Ambiance is agreeable, well lit, friendly employees who work to keep it clean and tidy. Pricing is much better than nearby restaurants whose pricing can seem extreme… The portion size is generous. However, in my experience, the food is hit or miss depending on what is ordered. The lemongrass chicken has excellent flavor, but can be tough sometimes. I’ve ‘never had an issue with the shaking beef. The loaded fries looked amazing when a friend ordered them(meat can be added) but when I ordered them a few days later, them the fries were cold and stale, cheese not melted, and it didn’t look nearly as appealing as when a co-worker ordered them. The most consistent item I’ve ordered has been the cobb salad which is one of the better one’s I’ve had anywhere. Their house special sauce(its green) is incredible and compliments everything from salads to beef.

Haven’t had the food yet… But a few thoughts: there are island jams playing in here, so ya, I like that a lot. When I ordered they didn’t have two of the things on the menu that I ordered. There’s a fat line behind me so then I was trying to figure out what I wanted but felt bad because I didn’t want to hold up the line. Next time, they could put a sign up for what’s not available. It’s a young feeling lunch place in the south end of Richmond. For those of us that live here, that’s kinda nice. Young woman behind the counter lookin sassy and texting… I’m not so keen on that. Post– food review, well got a burger. It was okay but didn’t have the aioli the description said it would. After trying to order two other things that they didn’t have, then eating a dry burger– that was a disappointment. Hope it’s a better experience next time.

Excellent customer service and great food! They offer much more than their menu. Don’t forget to try Salmon Salad which is the best. The prices are also very reasonable.

There aren’t many restaurants around where I work and lucky enough we have This literally around the corner. Food has been good but portion size has not been consistent. Prices are reasonable. The ambiance however needs some work. They leave their door open even when it’s freezing outside not making the dine-in experience a good one. Ladies working the register are not always the friendliest but it also could be the dark lipstick that throws me off. But I love the Hawaiian music they are always playing. I think a more comfortable ambiance and friendlier staff could make this place a lot better. Redeemed

I am a fan and slightly biased because I work next door. I used to visit daily when they first opened up. They are extremely busy and I usually call my order in in advance. There have been a handful of times where my order came out, not to their/my accustomed(we’re spoiled) standards and the owners have been happy to replace my orders. I’ve had to stop going so frequently as it adds up when you spend $ 20/day on food for one here lol. Their Lumpias are addictive and i LOVETHEM! They have a cute, modern interior and good food presentation. Definitely social media sharing worthy! Although my orders have always been«to go» and I never eat in.

A 4-star lunch destination. On my second visit, me and my companion enjoyed two menu staples: Shaking Beef and Lemon Grass Chicken. Verdict: Excellent. Plenty of tender marinated seared beef and soft fluffy rice served up with a side of greens and some(I think) tasty cilantro dressing. My companion loved the Lemon Grass Chicken, served with tender marinated chicken and a salad. Previously, on my first visit, I ordered their basic house burger and fries, which was not bad. If you order a menu item that includes fries, they will serve you plenty of them. Seriously, you’ll get lots of fries and they are pretty good. As before, we waited a bit longer than we expected for our meals. Lastly, be prepared for a windy(yes, windy!) lunch – they prop the front door open and the outside weather might blow your napkins and other things around. At this point, I’ve been there twice, but three more visits are needed to provide Unilocalers with a much better understanding of this establishment. As always, I will adjust my rating to reflect the overall average of the eatery. To be continued…

Pretty solid café located in the marina of Richmond near plenty of businesses. I didn’t have high expectations of this place as cafes near offices tend to be less than stellar, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Asian fusion inspired menu here. I ordered the banh mi sandwich which included a side of fries for 9 bucks, not bad. There were plenty of fries, and the banh mi was good with some good portions of pork. There’s definitely some enthusiasm and energy in the café which is always a plus, and they had a good mix of catchy throwback jams(think O.P.P. — Naughty by Nature). Decided to bump up my rating just on their friendliness, energy, and of course music. They have a pretty diverse menu so it might take a while to get bored of this place. It’s the only café in the immediate area, and a great place for lunch. Looking forward to coming back and trying out some other options on the menu.

Great food with a little island swag! It’s hard to find a good place to eat around Richmond and I’m glad I found Bubbaloo!

