt like I just threw money away. To top it all off, there was another customer screaming at one of the associates when I went back to pick up my coats. Eeek! I hope they resolve their internal issues soon or they may start to lose customers – at least at this location – and fancy services such as at-home pick up/delivery and online communication might not save them!

Prices are about average. There’s been good customer service the three times I went in there, including in the alterations area. I got back a white duvet that was dry cleaned, and it had been yellow. It came in a spiffy new re-usable bag, which I have a different duvet stored in now. I also had curtains shortened there(perfectly), and they were done a day early. Oh, and that’s the other cool thing: they e-mail you when your stuff is ready. So, if you were expecting these things Wednesday(as I was), you might be able to get your duvet on Monday(when I was e-mailed) or your curtains Tuesday(as I did today). I was in the area both days, so it was convenient – and now I don’t have to be in the area tomorrow, when the stuff was supposed to be ready. Bonus. I like the e-mailing feature. It’s gosh darn swell. Also, you get a $ 10 credit for your birthday! Groovy.

I was not impressed with this location of Puritan Cleaners. First off, unless you take your dry cleaning on a day when the item you need cleaned is on special(each day there’s different specials), prices aren’t great. It’s pretty average for the area. They are average at best. More than once when I’ve come in to pick up items it has taken FOREVER for the associates to find them. Like to the extent I’m wondering if they are lost. And, after waiting forever, sometimes I get the items home only to find stains still on them. The other bad thing about Puritan: they send their items to a central location for cleaning. This sounds good because the cleaning would be more standardized, but it means it takes longer for items to come back. And, if something doesn’t come back it’s much harder to locate it. I’ve known them to lose sashes off dresses, ties and other small items. After trying other cleaners around town, I wouldn’t return to this Puritan.
