The selection and variety are wonderful but what really sets Growlers to Go apart is the friendliness of the staff. They are set up to give samples and fill growlers and they act like they enjoy it. You don’t get that air of annoyance that pervades certain bars and breweries.

Amazing find — we plan to visit often! Love the amazing selection of beers on tap, and very reasonable prices for growlers. Even better is that you can sample, so you’re not stuck with 32 or 64 ounces of beer you don’t care for. We were also able to find seasonal beers that were hard to find elsewhere. Can’t wait for our next trip to discover new beers!

First off, the location is outstanding. The store is located about a half-​mile away from the center of Richmond, in a vibrant part of town. The number of beers on tap is very impressive, but what got me was the convenient and well thought out menu display that shows the type of brew, IBUs, etc. This is a big plus for someone like me who is actually interested in every detail about what I’m buying. Prices are competitive and there are hard-​to-​find beers on hand. My only wish is that they expand further so there can be more of a selection for the build-​your-​own pack section. All in all, a great place to pick up exciting beers in bulk.

What a great no nonsense beer joint. Great location. Easy on and off the Boulevard. Great selection of bottled beers but even greater selection of over 50 beers on tap. Excellent web-​site with real time tap levels. Crazy. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. Absolute, hands down great place for beer.

My husband and I are really into beer and we found out about this place at a festival in October. I believe they opened around Chrstmas. What an amazing selection of beer GTG has! We usually go to a local store to get our growler filled with something different but we will gladly make the longer drive to be able to have so many choices of hard to find beers.
Each time we have been the staff was friendly and they allow you to sample the beers and have always given us time to decide. What a great addition to the Richmond beer scene!
We’ve gotten beer from Apocolypse brewery and Lickinghole which is one of my favorite breweries but so far so I’m very excited GTG is carrying their beer!

I just waited in line to ask if they carried Hoegaarden ale. They did not acknowledge me; however, when a white couple came in, the guy went right up and served them. Now, I’m not implying anything, but relaying my experience. I won’t return.
