Ok if you are a little clumsy, or have ever had someone tell you that you resembled a bull in a china shop, this is not the store for you. Hell, I’m not even 5 feet tall, and I felt a little nervous walking around in this store… I am pretty sure they have a «you break it you buy it» policy that would pack a wallop to your wallet. Ok so aside from the highly breakable nature of just about everything in this store, it was interesting to browse in. I was in search of a leather notebook(which I ultimately found down the street at Thistles) but I happened to stop in here because I figured if anyone knew where to get upscale gifts, it would be an interior decorator on Libbie Ave. There are a tremendous number of items for sale in this store(it’s actually four or five rooms, filled with china and baubles of one kind or another) and in the back I found some really nice paper products(calendars and planners) but alas no leather notebooks. Truthfully, most of the items in the store were for decoration instead of function– think crystal vases, ornate Fabrage eggs, oriental screens and bronze animal statues… these are the types of things that go on top of a mantle, or are displayed in a china cabinet(they have an ungodly number of china sets on display– I should have looked here when I was putting together my wedding registry, because that was the only time I could afford something as nice as this china :)) or are passed down from generation to generation even. They also have some really upscale gifts(servingware, jewelry boxes, paperweights) that make me keep this place in mind when it comes time to buy birthday or thank you gifts… it’s the type of stuff you buy to impress… It was a little too busy for me, and I definitely felt over-stimulated with all the things to see and all the places to look… but if you like window-shopping or are redecorating or looking for a gift, check this place out.