Niche nimrods, these Filipino entrepreneurs featured in the recent Chevron community bulletin. By way of preface, One can’t be too terribly choosy when there is such a dearth of Asian-influenced food in the enclave of MBay. Having said that, the lumpia and cake I sampled as a snack after reading in the sun was good, but pricier. I get how the seesaw works; I did take Econ 1 in school. For a few dollars more, convenience counts when grilled dishes and the sudden whims cannot be contained! I would patronize again. The layout of the café is nice, and access to the outside is a plus! We are all twiddling our digits, awash with anticipation for their second venture to open within the half year, next to Salute.

I have no idea what the earlier reviews talking about the inattentive staff members were thinking. The woman at the counter was friendly, helpful and took my order right away. I was in and out in 10 minutes and the breakfast burrito was absolutely bangin. Will definitely return!

Being all the way in Richmond I have not been out there for lunch since they first opened. But I did attend a wedding and reception there a few months ago. Naturally it was catered by them. It was FAR better than I expected it to be. The appetizers were these huge panko coated prawns. In knew I had to pop a few Claritin just in case, because I couldn’t enough. I had the wild salmon with a some kind of sauce on top. It was cooked to perfection. I’ve been to too many catered events and restaurants that positively RUIN a pricey Salmon filet. Mine was perfect. I’d definitely let them cater a party for me.

What a great surprise… Love the breakfast burrito! My wife and I were at a Volleyball event and we’re looking for something decent to eat. We found this unassuming café next to the event center and were pleasantly surprised. The coffee was hot, fresh brewed and if good quality. The breakfasts burrito was great tasting, cost effective and of wood size. The café was clean, organized and staffed with a good team. Looking forward to our next chance to swing by.

I have to switch up my review because of my last two visits. The place is going downhill. I cannot believe I had to wait 20 – 25 minutes for a sandwich today and previously a plate of teriyaki chicken. My entire party sat together and ordered together except I NEVER got my order OR an apology either time. They actually told me that food gets cooked at different times but hey, if EVERYONE else is eating and has been for minutes why is mine not ready at around the same time? I ordered the fried chicken sandwich today and was just not really impressed. I have had better at Up and Under in Pt. Richmond or Artisan Café. NEVER coming back. I tried. The manager could have at least APOLOGIZED!

Great location on the water. The coffee and hot chocolate were delicious. The space is modern and fresh. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Next time I’m at the mountain hardware employee discount store I’ll stop here first for coffee.

Their crab Benedict is really tasty. It’s a must try if you’re in the area for breakfast. The shaken beef is also good. Another must try is the Vietnamese sandwich.

Not many lunch choices in Richmond and this was a good find. In a strip mall near the old Ford factory by the water, bubulo café offers sandwiches, salads, and rice plates. Some dishes are clearly your standard café offerings but some have some Vietnamese themes. All I ordered was lumpia and broccoli and chedder soup. That’s funny, that I can have to two together. They have banh mi, lemongrass chicken, salmon sandwiches, and I think I remember burgers on the menu. Space is spacious, comfortable, with different seating options(large communal tables, couches, standard tables).

What I ate: lumpya, shaking beef Visit date: February 13, 2015 First time? Yes. After perusing the Unilocal photos I was excited to try the sisig, but sadly, it’s not on their menu anymore. In any case, what I ate was delicious! My friend and I came for lunch. The ambiance is casual with plenty of indoor seating. We opted for outdoors because it was sunny. We ended up sharing an appetizer and an entrée. It was a good thing we did, because the entrée was huge; we could have easily split the meal with a third. The shaking beef had a heap of rice topped with a good amount of beef and was served with a salad. The beef was medium well, tender, juicy, and flavorful. Also, it had a rich sauce, and me and sauce on rice… best friends. I’m glad it was served with salad because it was definitely a protein heavy meal. The lumpya was Shanghai style and served with garlic chili sauce. They were deep fried to crispy perfection. I was definitely pleased with this visit. I’m curious to try all the other items on their menu.

Came here for lunch excited that it’s only minutes away from the office. They have two outdoor tables that can easily sit 4 – 6 people. You order your food and seat yourself they call your name out when it’s ready they offer self serve water and a few cozy lounge chairs to watch Tv while you wait. The wait for our sandwich & half a salad took approximately 25 – 30 minutes rather long however it was an extremely busy day, hopefully by grand opening things will run more smoothly so I can come on my lunch. Ban min $ 7.95 sandwich they were out if BBQ pork they substituted with chicken. The roll was soft and not too crunch, chicken tender yet not very smoky I especially enjoyed the slices of avocado. Your side options are fries or green salad. uno 29 quince
