Again it was a superlative dining experience at La Cocina. I saw an award for this restaurant for 30 years of service. A Mexican restaurant in Rosenberg for 30 years you know must be not only reliable but a fair price and good service in order to sustain for that period of time. Tonight was a great example of all of those aspects of a great restaurant-service which tonight was exceptional, ceviche and gucamole which was great, flavoful, fresh and well seasoned and a margarita which are always dependable. This is quite simply just a very good, dependable restaurant.

Service was quick. Great atmosphere. Great service. Great staff. Great price. Right outside of Pecan Grove. Their green sauce is just like Los Cucos in Old Katy. We will be back.

The salsa and the tortillas are made perfectly. I would come back just for the salsa. The fajitas are standard fajitas, as are the rice and beans. It would be better if the onions were sauteed until they are caramelized. They are more on the raw side than what I’d preferred. Service is nice but they can get busy and might not be as attentive.

Above average Tex-Mex. I’ve had both breakfast and dinner here(including take out) and the food is good(especially their tortillas – you can tell they’re handmade in the kitchen). The service is always excellent, with friendly wait staff and quick delivery of food. Prices are reasonable and you get a lot of food.(Fajitas for two provides enough leftovers for at least another meal or two after.) Only complaint would be I don’t love their red salsa(I haven’t tried the green yet), and the queso is literally just queso with no real flavor. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area.

The food is edible but not very good. The queso taste like it comes from a huge Costco size can And the other food taste the same. Why would you go hear when you can go less than half a mile a way to Victoria’s? I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I ate lunch here and tried the enchiladas verdes and beef fajitas. The food was very average. There is not much competition in the area so that enables them to keep their doors open. This restaurant would never survive in Houston.

My wife and I took a date night out for dinner and a play. I saw this place on Unilocal and thought we should try it out. It’s not very big but the food and the service sure do make up for that. My wife got their fish Cancun(fish in a foil pouch) with vegetables and black beans. She said it was great and the taste I had confirmed that. I had their version of surf and turf, 4 grilled shrimp and a piece of beef fajita, with rice and charro beans. It was fantastic. A house margarita topped it off. So if you get a chance stop by and try this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

We eat here often. Great food at very reasonable prices. I love their house special, La Sirena. It’s huge. Split it with someone you love. My kids devour the chili con queso and the salsa verde is our favorite around.

It’s a good family restaurant with affordable lunch specials and great green sauce. They have a great breakfast so check that out if you’re hungry for breakfast tacos.

Nice quick lunch on the patio. This kind of weather comes and goes quick so I try to enjoy it every chance I get. Had the ceviche and was impressed. With the quality and quantity. I ordered it as my meal and had enough to take home for dinner the next night. Super fresh. Good thing my man lives right around the corner so when I come back it wont be out of my way.

I had queso enchiladas, they were good, about as expected. My friend tried a Margarita in the rocks & could not taste the alcohol, so she switched it out for frozen which was a bit better.

I probably will not be going back to La Cocina. My biggest complaints: — queso was terrible, reminded me of concession stand queso. The kind from the can. — the wait staff didn’t have it together, lots of confusion and long stints of not even looking over at the table to see if we needed something. I’ll gladly flag you over if we need you, but you have to look at us for me to do that. — two employees were chatting away right by our table. I may not hablo Español, but sadly I do know when you are cussing in Spanish. How did they know we didn’t speak Spanish? I have a real problem with people using fowl language(no matter the language) in front of my kids. — the enchiladas were very disappointing. tasted like they were made in bulk with no care to how they may taste. We have enough decent Mexican restaurants around to not need to return to this spot. My suggestion, pass.

Full disclosure, I did not actually eat the food here(yet). However, my friend I sent it to said it was awesome! The reason I am writing this review is the customer service I received and how amazing it was… I wanted to send a friend of my dinner after she had a baby and to my surprise not many restaurants/places would deliver in Richmond other than pizza and Chinese. Well I came across this restaurant and it had good reviews so I thought I would call to see if they would work with me. The owner went over and beyond! From delivering outside of his normal area for me and actually delivering it himself. I am so glad customer service has not been completely forgotten. The new Mom and I Thank You Andres :) Can’t wait to try your restaurant next time I am in town!

This was my first visit to La Cocina. It was a Sunday morning around 8:45 a.m. I called in an order for 9 breakfast tacos and was told it would be 15 minutes before they would be ready. On the dot! 15 minutes and they were handing me my order! The food: the tacos were good but not great with the exception of the Carne Guisada, it was very good. Cooked with mild spices, bits of carrot and potatoes, smooth gravy. This will be what I get the next time I go. The flour tortillas were hand made but just a little too much lard for my liking. Over all a good experience for an easy Sunday breakfast.

I had a gift certificate to La Cocina. I was seated immediately. The restaurant wasn’t busy, but the table service was attentive. A drink order was immediately taken and chips and salsa were brought to the table. Chips were warm, and the salsa slightly spicy – just the way I like it. Now, I ordered the Shrimp Carnavale. Without the gift certificate, I probably wouldn’t have ordered this $ 15 meal. The dish was highly recommended by the server as the best shrimp dish. Well, I wasn’t disappointed. The shrimp and rice were served on a fajita cast iron. Temperature-wise, the food was hot. Just the way it should be served. The accompanying grilled onions were tasty as well. It also came with a small dish of sour cream, pico de gallo, and guacamole. All very tasty. The meal also came with a healthy serving of wheat tortillas. I finished most of the meal, leaving some rice and one tortilla. Too full to order a dessert. If you are looking for a decent Mexican restaurant located between Katy and Sugar Land, then La Cocina is the place. Andrew was my server, and he was great.

Recently rediscovered this place. Food seems a bit better and more consistent. The extra star is for their current staff and lunch specials. People are friendly and lunch portions arent skimpy and more bang for your buck.
