Golden Corral

The food is good, and breakfast is a deal but during a busy dinner service I almost feel like I’m a cattle in a feed lot. It can get very crowded and the fact that they cram you in next to other tables makes it hard to go back and forth from the buffet line. Other than that, the food isn’t bad for what it is and they know how to keep things filled/​refilled. Overall, this is my go to spot for a quick breakfast or a straight forward dinner. But for the price, I’d stick to breakfast with this place.

It’s a very good place for salads. I am trying this place for second time. I love there salad and soups.

Came for Thanksgiving dinner. The line to get in wrapped around the building but was fast moving. We had an issue with a table but there were 12 of us so I expected that. Once sat, we realized we were seating at 3 tables and one table was on another side of an open partition. Annoying, but we dealt. Since the place was packed and we had the partition issue and I was at the end of a table, I found myself getting up about 8 times letting other people in and out of their path to the food. The food wasn’t bad and the staff was good. The mac and cheese was absolutely overcooked and tasteless. The mashed potatoes definitely NEED gravy. Turkey was good, fried okra was decent, and the Brussels sprouts were way over done.

WOW. I just called and asked the hours and the girl didn’t even let me finish my question and then hung up on me. Class act, GC.

I mean, it’s a slimy little buffet, serves the purpose and is pretty much what you should expect.
I will say of all the GCs I’ve been to, this one is not as nice/​clean as the ones in Hampton Roads & Williamsburg ones… But compared to the one on SSide of RVA; it’s like a palace!

I’ll start off by saying that this place looked pretty clean when I visited. I constantly saw fresh food being put out which was also a plus. We got a pretty sweet server that constantly refilled drinks without even being asked. The food tasted fresh. My favorites were the seafood salad, bourbon street chicken, pot roast, and fried fish. The banana pudding was yummy and the strawberries were nice and sweet. I would however avoid the cheese sauce they provided for the steamed broccoli, it tasted pretty vomitrocious to me. One last thing, in places like these the bathrooms are usually a nightmare but when I went in the bathrooms were CLEAN! Hallelujah! I would definitely go again.

I’m not a big fan of buffets but I occasionally come to Golden Corral with my family. My brother is very tall and eats a lot of food. He chows down at this buffet. If you have a big appetite, Golden Corral will satisfy your cravings. There’s a wide variety of food items for a reasonable price. This location usually stays busy especially on weekends. Expect a wait during dinner time (Fri & Sat). Sundays around noon is usually very busy as well. Golden Corral isn’t as busy during the week. The service is hit or miss (if the restaurant is busy). Golden Corral is good bang for your buck if you like buffets.

For what it is I guess it can get 3 stars. On a Saturday at 4 it was pretty busy. I know I don’t want to be here during peak times or else I’d never get one of those delicious golden rolls that people send their kids to get plates stacked sky high full of them. Even though they have a bigger variety than shoneys it’s like walking through Times Square in that place. If I’m fiending for a buffet I think I might just settle for a Chinese buffet and get seafood and sushi for 3 dollars less at hibachi sushi buffet.

If it weren’t for my mother who is a serious carnivore, and therefore loves buffets so she can get a variety of meat, I wouldn’t eat here. The price is not particularly a deal. I’d rather eat somewhere else and spend the same.
I’ve definitely eaten at better buffets.

Been to several locations in Va, this location topped them all. More variety of foods and FRESHER fruits and vegetables. Of course with any Golden Corral there is going to be a lot of people because its a buffet. Staff worked to get everyone seated as quickly as possible.
Oh. I MUST mention the steak grilled here. Fresh and so tender!!! It was great! The carrot cake was also great!

grab yourself a plastic tray and load up on Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter dinner all from 2 years ago. Nothing like left overs just gurgling under those heat lamps, be sure to sop up the juices with them lard rolls ya hear?!
ah yes, the «chocolate fountain» a sewage drain of all things magical. they say if you touch the chocolate your fingers they just might liquefy into an acidic dream!

Good food… good service! What is else there to say!

DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT FOR DINNER… You have been warned. Around dinner time, this place is a madhouse. A ton of people go to this particular Golden Corral because its located in a more affluent area which is a positive and negative. Positive being you dont have to worry about getting car jacked like you do at the Providence Road location, but you will have to wait 30+ minutes to be seated for dinner. Once seated, the way that the buffet is set up, there is only one way in and one way out. You might have 20 people in line waiting for one item and once it runs out, the replacement food might not come out for quite some time. If you are a fan of Golden Corral, dont visit this particular one after 3:00pm.

Golden Corral is an ok place if you need a good quick bite to eat. Wait staff is pretty good. The seafood feast is a JOKE. The meat /​rib feast are pretty good. Also stay away when it is crowed as tables are very cramped together at this location. The biggest issue though is that Sadly you must watch it as about 98% of the food contains high amounts of trans fats…

breakfast buffet. eggs were perfectly cooked (scrambled), lots of choices (although waffles would have been nice), hot syrup, and other toppings was a nice touch. price was fantastic (8.00 per person). even had fried chicken, and steak. steak was very tender — melt in your mouth! had a full dessert buffet, hot donuts. servers were quick and helpful. it was packed but everything ran smoothly. my only complaint would be the hash browns — they were under browned shredded potatoes. an option of home fries would have been nice. all in all we would definitely go back.

I went here for the dinner buffet (approx. $ 10) on a Friday. The buffet menu had a lot of variety and i tried out most of items there, as i moved from one item to another as i could not find anything that was palatable. This buffet is not worth even the meagre $ 10 that i paid for it. Substandard food at best. Must avoid.

I always like the variety of foods that are available at a Golden Corral. This location offers breakfast all mornings, not just weekends.
Had a very pleasant server that made lunchtime even more enjoyable.
Good food, nice variety, reasonable price.

I love the salad bar here. The greens are fresh, fresh, fresh! The food is OK as long as you realize you are NOT NOT NOT in a 2 or 3 star restaurant — it is clean and you can get full. Take your liquid hand sanitizer as folks serve themselves and you do not want to have dirty hands when you eat.
