If you are waiting for a train in Richmond VA. Make sure you go across the parking lot to Anthony & George’s Steak House. We had 2 different layovers waiting for a train, ate 2 meals there and the food was great but most of all we loved the wait staff. Sherry and Jackie were wonderful. They let us sit and enjoy the atmosphere instead of sitting in the Amtrak station. They were both cute, efficient and fun. You will be sorry if you go to the close McDonalds and miss this experience.

First of all, all the waitresses here are very nice. The first time I went, I had a pasta dish, and it was decent, as was the soup. But today I went and ordered the BBQ pork sandwich with fries. The fries were ok, but the sandwich was a disgrace. As soon as the waitress brought it out, I thought it looked odd, almost like it was not real food at all. I smelled it, then tasted it, and it was truly awful. This is Virginia, were you should be able to get decent BBQ, but this stuff was beyond the pale. It tasted as horrendous as it looked and smelled. I complained to the waitress, and she kindly agreed to take it off my bill. Then an older woman came over to my table(owner, owner’s wife, not sure). She was very friendly, apologized for the fact that I was not happy, but said the cook had tasted it, and did not think there was anything wrong with it. I ended up paying for it, just because I did not feel like arguing about it. Actually, I ate the fries, so a total refund was not really required, but they could have showed a bit of class by not charging me for one of the two beers I had. I wish the cook had come out himself, and I would have told him he was selling rubbish disguised as food. This had nothing to do with personal taste, the food was simply bad. There is a reason this place is never crowded when I drive by, and now I know why.

Comfortable place not cosmopolitan. The food, service and prices were great. Loved this place and will go again! This place is locally owned and operated for 18 years. In this town a restaurant doesn’t stay open with the same owners if it is not great!!!

This place is great for what it is. It is reasonably priced with good fresh food. If you want Morton’s go pay for it. If you want good quality fresh food and a reasonable price than go to Anthony and George’s. My family and I eat here a couple of times a month. Four people eat for $ 60 and it is good and fresh with generous portions with leftovers for lunch the next day.

Do not get mislead many have by the sign in front stating $ 6.25 meals as this is Carry Out only although they do have daily specials. This is my second and last time going. Order the Baked Chicken and it was incredibly dry(had same issue with chop steak that I ordered during my previous visit). Waitress I had was subpar at best and even gave me my check right after giving me the food.

I have been here twice. Once for take out and another time for breakfast. For my dinner take out I order the sunday steak special… It wasn’t the best steak ever but it was a good size and yummy. Now the time I went for breakfast was just plain delicious. I ordered the biscuit with sausage gravy yummy. My boyfriend order the mexican omlette(too much green/veggies for my liking) but he loved it. Any the bill was ridiculously cheap even for breakfast. Its a very homey place with pretty good food… I will be returning for breakfast.

Whew, this restaurant is straight out of the 60s… I was hankerin for a good steak one night, and this place is both local AND has«Steakhouse» in the name, so I figured I would give it a whirl. Now, I wouldnt say this was a steakhouse so much as a family restaurant where the Partridge family probably still comes when they all get together for dinner. The waitress we had was an older lady, movin pretty fast all things considered, but not particularly perky. She seemed to know some of the patrons, most of whom were elderly and from the neighborhood… The décor is all dark wood and faux foliage, with a generous helping of brick walls and old-school booths. Their menu has lots of options(steak, seafood, pasta, etc.) and everything sounded good if a bit traditional… but… My husband had a pasta dish, which featured a watery tomato sauce and relatively little flavor. The portions were generous, but it wasn’t the sort of meal you wanted to take home for later. It was like a bad greek diner’s interpretation of pasta. I got a steak, and was disappointed to find it was thin and chewy. It came with a baked potato that was decent but small, and some steamed veggies. I got the impression it wasn’t the best meat… which is disappointing because I really appreciate a restaurant that cooks simply and lets the quality of the food shine… It’s too bad that this restaurant isn’t a bit more current, it’s next to the Amtrak station and it could be a great place for travelers looking for a good meal…
